Annoying brother...

OK, what I'm trying to do is make a team that is easy to use without much explanation or knowledge of the metagame. Obviously this is for my brother. He loves pokemon, but he barely knows about EV's, let alone IV's. So since this is an easy team, it's going to be simple and stereotypical.

Yanmega @ Wide Lens
Ability: Modest
EVs: 4 Def 252 SpAtk 252 Spd
Nature: Speed Boost
- Hypnosis
- Protect
- Air Slash
- Bug Buzz

One of the simplest and most commonly used starters. I'm going to tell him how to use each guy. "If you are up against a slower guy that you can take out, use Hypnosis, then kill (or just kill if you are faster). If you can't take him, or he is too fast use Protect, Hypnosis then switch." Special Sweeper.

Blissey @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Def 80 SpAtk 176 SpDef
Nature: Calm
- Wish
- Protect
- Toxic
- Flamethrower

Arguably the best Special Wall in the game, with a few of my own variations. Please tell me if this set is bad. Don't tell me that its bad just because its not standard. "Switch her into a Special Sweeper, and preferably a ghost move. Use Toxic, and then stall with Wish and Protect. Flamethrower provides some damage, if you really need it." I hope he will get enough expperience to be able to predict and use Wish.

Skarmory @ Leftovers
Ability: Keen Eye
EVs: 252 Hp 96 Atk 156 Def 4 Spd
Nature: Impish
- Drill Peck
- Roost
- Spikes
- Whirlwind

Completes the ever loved SkarmBliss. "Switch into a Physical Sweeper, preferably an Earthquake, set down some Spikes, and Roost away damage. Whirlwind to get a different matchup, or in case they start setting up with Dragon Dance or Calm Mind or Sword Dance or Agility etc. Drill Peck for an attacking move."

Salamence @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 120 Atk 252 SpA 136 Spe
Nature: Rash
- Brick Break
- Draco Meteor
- Flamethrower
- Crunch

Mixed Attacker, he is probably gonna use this alot because he thinks it's powerful and he likes dragons. "This guy can kill alot of teams if you use him right. Switch in on someone who is slower, and who is using Earthquake. Beware of Ice type moves as they almost always will kill you. Beware of Weavile."

Dusknoir @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs:252 HP 88 Def 168 SpDef
Nature: Adamant
- Pain Split
- Will-O-Wisp
- Thunder Punch
- Ice Punch

Mixed Wall and Rapid Spin blocker. "If you see a Rapid Spining pokemon (I'll give him a list), switch this guy in. Only do this if you already have Spikes up. WoW if he is Physical. Pain Split to recover."

Lucario @ Life Orb
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 4 HP 252 Atk 252 Spd
Nature: Adamant
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Extremespeed
- Stone Edge

Powerful Physical Sweeper, after an SD almost unstoppable. "If you think you can take a hit from your opponent, Sword Dance up. If you can take about 3-4 hits, do it again. Then just kill with super effective hits. Extremespeed for faster pokemon."

If you think something can be more effective on this team, help me out. But please make it idiot-proof enough for my brother.

EDIT: Dusknoir to have T-Punch instead of Pusuit and Blissey to have Flamethrower instead of T-Bolt and Protect instead of Aromatherapy, as it is illegal with wish.

It's clear you haven't tested this team, a prerequisite to posting, as Wish + Aromatherapy is illegal on Blissey and Shoddy would have stopped you before you could save.

As for a very quick and dirty rate it doesn't look like you have very many major weaknesses that I can see at a glance, and most of the sets are okay I guess. I may come back and help with more time, but remember: test your team before you bring it here.

I'm not liking how DDTar can set up on Skarmory and Blissey and from there pretty much pillage your team, particularly Taunt variants. Crunching SDLuke will also be a problem as your Salamence doesn't have the bulk at the moment to take it on. Taunt Gyarados is a bitch to beat, as are Mixape and DDMence.

As Chris has mentioned, Aromatherapy and Wish is illegal, so you'll probably have to remove one at some point. Personally, here I would bulk up your Salamence, making it into a bulky Dragon Dancer with DD/Outrage/Earthquake/Roost. An EV spread of 252Hp / 76Spe / rest in Atk with a Jolly nature puts you ahead of Adamant Lucario, whilst maintaining decent bulk and offensive power.

From there, as you have a decent late-game cleaner in Salamence, I would probably lose Lucario for a ReSTalk Rhyperior. This will force switches pretty nicely with those great dual STABs and high attack, allowing you to rack up Spikes damage really quite quickly, as well as giving you a solid answer to Tyranitar and Salamence who otherwise fuck you up. As you now have a status absorber, you can drop Aromatherapy on Blissey for something more worthwhile. Probably Protect. I'd also go Flamethrower > Thunderbolt really, as you hit more of the stuff that is immune to Toxic harder. Gyarados is relatively easily sorted; lose Pursuit on Dusknoir, as his Pursuit won't do much damage anyway and it makes a good counter to Taunt Gyara with it (Skarm can WW offensive Gyara)

After that, I would consider losing Yanmega (doesn't really fit here with 4x SR weak and no spinner) for a Tentacruel, who can counter Mixape pretty well for you, absorb Toxic Spikes that neuter half your team, and can Rapid Spin in a pinch.

Hope that helps :)

@Chris is Me the teams for his/her little brother and supposed to be simple, probably for friends, against shoddy its probably not gonna be incredible against complex teams because its supposed to be simple so testing this even though in the rules probably wouldnt work as well as its supposed to since countering some threats may be to complicated for his brother

tell me if im wrong about that, for your little brother it looks alright

How do you assemble a whole team without a single poke that has an electric move? Dragon Dance Gyarados almost definitely 6-0s this team every time.

Yeah, what Chris is saying is that the team should really be tested before posting it if possible. Obviously that's not always plausible when it's a WiFi team and the OP is either unaware of or cannot work Shoddybattle on their PC, but it makes it much more appealing to raters when all the basic flaws such as illegal move combinations have been removed.

reachzero; Blissey currently has Tbolt lol. Not that it really makes a difference as Gyara still rapes here.

BTW i made this team in about 15 minutes so...yeah.

Aromatherapy with wish is illegal, oh, that is why ive never used it. I saw that and was like, why have i never used that?

No i have not tested it, im making it really quickly so i can get back to my own teams.

Any more weaknesses? beside gyara?
