Another attempt at a BT Team Rate!

Ok, so this is a team that I've recently created and I think they cover each others' weaknesses fairly well, so without further adeu here's the team:

Kingdra@Choice Specs/Sniper
Modest
EVs: 4 HP/252 SpA/252 Spe
~Draco Meteor
~Surf/Hydro Pump
~HP Electric
~Ice Beam/Dragon Pulse

Comments: I was planning on this being my lead/special sweeper for the team and having only one weakness, that being dragon, I think it's a pretty good lead. The only problem that I have with it is if I use Draco Meteor, it's only a one shot only before I have to switch out as Choice Specs hinders me from using its' other moves.

Gyarados@Leftovers
Adamant/Jolly
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk./252 Spe
~Dragon Dance
~Waterfall
~Ice Fang/Stone Edge
~Stone Edge/Earthquake

Comments: The physical sweeper of the team and being able to drop the opponents' attack one stage upon switching out is a plus to using Gyarados. But, to be a major threat to the opponent, he has to Dragon Dance up to sweep things. He only brings two weaknesses to the team which isn't all that bad.

Tangrowth@Leftovers
Adamant
EVs: 240 HP/232 Atk./36 Spe
~Swords Dance
~Power Whip
~Rock Slide/EQ
~Stun Spore/Sleep Powder

Comments: This is a kind of redundant gyarados, where he's bulky and requires a few swords dances to actually sweep something, and to do this he has access to both Stun Spore and Sleep Powder. I don't know which is more useful, being able to paralyze any opponent then proceeding to SD up while the opponent either attacks or is fully paralyzed. Or the opponent is put to sleep and you then proceed the same way with paralysis. The only downside to these are lum berry holders and synchronizers(not so much sleep). I think Stun Spore is the better of the two options as it lasts throughout the entire battle unless the opponent has Lum Berry, where you'd just use Stun Spore again and Natural Cure opponents such as Starmie. Sleep Powder wouldn't last as long as the opponent could wake up early or there are Early Bird pokes that could be troublesome also.

THE END!

So that's the end of my Battle Tower team, so rate away and try to make this team as best as it can possibly be.

Yeah but pretty much anything with OHKO moves kills this team no matter what besides a pokemon with the Sturdy ability so yeah....

I personally prefer swords dance leafeon over tangrowth. Either way, I think tangrowths speed is a liability in this...

Unless the opposing pokemon has no moves that hit neutral, that tangrowth is going to have to take a shitload of damage to get off a stun spore and two swords dances. If you try to sleep them, they are gonna wake up in a turn or max two anyways because that's how the tower rolls. Think he's up for it? I doubt it.

If you're using BT, then you need heavy offence, and I mean Heavy, since these battles are very fast paced and usually last around 5-6 turns on average. A main change I would reccomend is Banding or Scarfing Gyarados to allow for faster and more powerful hits. That, or CB Mence.

your gonna have to find a different item then leftovers..

can't use the same item more then once in BT

You violate the item clause.

The key to battle tower teams, is to pack heavy offense quick. Setting up shouldn't be needed. By the time your Tangrowth sets up, bam it's game over. Since Gyara is 4x weak to electric I would consider using some sort of Garchomp, or hell even Electivire could work in BT with his ability to hit almost everything.

Yeah I'm completely restructuring a new Battle Tower team and I'm finally done with it, thanks for the suggestions guys!

Why do people say that setting up is bad in the Battle Tower?

Setting up something to sweep an entire team at once is probably the most effective strategy there is in the BT.

Yeah I was about to say something about that, with my mini Baton Passing team, which failed of course, I set up Garchomp with a Belly Drum pass and it was pretty much game over for the opponent right there unless of course they had a Quick Claw and OHKO move:(

Anyway, here's what I think:

Choice Specs Kingdra is just an inferior Choice Specs Salamence.

Salamence has Intimidate, which is an advantage right off the bat. Salamence also has the raw power that Kingdra doesn't have (Draco Meteor from Salamence OHKO's a lot of stuff that Kingdra doesn't).

Gyarados is fine. Adamant nature with DD/Waterfall/EQ/Ice Fang is the way to go. Wacan Berry can be a good item for it given Item Clause is in effect.

I don't see Tangrowth doing much for your team. It's bulky, but has no method of recovery. It has horrible speed and typing for a sweeper, you can't wall much with no recovery.

OHKO's are bad news for you in general. You absolutely must have a method of dealing with them (Substitute, Focus Sash on someone, Sturdy poke, etc...).

Well since I redesigned this team I pretty much handle all the problems that you listed this team has, it's kind of funny in a way:)
