Alomomola @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 20 HP / 236 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Scald
- Flip Turn
- Mirror Coat
- Play Rough / Body Slam

As a traditional stall Pokemon, Alomomola doesn't seem capable of using four attacking moves, so what's the deal here? Augmented by its insane HP stat, Regenerator, and an Assault Vest, Alomomola is nearly impossible to OHKO, letting it pivot with Flip Turn repeatedly through the course of a game in the face of fearsome special wallbreakers like Darkrai, Iron Valiant, and Iron Moth. Another boon of Assault Vest is Mirror Coat, which lets Alomomola destroy some of the aforementioned special attackers and even threats like Kyurem and non-Calm Mind Raging Bolt. Alomomola opts for Play Rough to hit Dragon-types like Roaring Moon and Kyurem, doing sizeable damage with Tera Fairy. Alongside Tera Fairy boosting Play Rough, the defensive properties let it sponge attacks from threats like Roaring Moon and Raging Bolt. Body Slam can punish Ogerpon-W coming in to wall Alomomola's Water-type moves. Alomomola is often paired with fast attackers like Dragapult, Lokix, and Zamazenta, using Flip Turn to safely bring them in. Physically defensive pivots like Landorus-T and Pecharunt create a solid VoltTurn core with Alomomola, the latter aiding against Ogerpon-W, which walls Alomomola.

As a traditional stall Pokemon, Alomomola doesn't seem capable of using 4 attacking moves, so what's the deal here? Augmented by its insane HP stat, (AC) Regenerator, (AC) and an Assault Vest, Alomomola is nearly impossible to 1-hit KO, letting it pivot with Flip Turn in the face of fearsome wallbreakers like Iron Valiant and Iron Moth. Regenerator lets Alomomola do this repeatedly through the course of a game (RC) granting safe entry to squishier in the face of fearsome special wallbreakers like Darkrai, (AC) Iron Valiant, (AC) and Dragapult Iron Moth. Another boon of Assault Vest is Mirror Coat, which lets Alomomola tank special attacks and destroy the aforementioned unsuspecting special attackers and even threats like Serperior Kyurem and Raging Bolt. For its last move (RC) Alomomola opts for Play Rough to hit Calm Mind Iron Valiant and Dragon-types like Roaring Moon and Kyurem, both of which can otherwise safely Substitute to exploit Alomomola's passivity. (sub moon is very rare & subtect kyurem still beats you) Body Slam can punish Ogerpon-W coming in to wall Alomomola's Water moves. (tera fairy line here should still fit character count i think) Alomomola is often paired with Lokix, as Alomomola can tank a hit from an offensive Pokemon and pivot into Lokix to pick it off with First Impression. (Technically not wrong but better to not solely focus on lokix as the 'offensive mons that like the slow pivot' since more viable mons like zama or pult are also great examples, and from there you can mention lokix as well. can put the next dnite mention here instead too if you want) Amoonguss and Dragonite check Ogerpon-W to compensate for Alomomola's terrible matchup into it. (amoong is a C tier mon, especially cause av mola isn't a mon used in fatter teams like amoong does. i think talking about physdef pivots like pecha or landot as partners is way more relevant, esp cause pecha helps with the waterpon mu too)
1/1 but lmk if you want me to look at it again before GP
