When it comes to Aurora Veil setters, a Snow Warning Pokemon like Alolan Ninetales sets it very well thanks to its natural Speed. Foul Play allows Alolan Ninetales to hit Metagross and Chandelure effectively. Encore cripples foes with supporting moves and setup sweepers like Stealth Rock Cobalion and Dragon Dance Necrozma. Hypnosis, however, serves as a lure for Alolan Ninetales's lures and can cripple them. Icy Rock is preferred to prolong Hail for abusers to use it and extra chip damage on the opposing team, but Heavy-Duty Boots can be used instead to avoid unwanted entry hazard damage.
Abusers of hail like Arctozolt, Arctovish, and Alolan Sandslash pair nicely with Alolan Ninetales due to that fact that they outspeed a majority of the tier with Slush Rush. Wallbreakers and sweepers that appreciate Aurora Veil like Sharpedo, Dragon Dance Flygon, and Guts Obstagoon make excellent teammates. A partner like Milotic or Seismitoad to switch in on Fire-types like Darmanitan and Volcanion is appreciated so Alolan Ninetales can set up Aurora Veil in peace. Both of these teammates can be used to switch into Steel-types as well since Alolan Ninetales dislikes them. On a similar note, Fighting- or Ground-type partners like Mienshao and Gastrodon can deal with said Steel-types.

Alolan Ninetales utilizes its ability in Snow Warning combined with Choice Specs to give it immediate attacking power that Nasty Plot doesn't provide. Dark Pulse guarantees 2HKOs on threats like Metagross, Chandelure, and Doublade while also being able to chip away at Steel-types that wall all of its other moves. STAB Freeze-Dry nails Water-types like Milotic and Suicune for super effective damage.
Steel-types like Stakataka, Registeel, and Metagross, if it's not carrying Dark Pulse, can switch in on and take advantage of Alolan Ninetales being locked into a STAB move. Therefore, teammates like Gastrodon, Milotic, and Seismitoad can come in and eat up hits from said Steel-types; these same partners can be used to pressure Fire-types like Darmanitan, Incineroar, and Chandelure to put them in range of one of Alolan Ninetales's moves. Entry hazard removal partners like Crobat, Noivern, and Volcanion are ideal since Alolan Ninetales lacks Heavy-Duty Boots and dislikes Stealth Rock.

Alolan Ninetales's offensive typing, Speed tier, and ability in Snow Warning, make it a decent Nasty Plot wallbreaker. With said Speed tier, it's able to naturally outspeed threats to it like Cobalion, Flygon, and non-Choice Scarf Mienshao. Dark Pulse is necessary for hitting foes like Metagross and Chandelure that would otherwise wall Alolan Ninetales's STAB moves. Freeze-Dry is an alternative to hit Milotic, Gastrodon, and Suicune for super effective damage.
Alolan Ninetales is easy lure for Steel-types like Metagross, Stakataka, and Registeel. Because of this, a partner like Obstagoon, Mienshao, or Gastrodon is appreciated to handle them. In return, Alolan Ninetales deals with opposing Fighting-types for Obstagoon and Flying-types like Togekiss, Noivern, and Crobat for Mienshao, and Grass-types for Gastrodon. Due to its Ice typing and no form of recovery, Alolan Ninetales will be reliant on its Heavy-Duty Boots. Therefore, a teammate like Cobalion can serve as a Knock Off switch-in to ensure Alolan Ninetales keeps said Boots. Cobalion also provides Stealth Rock support to weaken foes for Alolan Ninetales as well as pivot with Volt Switch on foes like Crobat and Noivern. Fire-types like Volcanion, Chandelure, and Choice Scarf Darmanitan can also halt any sweeping attempt Alolan Ninetales may try. Water-type partners like Milotic, Seismitoad, and Suicune can remedy this.
