And so it begins... the rise of the NU!

Ever had that sensation of being overly tired of seeing the same over and over and over again? Well, I have...
Every single time would my Swampert face against a Bronzong before the first turn would even start. Every single time did I switch into Choice Banded Heracross, only to be put to sleep. And every time have I used a Sleep Talked Close Combat / Megahorn, scoring a KO. The rest would be a mystery, but the expectations never went far, as didn't the battles...
And so I quit. Only to find what would be a much more interesting metagame. In a much more interesting environment, the NU one...

Whiscash @Leftovers
Trait: Anticipation
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Nature: Relaxed
Earthquake
Hydro Pump
Ice Beam
Toxic

Bulky water leadings are welcomed even in NU, as is Swampert in OU. Does it's job exceedingly well, given the EV spread. Toxic's usefulness becomes clear in midgame, where supposedly Whiscash's disadvantage against given wall is turned against the opponent. Also note how Steels like Mawile, Bastiodon and Poisons are stopped from absorbing the move, as Whiscash is in clear advantage against said types. Being extremely light, it can take a Nasty Plotted Life Orbed Timid Plusle's Grass Knot and OHKO in a pinch.

Lopunny(F) @Leftovers
Trait: Cute Charm
EVs: 252 HP / 80 SpD / 176 Spe
Nature: Jolly
Return
Encore
Substitute
Baton Pass

Say hello to she who has made possible so many wins against OU Teams. Outspeeds
Plusle/Minun, Encores Nasty Plot and proceedes with its own plot. Wrecks havoc against stall teams, being so unexpected. I've heard "But you were supposed to use Switcheroo!" countless times. Return is there for those who believe it runs a no-attacking set and switch in weakened Pokes. Also 2HKOs Plusle, Butterfree and Minun, depending on the spread of the last.

Plusle @Life Orb
Trait: Plus
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Nature: Timid
Nasty Plot
Thunderbolt
Hidden Power (Ice)
Grass Knot

This is out most of the times when "gg" is all there is left to say. Baton Pass a Sub into this, and there you go. Base 95 Speed is extremely high in NU, making it all the more scarier.

Banette @Leftovers
Trait: Insomnia
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe
Nature: Adamant
Shadow Claw
Sucker Punch
Will-o-Wisp
Knock Off

This is what stopped Salac Swords Danced Lucario or Kabutops from ending me against my joke OU matches. Likes the Sub, especially when a Fighting move is aimed at Lopunny. Not much is left to do except strike the Sub, leaving opponents exposed to Sucker Punch. Also absorbs sleep from the likes of Parasect and Butterfree and forces switch-outs. This is normally offensive, so many get careless against an incoming WoW.

Arbok @Life Orb
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 56 SpA / 200 Spe
Nature: Naive
Gunk Shot
Earthquake
Crunch
Giga Drain

Laugh all you want, Giga Drain has served me when the Sub is on and Whiscash is their answer to my Baton Pass. 2HKOs the said and Golem, to boot. Due to the Sub, Life Orb gives me versatility and an extra kick in Giga Drain (hey, if not for that, Whiscash wouldn't be 2HKOed). The restore is always welcome, also. Ice Fang isn't needed, as no Gligars will come around in NU anytime soon.

Chimecho @Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 208 Def / 48 SpD
Nature: Calm
Psychic
Wish
Heal Bell
Hypnosis

Regardless of my explanations, I truly hate the fact that I use two Life Orbs in a Team, when previously I would refuse to use even one. Chimecho is here for it, taking hits from both sides neatly and putting things to sleep to help with the restoring. Heal Bell is self-explanatory, as unexpected Thunderwaves ruin the whole plan.

For the sake of our viewing audience, Bannete and Lopunny are currently on the NU/UU borderline, the rest are considered NU.

Anyway, nice team. It was smart to avoid being weak to SR as there are no viable NU spinners (Delibird fails tremendously at this task)

Thank, you, -Cynthia-! I did try to avoid Bugs and Flyings in general for that same reason, but I believe that many others won't do so, making the ban of Stealth Rock all the more important.

Chimecho is a definite NU and is a great supportive Pokémon indeed, however it lacks defenses. Lopunny isn't far from being kicked into UU, as 105 Base Speed is truly horrifying in NU, not to mention how versatile it is. Banette never seemed overpowered so far, by the way.
