Another Exciting Warstory from Shelcario!

Hi again, this is only my second warstory for Smogon and I don't think that my first warstory went over too well when I posted it way back when. Anyway to stop all my yammering I'm just going to get started, this is a match between me and a guy named: justsomedude86

-justsomedudes' text will look like this.
-my text will look like this.
-my comments will look like this.
-other text will look like this.
-Rotom is Wash Form
-Pokemon that have leftovers: Swampert,Slowking,Vespiquen,Bronzong

justsomedude86 sent out Honchkrow (lvl 100 Honchkrow ?).
Shelcario sent out Bronzong (lvl 100 Bronzong).
justsomedude86 switched in Clefable (lvl 100 Clefable ?).
Bronzong used Stealth Rock.
Pointed stones float in the air around your foe's team!
Clefable was burned!

Ok so I lead off with my Bronzong who is on my team solely for sleeping the opponent and setting up Stealth Rock. He leads off with Honchkrow but not facing too many Honchkrows' I didn't really know what to expect from him. Instead of wasting a great opportunity to set up stealth rocks I use Stealth Rocks and to great success. He switches out Honchkrow for Clefable, now realizing that Clefable was just burned this set had to be either the bulky belly drumming set or the toxic orb abuse set. Either way I manage to lay down the rocks and now have a decent entry hazard for his team.

---
Shelcario switched in Salamence (lvl 100 Salamence ?).
Salamence's intimidate cut Clefable's attack!
Clefable used Encore.
But it failed!
Clefable was hurt by its burn!

Seeing how none of the listed analysis sets for the Bulky drummer or Toxic Orb abuse sets don't list Encore as an option I'm now thinking that this is one of those new sets created by someone or just a mishmash of annoying moves. I get a switchin to Salamence who for the team is there and only there for his great attacking abilities and for that reason is fulfilling a mixed sweeper role for the team.

---
Salamence used Draco Meteor.
Clefable lost 61% of its health.
Salamence's special attack was harshly lowered.
Salamence lost 10% of its health.
Clefable used Ice Beam.
It's super effective!

Salamence lost 90% of its health.
Shelcario's Salamence fainted.
Clefable was hurt by its burn!

5-6(opponent)

Not knowing how bulky Clefable was, I was going to Brick Break the annoying little pink Blissey wannabe for the super effective damage. But, for some reason I opted for Draco Meteor as not too many pokemon can take a Life Orb'ed STAB'ed Draco Meteor from Salamence who's not prepared for it but, I realize now that I should have used Brick Break as Clefable is obviously capable of taking powerful special attacks. Maybe Clefable is just a UU version of Blissey with weight loss:) This little misplay costs me my mixed attacking flying dragon:(

---
Shelcario switched in Lucario (lvl 100 Lucario ?).
Lucario used Close Combat.
It's super effective!
Clefable lost 39% of its health.
justsomedude86's Clefable fainted.

Lucario's defence was lowered.
Lucario's special defence was lowered.

5-5 (even)

Deciding on a good switchin on a weakened Clefable I switch in Lucario who gladly finishes off Clefable with a swift Close Combat to the stomach.
---
justsomedude86 switched in Swampert (lvl 100 Swampert ?).
Pointed stones dug into Swampert.
Swampert lost 6% of its health.

Shelcario switched in Vespiquen (lvl 100 Vespiquen ?).
Vespiquen is exerting its pressure!
Swampert used Stealth Rock.
Swampert's leftovers restored its health a little!
Swampert restored 6% of its health.

Not wanting to take a STAB Earthquake from Swampert I switch to one of my many ground levitators you could call them. But, seeing in my opponents' eyes what could possibly happen here he also sees that I'm going to switch Lucario out rather than risk a STAB Earthquake coming my way. He opts to set up Stealth Rocks to give me some more trouble, only 2 of my pokemon on my team are really truly bothered by Stealth Rocks. One of them is Salamence but he's not coming back anytime soon and Vespiquen who takes a hefty 50% from the little entry hazard.
---
justsomedude86: thumbs up for the uu :)
Shelcario: yeah
justsomedude86 switched in Ninetales (lvl 100 Ninetales ?).
Pointed stones dug into Ninetales.
Ninetales lost 25% of its health.

Vespiquen used Toxic.
Ninetales was badly poisoned!
Ninetales is hurt by poison!
Ninetales lost 6% of its health.

Having set up Stealth Rocks thanks to his Swampert he now finds it time to get out of there not wanting to risk any damage although he could probably take a few hefty physical attacks aimed at him. His Ninetales comes in to try and force Vespiquen out and, what kind of an idiot would leave a bug in against a fire fox? Maybe a truly crazy person, anyway I manage to Toxic the fox but I don't think that it will really matter as Ninetales is already fragile as it is.

---
Shelcario switched in Rotom-w (lvl 100 Rotom-w).
Pointed stones dug into Rotom-w.
Rotom-w lost 12% of its health.
Ninetales used Hypnosis.
Ninetales's attack missed!
Ninetales is hurt by poison!
Ninetales lost 12% of its health.

Switching in the only pokemon who can take pretty much all of Ninetales' attacks and can OHKO back with one of its' signature moves, Hydro Pump, Rotom-W. This is probably my first time using one of the new Rotom forms and I'm fairly happy with how he functions in battle, usually KO'ing the opponents' pokemon in either 1 or 2 hits from his powerful STAB'ed attacks coming off of base 105 Special Attack which I believe is a great improvement from the previous Rotom and he's more bulky, another great reason to use him on your teams. Anyway, back to the battle he Hypnosis's (I guess that's right) to no avail.

---
Ninetales used Hypnosis.
Ninetales's attack missed!

Rotom-w used Shadow Ball.
Ninetales lost 56% of its health.
justsomedude86's Ninetales fainted.

5-4 (me actually)

Hypnosis misses once again, you have to hate that 10% accuracy drop from the shift to Platinum (probably what my opponent was thinking at this point). Rotom-w then KOs with a STAB'ed Shadow Ball, I guess the poison damage did help me somewhat, thanks Vespiquen.

---
Shelcario: i hate hypnosis' new accuracy
justsomedude86: haha seriously ><
justsomedude86 switched in Honchkrow (lvl 100 Honchkrow ?).
Pointed stones dug into Honchkrow.
Honchkrow lost 25% of its health.

Shelcario switched in Porygonz (lvl 100 Porygonz).
Porygonz's Download raised its stats!
Porygonz's special attack was raised.
Pointed stones dug into Porygonz.
Porygonz lost 12% of its health.
Honchkrow used Sucker Punch.
But it failed!

His Honchkrow switchin gets a nasty 25% chunk of health taken off thanks to the usefulness of Stealth Rock. Seeing how Rotom-w is carrying Specs and is locked into Shadow Ball I see no reason to keep him in so a switch is in order. Yes Porygon-Z, how could I pass up the chance on a pokemon who has a base Special Attack of 135!!! He decides to Sucker Punch into nothing and now seeing that move, shows me that this is more than likely a physical honchkrow.

---
Porygonz used Ice Beam.
It's super effective!
Honchkrow lost 75% of its health.
justsomedude86's Honchkrow fainted.

5-3 (early lead in battle does not mean you win)

Not wanting to waste anymore time I decide to finish off his dark crow quickly and painlessly by freezing him into next year:)

---
justsomedude86 switched in Slowking (lvl 100 Slowking ?).
Pointed stones dug into Slowking.
Slowking lost 12% of its health.

Shelcario switched in Vespiquen (lvl 100 Vespiquen ?).
Vespiquen is exerting its pressure!
Pointed stones dug into Vespiquen.
Vespiquen lost 50% of its health.
Slowking used Light Screen.
A barrier was formed!

Vespiquen's leftovers restored its health a little!
Vespiquen restored 6% of its health.
Slowking's leftovers restored its health a little!
Slowking restored 6% of its health.

Now Slowking comes in, not seeing too many Slowkings' like Honchkrows I have no clue what set it's running. Seeing as how Slowbros are usually running a bulky set I would imagine the same for Slowkings and my suspicions are correct as he takes the time to set up Light Screen though most of my pokemon are mixed sweepers. Vespiquen, I decide, rears its' bug/bee head at Slowking as he is weak to Vespiquens' moves and mine's packing attack order so.....
---
Vespiquen used Toxic.
Slowking was badly poisoned!
Slowking used Surf.

Vespiquen lost 34% of its health.
Vespiquen's leftovers restored its health a little!
Vespiquen restored 6% of its health.
Slowking's leftovers restored its health a little!
Slowking restored 6% of its health.
Slowking is hurt by poison!
Slowking lost 6% of its health.

I decide to poison Slowking on the off chance that Attack Order won't OHKO him. It's better to be safe than sorry right!?
---
Vespiquen used Roost.
Vespiquen restored 50% of its health.
Slowking lost 12% of its health.

I take this turn to heal off the Stealth Rock damage that was done to Vespiquen a few turns ago while he continues to Surf for reasonable damage. Seeing as how his Surfs are easily healed off by Vespiquens' Roosts and the Toxic poison damage is racking up I'm going to try and stall a little bit...
---
justsomedude86 switched in Hitmonchan (lvl 100 Hitmonchan ?).
Pointed stones dug into Hitmonchan.
Hitmonchan lost 6% of its health.

Vespiquen used Roost.
Vespiquen restored 50% of its health.

But, to no avail as he probably sees what I'm trying to do and switches in the punching demon that is Hitmonchan. Well the good news about this turn, Vespiquen is back up to full health:)
---
Shelcario switched in Rotom-w (lvl 100 Rotom-w).
Pointed stones dug into Rotom-w.
Rotom-w lost 12% of its health.
Hitmonchan used Substitute.
Hitmonchan lost 25% of its health.
Hitmonchan made a substitute!
Hitmonchan's light screen wore off!

Switchin to Rotom-w allows for Hitmonchan to set up a Substitute and for the light screen to wear off which wasn't helping too much anyway. There are a couple of things that could happen here, I could a) switch back to someone who can take Hitmonchans' attacks fairly nicely such as Bronzong b) stay in, being immune to most of Hitmonchans' attacks thanks to Rotoms' ghost typing or c) attack, attack, attack!!!!

---
Rotom-w used Thunderbolt.
The substitute took damage for Hitmonchan!
Hitmonchan's substitute faded!
Hitmonchan used Ice Punch.

Rotom-w lost 40% of its health.

I opt for a combination of choices b and c to stay in absorb a hit and then I plan to......
---
justsomedude86 switched in Swampert (lvl 100 Swampert ?).
Pointed stones dug into Swampert.
Swampert lost 6% of its health.

Rotom-w used Thunderbolt.
It doesn't affect Swampert...
Swampert's leftovers restored its health a little!
Swampert restored 6% of its health.

Get Rotom-w's Thunderbolt get nullified by the mudfish, Swampert>:( Now being locked into Thunderbolt and not seeing the opponent switching out I am forced to make a switch.
---
Shelcario switched in Porygonz (lvl 100 Porygonz).
Porygonz's Download raised its stats!
Porygonz's special attack was raised.
Pointed stones dug into Porygonz.
Porygonz lost 12% of its health.
Swampert used Ice Beam.
Porygonz lost 27% of its health.

I make a switch to Porygon-Z who will hopefully take down the massive mudfish. Even if the opponent does decide to switch the pokemon coming in is going to take a nice amount of damage from Porygon-Z's Tri-Attack.
---
justsomedude86 switched in Slowking (lvl 100 Slowking ?).
Pointed stones dug into Slowking.
Slowking lost 12% of its health.

Porygonz used Tri Attack.
Slowking lost 40% of its health.
Slowking's leftovers restored its health a little!
Slowking restored 6% of its health.
Slowking is hurt by poison!
Slowking lost 6% of its health.

Slowking comes back in and is now in KO range from another Tri Attack from Porygon-Z. You can now foresee the obvious play coming up...
---
Porygonz used Tri Attack.
Slowking lost 35% of its health.
justsomedude86's Slowking fainted.

5-2

Porygon-Z snatches a KO for me and I'm actually not too glad to see Slowking go down as now.....

---
justsomedude86 switched in Hitmonchan (lvl 100 Hitmonchan ?).
Pointed stones dug into Hitmonchan.
Hitmonchan lost 6% of its health.
Hitmonchan used Mach Punch.
It's super effective!

Porygonz lost 48% of its health.
Shelcario's Porygonz fainted.

4-2 (still me)

The punching fiend comes in to end my virtual duck's life with a punch so fast that not even a Claydol could've seen coming (I say this because Claydol has so many eyes:)
---
Shelcario switched in Vespiquen (lvl 100 Vespiquen ?).
Vespiquen is exerting its pressure!
Pointed stones dug into Vespiquen.
Vespiquen lost 50% of its health.
Hitmonchan used Substitute.
Hitmonchan lost 25% of its health.
Hitmonchan made a substitute!

Vespiquen used Roost.
Vespiquen restored 50% of its health.

I bring in Vespiquen to somewhat wall his Hitmonchan, though I don't think that Vespiquen can take too many Ice Punches. Well it's worth a shot at least. I've shrunk this down so you can choose to skip over or read at your will.
---
Hitmonchan used Ice Punch.
It's super effective!
Vespiquen lost 42% of its health.

Vespiquen used Defend Order.
Vespiquen's defence was raised.
Vespiquen's special defence was raised.
Vespiquen's leftovers restored its health a little!
Vespiquen restored 6% of its health.
---
justsomedude86: lol damn this is gonna b fun
justsomedude86: nice vesp
Hitmonchan used Ice Punch.
It's super effective!

Vespiquen lost 29% of its health.
Vespiquen used Defend Order.
Vespiquen's defence was raised.
Vespiquen's special defence was raised.
Vespiquen's leftovers restored its health a little!
Vespiquen restored 6% of its health.
---
Shelcario: thanks
Hitmonchan used Ice Punch.
It's super effective!

Vespiquen lost 20% of its health.
Vespiquen used Roost.
Vespiquen restored 50% of its health.
Vespiquen's leftovers restored its health a little!
Vespiquen restored 6% of its health.
---
Hitmonchan used Ice Punch.
It's super effective!
Vespiquen lost 22% of its health.
Vespiquen used Defend Order.
Vespiquen's defence was raised.
Vespiquen's special defence was raised.
Vespiquen's leftovers restored its health a little!
Vespiquen restored 6% of its health.
---
Hitmonchan used Ice Punch.
It's super effective!
A critical hit!

Vespiquen lost 61% of its health.
Shelcario's Vespiquen fainted.

3-2 (see what I mean)

In the end Vespiquens' even defenses are no match for the power of a critical Ice Punch delivered by Hitmonchan. Now that my pokemon are becoming less and less, it's now becoming harder and harder to manage a switchin.
---
Shelcario: awesome
Shelcario switched in Bronzong (lvl 100 Bronzong).
Pointed stones dug into Bronzong.
Bronzong lost 6% of its health.
justsomedude86: ><
Hitmonchan is tightening its focus!
Bronzong used Earthquake.
The substitute took damage for Hitmonchan!
Hitmonchan's substitute faded!
Hitmonchan used Focus Punch.
Bronzong lost 84% of its health.
Bronzong's leftovers restored its health a little!
Bronzong restored 6% of its health.

I bring Bronzong in to hopefully be able to block and KO Hitmonchan as my team doesn't like dealing with it. Bronzong unfortunately takes a hefty amount of damage from Hitmonchans' Focus Punch.
---
Hitmonchan used Mach Punch.
Bronzong lost 16% of its health.
Shelcario's Bronzong fainted.

2-2 (crap, even)

This was the only thing left to do by the opponent to take my steel toilet seat thing down. Now there's only one reasonable switchin that I can do...
---
Shelcario switched in Rotom-w (lvl 100 Rotom-w).
Pointed stones dug into Rotom-w.
Rotom-w lost 12% of its health.
Rotom-w used Shadow Ball.
Hitmonchan lost 39% of its health.
justsomedude86's Hitmonchan fainted.

2-1 (getting down to the wire)

Rotom-w finally takes down Hitmonchan but, he's getting really weak, so I don't know how much longer he can last. His last pokemon comes in, Swampert.

---
justsomedude86 switched in Swampert (lvl 100 Swampert ?).
Pointed stones dug into Swampert.
Swampert lost 6% of its health.

Rotom-w used Shadow Ball.
Swampert lost 53% of its health.
Swampert used Ice Beam.
Rotom-w lost 23% of its health.
Shelcario's Rotom-w fainted.
Swampert's leftovers restored its health a little!
Swampert restored 6% of its health.

1-1 (close now)

I use Shadow Ball to get some extra damage on the opponents' last pokemon and what damage it is, more than half. Swampert then takes my ghostly washing machine down with a Icey Beam.
---
Shelcario switched in Lucario (lvl 100 Lucario ?).
Pointed stones dug into Lucario.
Lucario lost 3% of its health.
justsomedude86: cmon swampert take that hit
justsomedude86: its probably your game lol
justsomedude86: :)
Lucario used Close Combat.

Swampert lost 30% of its health.
Lucario's defence was lowered.
Lucario's special defence was lowered.

Swampert used Earthquake.
It's super effective!

Lucario lost 97% of its health.
Shelcario's Lucario fainted.
justsomedude86 wins!
Shelcario: i don't think it can
Shelcario: damn
justsomedude86: whew
Shelcario: gg
justsomedude86: gg indeed
justsomedude86 has left the room.

0-1 (gg justsomedude86)

Props:

~Rotom-W for being awesome!
~Porygon-Z for netting a kill
~My opponent for winning
~Opponents' Hitmonchan for killing so many of my pokes

Slops:

~My battling skills
~Useless switchins when I could of saved myself the trouble and just stayed in (poor Vespiquen:(

Thanks for taking the time to read this long warstory of mine and I hope that it's better than my first one!

That was pretty good actually. I enjoyed the use of some seldom seen Pokemon like Ninetales and Slowking in OU. And Porygon-Z is always a pain to face when you don't have a Ghost handy :P

This was an awesome warstory. It sure does beat warstories where everyone is using 'Tran, 'Dos, Scizor, etc...the only thing interesting about them is the way the players, well, play.

This warstory puts rarely seen pokemon into the spotlight and was great material for a warstory.

As mentioned, some grammer mistakes, like when Swampert switches into your thunderbolt.

(I would put Salamence under the slops section, lol)

Fun read. I can tell this is the team on your RMT. You are lucky this dude had a ninetails instead of a scarf tran, cuz after the mence is gone, nothing can stop a male scarf heatran from raping you.

That was pretty good, the only gripe I have with it is the text colors. The purple and blue look somewhat similar, so even though you had the comments spaced out from the regular battle text, it still looks rather odd. Perhaps if you bolded the battle text next time?

Btw, at the beginning you connect the Flame Orb on Clefable with the Belly Drummer...why would a Belly Drum Clefable hold a Flame Orb and lower attack?

Yeah if someone could give me that image.

You can snag it from Serebii's website, although it's not as easy as it could be since Serebii disables right-clicking. If you have Firefox, "Page Info" under the "Tools" tab will make things easier, but I'm not sure how to do it for IE or other browsers.

Btw, at the beginning you connect the Flame Orb on Clefable with the Belly Drummer...why would a Belly Drum Clefable hold a Flame Orb and lower attack?

I have no clue why I'd connect it with that, maybe the opponent just forgot that it was supposed to be Toxic Orb instead of Flame Orb?

This is sweet. I liked basically everything but that crit on your bee wasn't too good (for you..).

For once, I see Vespi on a team. Is it because of Stealth rock fears that she's not payed often? Really liked it, though yesh, the colored text...maybe you should bold yours and leave the color in so it's easier to read? (just a suggestion-no big deal)

Nice plays on both sides-I wouldn't be able to predict a Hitmonchan in an OU environment, though.
