Now on the other side, you've got a Dratini, a Ralts and a Riolu. I love Ralts, you know? They're just so huggeable and cute. Actually, all of that team is very cute, but it seems ill-suited against nightblitz's forces. Ah, who knows. At worst it will make for some good training. I also got absolutely wrecked in my first match, you know?

Now that was an interesting round, don't you think? Darumaka felt like willingly lagging behind in the beginning, what with getting hit for solid damage and cutting its own HP on top of it, but then it came back swinging and absolutely obliterated the Riou almost to oblivion.
Oh, i see you eyeing that Riolu. Yeah, doesn't look like it'll stand much longer, does it? It did good though: a continuous stream of powerful SE attacks means Darumaka is in a tight spot, even with its monstrous Attack. It even managed to paralyze it to add a bit of pressure on Nightblitz!
Now, would you mind shifting your head back a bit? I'd really like to see more than a quarter of the screen...

かたわれ時 the reason I ignored your substitution is because it's illegal: calling for "non-damaging moves" as a trigger clause is unfeasible because it'd be quite broken if it was something you could do.
If you need help on subs, this particular section of the Handbook contains much about them. You'll also find all possible clauses there.
