An Offensive Ubers team

All right, so I have been messing around with this team in DW Ubers (no wifi clause) for quite a while now. I peaked at around 50 and can't seem to get much higher. Any help would be much appreciated.

The Lead

Deoxys-S @ Focus Sash
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Taunt
- ExtremeSpeed

This is the standard Deoxys-S lead. With good prediction, he nearly always gets stealth rock up, unless the opponent has a Magic Mirror pokemon. Usually I can get one or two layers of spikes up as well. I chose this guy over anti-leads like Deoxys-A or Dialga because Stealth Rock greatly helps my offensive team, and none of the other pokes can set it up well.

The Revenge Killer and Kyogre Counter

Palkia @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP/ 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Att)
- Spacial Rend
- Surf
- Thunder
- Fire Blast

Choice scarf Palkia makes an ideal choice for a revenge killer, able to kill most of the threats to my team. Spacial Rend is STAB and hits incredibly hard. Surf is mostly filler, but gets STAB and can hit hard in rain if the opponent has mostly steel-types left late game. Thunder is (essentially) exclusively for Kyogre. Palkia makes a great counter because he can easily switch in on a Water Spout or Surf and proceed to Thunder, which is a 2HKO against all but the bulkiest of Kyogre. Fire Blast is there to take out Ferrothorn, Forteress, and the like.

The Pivot

Genesect @ Life Orb
Trait: Download
EVs: 56 Atk / 200 SAtk / 252 Spd
Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def)
- U-turn
- Flamethrower
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt

Coverage. Coverage. Coverage. That is what Genesect brings to the team. He can easily switch in on many Uber attacks (Dragons!) and proceed to kill the attacker with the appropriate move. U-Turn is good to kill Blissey, Arceus-Dark, and Mewtwo with an Attack boost. The other three moves get extremely good coverage and can decimate if Genesect gets a SpAtt boost from Download. Life Orb slightly hurts Genesect's lifespan, but as he dies from one fire attack anyway, the added power is very helpful. A Choice Scarf was considered, but rejected because I mostly use Genesect to switch into attacks anyway, and he outspeeds most of the stuff that can kill him (Ho-Oh), and can't kill the other stuff that can kill him anyway (Dialga).

Wobbuffet.png

The Setter

Wobbuffet (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Shadow Tag
EVs: 252 HP / 84 Def / 172 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Counter
- Mirror Coat
- Encore
- Safeguard

Wobbuffet is here to set up for Arceus and Mewtwo. He can switch into many pokemon and force them to use the same move with Encore. If it is a status move (or Toxic Spikes are up), he uses Safeguard to protect the other team members and then switches out to one of the sweepers, giving either Mewtwo a free Calm Mind or Arceus a free Swords Dance. Counter and Mirror Coat are obviously useful to kill stuff if need be.

The Physical Sweeper

Arceus @ Silk Scarf
Trait: Multitype
EVs: 252 240 HP / 140 Atk / 128 Spd
Hardy (changed) Adamant (+Att, -SpAtt) Nature
- ExtremeSpeed
- Swords Dance
- Shadow Claw
- Brick Break

Arceus is the choice for physical sweeper simply because he hits a much wider range of targets than DD Raquaza, my former choice. He also has priority, unlike Zekrom. The high HP EVs mean that Arceus can take several shots and stay standing, giving him extra time to get Swords Dance off--even a Focus Blast from Max SpAtt Gengar won't kill him.
Extremespeed gets priority, but the speed EVs allow me to outspeed all base 90 speed pokemon (Dialga, Giratina-O, Giratina are the big ones). More speed EVs and less HP would be fine though.
He gets nearly perfect coverage with Extremespeed and Shadow Claw. Extremespeed kills nearly everything that doesn't resist it after Swords Dance and SR damage, especially late in the game, which is typically when I finally use Arceus. Brick break is chosen over Overheat because of rain, and over earthquake because of Skarmory. (+4 can muscle past Skarm with BB), plus it hits Ferrothorn much harder than EQ.

The Wall Breaker and Special Sweeper

Mewtwo @ Leftovers
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Taunt
- Calm Mind
- Aura Sphere
- Ice Beam

The set is pretty simple. Taunt something that doesn't like it. Set up CM when you can. Outspeed everything but Deoxys-S, -A, and scarf users. (Scarf users are usually special sweepers anyway) Kill with Aura Sphere and Ice Beam. The two moves get surprisingly good coverage, hitting nearly every viable Uber Pokemon for at least neutral damage. Leftovers give more time to set up calm minds.

Threat List
Groudon- a Rock Polish Groudon lead is a 6-0 sweep. Other than that, Mewtwo OHKOs most varieties with Ice Beam after Stealth Rock. Palkia can hit it hard with Spacial Rend, and Genosect can dominate with a boosted Ice Beam

Kyogre- Palkia kills it with Thunder. Genosect can also hit it hard with thunderbolt, which is usually enough to weaken it so Mewtwo or Arceus can revenge kill. Wobbafett can revenge kill scarf varieties easily with Mirror Coat.

Mewtwo- Support Mewtwo is Encore fodder for Wobbafett, who can easily set up on him. Any Mewtwo with only Psystrike and Aura Sphere can be killed with almost absurd ease by my own Mewtwo's Ice Beam. Palkia can also OHKO with Spacial Rend after SR damage.

Lugia- Another Pokemon who is set-up fodder for Wobbafett, who then switches to Arceus, who (usually) outspeeds, Dances, and kills with Shadow Claw, or even Extremespeed if Lugia is weak enough

Ho-Oh- If SR is up, Ho-Oh can be killed by pretty much any team member with a neutral or super-effective attack.

Palkia- Palkia is very frail, and usually has a choice item. Genosect can switch into a Spacial Rend and strike back hard with Ice Beam/Thunderbolt. My own Palkia outspeeds a neutral natured one, and can OHKO with Spacial Rend. Even Mewtwo 2HKOs with Aura Sphere.

Dialga- This guy is tough. Mewtwo can OHKO offensive variants with Aura Sphere, and 2HKO the defensive ones. Genesect can hit hard with Flamethrower or Ice Beam, but usually is killed by Flamethrower. If Mewtwo is dead, my best bet is to Spacial Rend with Palkia, die, and then try to knock out the remaining HP with Genesect or Arceus.

Giratina-O- This guy is setup fodder for Wobby. He will usually use Shadow Sneak/Shadow Ball, which never OHKOs, allowing Wobby to use Encore and switch into Arceus, who totally resists ghost moves.

Zekrom- Oddly enough, I've never really found him hard to deal with. Genesect or Mewtwo can Ice Beam him, Palkia can revenge or even switch into a Bolt Strike and OHKO with Spacial Rend.

Resharim- Killed by Palkia, but is weak enough that Arceus or Mewtwo can usually kill even without a boost.

Extremekiller Arceus- The strategy with this guy is basically to A) try to encore a swords dance with wobbafett, set up with Arceus and then kill with extremespeed. B)Switch into Extremespeed with Genesect and try to kill with Flamethrower/Ice Beam.

Arceus-Dark- Genesect can switch into any attack and then try to damage heavily on the U-Turn out. Then Mewtwo can come in and OHKO with Aura Sphere. Mewtwo can also outspeed and easily revenge kill.

Foretress/Ferrothorn- Both usually try to set up something against Wobbafett, who encores it, safeguards if necessary, and then switches to Arceus who kills with Overheat.

Unaware Quagsire/Gastrodon- I hate these Pokemon. The only way to kill it is to use Taunt and then chip away at it's health with Mewtwo. If it doesn't have unaware, then I destroy it with pretty much anything.

Darkrai- If it's a lead, Deoxys-S taunts it and then sets up entry hazards anyway. If not, Genesect can kill with U-Turn if Dark Void isn't coming, and Mewtwo always OHKOs with Aura Sphere after Stealth Rock.

Deoxys-A Deoxys-S still gets Stealth Rock up against the lead version, and Arceus can kill a normal one with even an unboosted Extremespeeed.

Shadow Tag Chandalure- This guy is tough. With a scarf, he outspeed Arceus and can OHKO with Flamethrower. In the sun, he even OHKOs Wobby. Palkia can kill him, but Surf is 50% less powerful in the sun. In other words, with sun, he kills my whole team...

Shedninja- I hate this (explicit) (explicit)-Pokemon. A well played one with Focus Sash and proper Magic Mirror support destroys my whole team. The only way to stop him is to somehow kill Espeon and then set up Stealth Rock.

All right, so that's my team. Any suggestions or ways I can improve would be appreciated greatly. Thanks so much!

Hi, this is a nice team. I don't have the most experience with Ubers, but I'll give it a shot. I think a Brave nature can work on Arceus. Even with -Speed it will outspeed a lot, and the +attack is huge. Besides, Extremespeed has +2 Priority, and you are generally faster than 'Tina so you can Shadow Claw it first.

Next, what exactly does Mewtwo Taunt? Ferrothorn's Gyro Ball can damage Mewtwo greatly, Forry is Wobb fodder, etc. Speaking of Wobb, it itself can give you tons of oppurtunities to set up. IMO Taunt doesnt have much use. For this reason I would use a CM+3 attacks for Mewtwo, consisting of Psystrike, Aura Sphere, and Ice Beam. This makes you pseudo mixed, which is helpful for eating Blissey and stuff.

Well, I actually find taunt pretty helpful in shutting down walls. Taunt totally wrecks Blissey even better than Psystrike would, for example. But I will definitely try out Psystrike and see if it can get some use!

And it turns out that I can't outspeed Timid Giratina-O without significant speed EVs anyway, so I'm going to go with the Brave nature for sure.

True. Although, (one thing I forgot about) another thing you can do is give Wobb 180 Speed EVs(weird, but I mean investing in defenses isn't that useful when they're 58 base apiece) to outspeed Blissy. Then, you can Encore it and switch to Mewtwo, potentially CM twice (if the supposed Encore mechanic is fixed to 4 turns [UUSmogcast]) and laugh at Blissey with Psystrike. This will also help you against Kyogre, who takes little damage from even boosted Aura Spheres.
