Yo, DarkDanny45 here, and this is my very first UU team i made. I got tired of the OU Metagame, so i decided to try my luck a few tiers lower, in the UU enviorement. My team looked pretty good, until i tested it out. Can you please help me out and Rate My Team?
Team Building Process:
I wanted to base my team around the Venusaur-Milotic combo. They have excellent synergy together, as Milotic HATES poison spikes, and Saur can absorb those. Milo can switch into the Fire attacks aimed at Saur
Then i thought, why not make it a classic Fire/Water/Grass core. I searched in UU, but i only found Blaziken as a candidate, since i wanted a mixed Fire sweeper. But when i looked in NU, i saw my perfect sweeper: Magmortar! Hopefully he will be promoted to UU sometimes :D
I knew i needed a Levitater, to switch in on the EQ's aimed at Magmortar. I first went with Uxie, but I dropped it for her pink pixie sister, Mesprit. I like her more then Uxie, because she is more balanced. She quickly became my lead.
Next, i needed some sort of Status absorber, and who could fit this role better than our favorite moon Pokemon: Clefable.
Finally, i wanted an extra sweeper. My eyes fell on Manectric. He's excellent in what he does. Cleaning up that what is left of my opponent's team.
However, Clefable didn't work so good, so i changed him to a Rhypherior. Bulky enough to take some physical hits, and enormous attack. Also has good synergy with Magmortar.
But after testing, i decided to drop Rhyperior, and put an Hitmontop in my team, as i have an enorm SD Absol weakness.
The Type Chart:
The Movesets:
Mesprit @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 52 HP, 204 Atk, 252 Spe
Nature: Jolly
Zen Headbutt
U-Turn
Stealth Rock
Trick
This is my lead, and it works very well. Her goal is to cripple other leads, and damaging them in the process. Trick to cripple Pokemon, SR is obvious, and Zen Headbutt and U-turn to damage the lead/switch-in. Max speed EV's and Jolly nature to ensure I outspeed every other lead. The Attack EV's to do damage, and the HP EV's are there to give Mesprit some bulk.
Against other leads
Uxie - I use U-turn to dent it, and switch to Manectric. If he uses Trick, he gets Choice specs and will switch out. After that, i can attack the switch-in. I'll put my rocks up later
Ambipom - I hate this thing. Most of them run Fake Out + Taunt. I Trick as they Taunt, and then use SR when he switches.
Mesprit - See Uxie
Alakazam - U-Turn straight to Clefable, cause it will Shadow Ball me to death!
Spiritomb - See Alakazam
Moltres - Trick, SR and U-Turn should do the trick (pun intended)
Hippopatos - U-turn away to Milo as they set up rocks and threaten to KO the hippo with Hydro Pump
Qwilfish - Zen Headbutt...
Venusaur @ Life Orb
Ability: Overgrow
EVs: 252 Atk, 4 Def, 252 Spe
Nature: Jolly
Power Whip
Earthquake
Synthesis
Swords Dance
Part one from the Fire/Water/Grass core. Venusaur is here to switch in the grass and water attacks aimed at Milotic and Magmortar respectively. When the opponent switches out, i'll go for a Swords Dance, and then attack with EQ or Power Whip. Synthesis can be used for stalling. As for the EV's: Max Attack and Max Speed to hit faster and harder. Jolly Nature is a must on Saur.
Milotic @ Life Orb
Ability: Marvel Scale
EVs: 252 SpAtk, 4 Def, 252 Spe
Nature: Timid
Ice Beam
Hydro Pump
Hidden Power [Grass]
Recover
Milotic is part 2 of the team's core, being an offensive water pokemon, also capable of stalling a bit with Recover. Milo has good synergy with Venusaur, who tends to draw the attention of fire types. Milo can come in on fire pokemon and threaten them with STAB Hydro Pump or attack the switch-in with Hidden Power or Ice Beam. With the given EV's, i can hit hard and fast with Hydro Pump.
Magmortar @ Expert Belt
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 84 Atk, 172 SpAtk, 252 Spe
Nature: Mild
Lava Plume
Thunderbolt
Hidden Power [Ice]
Cross Chop
Say hi to the Electivire of the NU tier, and the last pokemon in my F/G/W core: Magmortar! Because he doesn't have a cool ability like Motor Drive, doesn't mean he's completely useless. This guy can be devastating if unprepared for. Lava Plume for the high burn rate, T-bolt for water types like Milo, HP Ice for Altaria, and Cross Chop for Chansey and other special walls.
(Now testing Fire Blast>Lava Plume)
Hitmontop @ Leftovers
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 HP, 252 Atk, 4 Def
Nature: Adamant
Fake Out
Close Combat
Mach Punch
Stone Edge
I searched long for a good Pokemon to take this spot, and since many of you recommended a TechniTop, I know use this little guy to cover my SD Absol weakness. Fake Out is for priority, Close Combat is to hit Pokemon like Rhypherior, Steelix etc., Mach Punch is also for priority, although i might change that sometime to Bullet Punch, advise please! Last but not least, Stone Edge to hit Slow flying types.
Manectric @ Life Orb
Ability: Static
EVs: 4 HP, 252 SpAtk, 252 Spe
Nature: Timid
Thunderbolt
Flamethrower
Charge Beam
Hidden Power [Grass]
When my opponent is severely weakened, I usually bring out my Manectric to clean up what's left of my opponent. Thunderbolt is for STAB, Flamethrower for Grass types, and HP grass is for Lanturn, Golem, Rhypherior etc. Charge Beam to possibly net an SpAtk Boost and sweep even harder.
And that makes 6. I hope you liked this RMT and thank you for reading it. Comments and Critics are very appriciated. Thanks in advance ^^
