Alolan Sandshrew is an excellent hail sweeper in the current LC metagame, with a great movepool and an incredible ability in Slush Rush which lets it thrive in hail. Its stab Triple Axel boosted by hail combined with a high chance of hitting thrice with its wide lens make Alolan Sandshrew very threatening. Earthquake provides coverage against fire types that would seek to end its sweep, making sure it doesn't have to switch out and lose its swords dance buffs. Speaking of which, swords dance makes its already threatening moves hit harder. Finally, rapid spin can get rid of leech seed which chips its health down. 236 attack investment lets Alolan Sandshrew outspeed and OHKO even choice scarf Charmander in hail with earthquake. Unfortunately, it has a crippling weakness to common fighting types like Mienfoo and Timburr, so it appreciates teammates who can deal with them such as Abra or Natu. Of course, hail setters like Snover are 100% necessary for the function of this pokemon, so these must be included as teammates.
