ORAS LC Ancient Rocks

Whats up guys, Clj555 here with my 3rd RMT, The other 2 were complete failures, but lets hope this one is less so.

Cranberries (Cranidos) @ Life Orb
Ability: Mold Breaker
Level: 5
EVs: 60 HP / 236 Atk / 212 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Rock Polish
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Zen Headbutt

My favorite fossil hype! This is my Cranidos set, Life Orb for that extra oomph that it needs to be even more threatening as a sweeper. This spread gives Cranidos Enough speed to outspeed most things that would other wise destroy it (~~Mienfoo~~) Rock Polish is another speed buff for faster, More aggressive teams, Stone Edge is that sweet sweet coverage for Fletch and pretty much anything that flies and is also a STAB attack. Earthquake is there for the unoriginal purpose of doing a lot of damage. Zen Headbutt covers fighting types like Mienfoo.

Squish (Chinchou) @ Berry Juice
Ability: Volt Absorb
Level: 5
EVs: 76 HP / 212 Def / 152 SpA / 60 Spe
Bold Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Heal Bell
- Thunderbolt

Chinchou, Covers Fletch and anything that's water. And with berry juice this thing has twice the survivability, The spread outspeeds minor threats, The defense makes it much more beefy and combo'd with the HP makes a lot of moves much more edible, Hydro Pump is the bland Water STAB, Volt Switch for escaping tight situations and switching into other mons to take the hit, This is also my Heal Bell user, To keep them annoying statuses off of my team, Thunderbolt is an electric STAB, need i say more?

Priority (Pawniard) @ Eviolite
Ability: Defiant
Level: 5
EVs: 156 Atk / 36 Def / 116 SpD / 196 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Sucker Punch
- Knock Off
- Iron Head
- Swords Dance

This is Pawniard, Pawniard is amazing. The attack and speed EVs assist it in outspeeding many threats, And easily doing much more damage, The Def and Sp.Def Is to make this guy much more...Beefy. Sucker Punch is Sucker Punch, It goes on every single Pawniard set no matter what. Knock off is the best move in the game, Hands down, Easily knocking off all those Eviolites. Iron head is the Steel STAB, Swords dance is for slower teams to charge up a sweep.

Hngh (Porygon) @ Eviolite
Ability: Trace
Level: 5
EVs: 236 HP / 196 Def / 76 SpD
Calm Nature
- Tri Attack
- Thunder Wave
- Shadow Ball
- Recover

This is Porystall, The Spread is self explanatory, Used in most Porygon sets. Tri Attack is a Normal STAB with a 10% chance to either Freeze, Burn, or Paralyze, Which is SOOOO Useful. Thunder Wave is that guarenteed Paralyze. Shadow ball handles all those Gastlys out there (~~I know you're out there~~) And recover is JUST DIE ALREADY

Yellow Midget (Abra) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Magic Guard
Level: 5
EVs: 240 SpA / 200 Spe
Timid Nature
- Psychic
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
- Protect

Abra, The quintessential Psychic type, With an enormous amount of speed and a huge Sp. Atk stat, Abra is easily psychic god. Psychic is our lord and saviors STAB Of choice, The STAB Just makes a huge Sp. Atk stat even hugererer. Shadow Ball covers Ghosts, Not much other use. HP Fighting is for Steel Types and...Normal types if needed. Protect is to keep out savior alive longer

Mouth (Diglett) @ Life Orb
Ability: Arena Trap
Level: 5
EVs: 36 HP / 236 Atk / 236 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Substitute
- Sucker Punch

HOOOOLY SHIT. Where do i even start with this guy...Arena trap keeps the dirty peasants from switching, The atk and speed buff makes it EVEN Stronger, and the HP Makes it live a little longer. This thing has the strongest EQ In the metagame, With a huge STAB And attack stat, This little bitch is frail, but godly. Rock Slide is to cover flying types who cant get hit by EQ. Substitute is to assist in letting this bitch sweep easier and take a few hits without taking real damage, Sucker Pawnch puts that huge Attack stat to use.

Annnnnd Thats the team! Feel free to leave suggestions down below! Adios!

Hi clj555, nice team you've got there but I think it has some flaws.
First of all you lack of stealth rocks, very important in the lc meta, especially if you want to attempt a sweep with Cranidos, so I suggest to run Stealth Rock over Swords Dance on Pawniard, this will make him less powerful, but it will be useful in many situation. I've noticed that your team as 3 ground weakness and not a single resistence, this can be a real problem because Diglett can get a kill almost everytime it can switch in, and pokemon like swords dance Drilbur can easily 6-0 you, so I suggest you to run Vullaby over Chinchou, Chinchou doesn't really fit your team because it doesn't cover Cranidos' weakness, and Vullaby is a nice fighting check that is a huge problem to your team at the moment, and it gives you hazard control as well. On Cranidos in my opinion choosing Sheer Force as ability over Mold Breaker grants more power from Zen Headbutt and running Rock Slide over Stone Edge will give you more power because of the Sheer Force boost. On Abra a moveset of Psychic | Hidden Power Fighting | Energy Ball | Dazzling Gleam/Knock Off over the set you've now will allow you to perform his role of sweeper better, and you don't really need Protect because fake out foo is not really common anymore. The last suggestion I have is to run Psychic over Shadow Ball on Porygon, this will allow you to have a way to lure fighting type for Cranidos and you still hit Gastly.
I hope this was helpful n__n!

Hellooo

Cranidos is rather underrated at the moment and is one of my favorite set-up sweepers so I applaud you for building a team with it. I think you can optimize your spread by changing it to 60 HP / 236 Atk / 36 Def / 36 SpD / 132 Spe with an Adamant nature. Cranidos will still hit 14 Speed, allowing it outspeed 18 Speed Scarfers and +2 Omanyte, and you can invest a bit in bulk to allow Cranidos some comfort room when eating Timburr's Mach Punch should the need arise. I agree with fran17's change of Rock Slide > Stone Edge and Sheer Force > Mold Breaker, enhancing Cranidos's offensive presence and, most notably, allowing it to net OHKOs on Timburr and Mienfoo with Zen Headbutt.

Also, you appear to be quite fond of Cranidos's RP set (which is a fantastic cleaner) yet you aren't providing direct support to aid in setting up. Mach Punch and Aqua Jet are rather common priority, yet you're lacking a reliable means of eliminating the users of these moves (Timburr, Corphish, etc.). Abra can check both for the most part but I think Gothita > Abra would be a suitable replacement, trapping both Pokemon and eliminating them with Psychic / Energy Ball, respectively. This would also provide you with a solid answer to Ferroseed (which walls Cranidos entirely), as you can either Trick it a Choice Scarf or elminate it with HP Fire.

I'm not aware of your teambuilding preferences, but I generally prefer to have only one trapper on a team unless I'm going for full Hyper Offense. If you'd like to remove Diglett from the team in order to accomodate adding Gothita, Drilbur > Diglett would serve as a solid replacement, providing your team with two forms of hazard control in Stealth Rock and Rapid Spin. By making this change, you wouldn't need to add Stealth Rock onto Pawniard, allowing it to run Swords Dance still. This would also eliminate the need for Vullaby > Chinchou, as fran17 suggested, which does leave your team slightly Diglett weak; however, as soon as it nabs a KO, you can switch in your Trace Porygon to "counter trap" it and hit it with a Tri Attack.

Speaking of Porygon, I agree with Psychic > Shadow Ball but I'd also like to suggest Ice Beam > Thunder Wave which would allow Porygon to nab a KO on Diglett 100% of the time. Thunder Wave isn't necessarily needed on your team, as your "big hitters" already have solid Speed stats or can double it in one turn (Cranidos). Ice Beam would also aid with your team's glaring weakness to a strong Earthquake, which is already helped by Gothita's ability to trap and KO Drilbur and Diglett with an Energy Ball. Alternatively, you could run a more offensive spread on Porygon which would let it KO Diglett approximately 50% of the time with Tri Attack, yet still allow it to pivot in-and-out (I'd suggest 236 HP / 36 Def / 236 SpAtk with a Modest Nature).

I would also suggest using Scald > Hydro Pump on Chinchou, as you're running a more defensively-oriented pivot variant and Scald burns would be much more beneficial than the added power provided by Hydro Pump.
Gothita @ Choice Scarf
Level: 5
Ability: Shadow Tag
EVs: 240 SpA / 240 Spe
Modest Nature
- Psychic
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Energy Ball
- Trick / Thunderbolt / Shadow Ball
Drilbur @ Eviolite
Level: 5
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 36 HP / 236 Atk / 212 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Rapid Spin
- Rock Slide
- Stealth Rock
Hopefully the team ends up looking really solid and you stick around in LC! And don't worry, this RMT wasn't even close to a failure :)
