Swampert@Leftovers.
Ability: Torrent.
Nature: Careful.
EV: 240 HP / 52 Def / 216 SpD.
- Stealth Rock.
- Earthquake.
- Ice Punch.
- Protect.
I like using Swampert as a lead. He can take hits, has decent power and can be used possibly later on in a battle. I use ice punch instead of ice beam due to his stronger attack. His SpA is 166. Protect is for explosion or for scouting some possible threat moves.
Scizor@ChoiceBand.
Ability: Technician.
Nature: Adamant.
EV: 240 HP / 252 Atk / 16 Spd.
- Bullet Punch.
- U-Turn.
- Pursuit.
- Superpower.
Scizor is strong. The priority move, Bullet Punch is quite impressive and makes up for speed. Although Choice Band locks me on one move, switching out when necessary isn't a problem.
Heatran@ChoiceScarf.
Ability: Flash Fire.
Nature: Naïve.
EV: 252 SpA / 4 Def / 252 Spe.
- Fire Blast.
- Earth Power.
- Explosion.
- Dragon Pulse.
Heatran with a choice scarf is fast and very usable in my team, in my opinion. I love Fire Blast, even without a boost, it is very strong. Also, since Scizor attracts Fire moves, Heatran can switch in for a quick boost.
Zapdos@LifeOrb.
Ability: Pressure.
Nature: Timid.
EV: 252 SpA / 4 HP / 252 Spd.
- Thunderbolt.
- Heatwave.
- Signal Beam.
- Roost.
Zapdos' immunity to ground type moves makes it a nice choice to switch in for Heatran when needed. I needed a Pokémon that could at least try and prevent a Gyarados DD sweep and have a Pokémon immune to Ground. Zapdos is a strong Special attacker as well. I know Hidden power Grass/Ice are ideal options, but I sadly was impatient and have a Zapdos with hidden power poison. A disappointment, but signal beam is okay-ish.. Any reccomendations for an alternative?
Starmie@ChoiceSpecs.
Ability: Natural Cure.
Nature: Timid.
EV: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe.
- Hydro Pump.
- Thunderbolt.
- Ice Beam.
- Trick.
I like using this set. It has a wide range of at least neutral damage attacks and is fun to use. Trick is quite a fun move to use, it can help cripple teams if used right. Choice Scarf may be an option just to get Trick over.
Breloom@ToxicOrb.
Ability: Poison Heal.
Nature: Adamant.
EV: 252 Atk / 4 HP / 252 Spe.
- Spore.
- Seed Bomb.
- Focus Punch.
- Stone Edge.
Breloom is my only option in countering Swampert. Although fragile and quite slow, he has a very good Sleep move along with Focus Punch. He's a little hard to really decide whether or not I can use him well, but he's not the slowest Pokémon out there and he has great power.
My team is obviously a beginner's team. I need help building and modifying this team. Advice is very welcome. My team seems to be quite fragile and too much on the offensive side, but I'm not so sure. Are there too many Choice items? Too many weaknesses? I really need advice, thanks alot~
