Another Hail Team

Introduction:
So I had heard of hail's great place in doubles and had seen it myself. People love to use pokemon weak to ice, from the Kami trio to the pseudo-legendary dragons. Part of the team loves to spam blizzard, and it works. The entire team has great synergy though, and some extra speed where most don't expect it (Looking at the scarfs). I have had some success with the team, but I don't know to polish off the team. I need someone else to look at it from their perspective.

(Note: I may need lots of help with my evs)

Abomasnow @ Focus Sash
Trait: Snow Warning
EVs: 252 SDef / 248 HP / 8 SAtk
Calm Nature
- Blizzard
- Focus Blast
- Giga Drain
- Protect

For a hail team, who doesn't use Abomasnow? Abomasnow has a great stab combo in Blizzard and Giga Drain. To make sure I win the weather war, I let it hold a focus sash to let me switch and get hail back. Hail in my team is mainly to break sashes and let me abuse a 100% accurate blizzard with some of my other pokemon. Of course, having hail also lets me stop teams that rely too much on its weather. Focus Blast has actually come in handy to kill off Tyranitar and Excadrill, and protect always comes in handy in a doubles match.

manaphy.gif

Manaphy @ Leftovers
Trait: Hydration
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Modest Nature
- Tail Glow
- Blizzard
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Scald

Manaphy is surprisingly not very common where I play in doubles. With an excellent boosting move in Tail Glow, it is really a force to be reckoned with. A base 100 speed isn't bad either. Blizzard is the obvious move for a hail team, and is definitely the move I use most in this set. Hidden power fire is mainly to kill off steel types like Ferrothorn and scald is my stab of choice, and is useful considering how many fire types Abomasnow lures onto the field. I find Manaphy very easy to switch in and is kind of the glue of my team.

kyurem-black.gif

Kyurem-Black @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Teravolt
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SAtk
Naive Nature
- Blizzard
- Outrage
- Fusion Bolt
- Earth Power

Ahhhh, the pure force of Kyurem-Black. Tanky enough to take a hit, strong enough to kill all the things. This is the first of my scarfers on the field. Its great how many people don't expect to see a giant fat dragon outspeeding stuff. As expected, this thing is my sweeper. With a plethora of resistances and a strong stat total, it also finds a lot of times to switch in. There's not much else to say, its the sheer power that ends the game for me.

mamoswine-f.gif

Mamoswine @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard
- Icicle Crash
- Rock Slide

Another Choice Scarfer on my team. Again, people don't expect a fast mammoth pig. It is the main Quaker of my DisQuake combo. DisQuake. DatQuake. Zapdos has an easy chance at moving first with its scarf, and quickly followed up by a strong EQ from Mamoswine. Earthquake is an easy move to abuse with a flying type, and Abomasnow can also take an EQ easily. It also helps take out any fire types that threaten my team oh so much. If I were to replace a team member, it would probably be this guy because its synergy with the team is probably the weakest.

landorus-therian.gif

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Yache Berry
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Impish Nature
- Rock Slide
- Protect
- U-turn
- Superpower

Landorus is very useful on my team. Intimidate on a fighting type is really important for a team like mine to win. Rock slide is the main move I abuse, and again, I have protect. U-Turn is a great option for a psychic type and a trick room team and superpower kills Tyranitar and other easy targets. The easiest thing to notice about Landorus may be its quad weakness to ice. I find myself switching into Manaphy a lot. Mamoswine can abuse his great EQ with a rock slide to kill off flying types.

zapdos.gif

Zapdos @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Heat Wave
- Discharge
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Zapdos is the Dis of the DisQuake. Discharge with Mamoswine or Landorus is really great to knocking out opponents. If Zapdos finds itself with another mon, then thunderbolt can be used. Zapdos is scarfed as well, because the extra speed is great on any team and its ability to take out pokemon quickly is its best quality. Heat wave is there to take out grass types coming in to get Mamoswine and the common Venusaur lead in the sun. It also kills Ferrothorn, which makes me happy. Hidden power ice is mostly there to kill dragon types late game and to fill a move slot, to be honest.

If you need anything else, let me know. Actually, if you have any thoughts, let me know.

You could try Slowking>Manaphy. It seems that Manaphy has a lot of pressure to switch in repeatedly and Slowking can handle that better with instant recovery and regenerator. You also get another fighting check which is important in doubles, especially on a hail team with 3 ice types.
The two are similar in bulk and power, just swap out HP Fire for the vastly superior Fire Blast and Tail Glow for Heal Pulse(or whatever else you want like Slack Off).

All right, I replaced Manaphy with Slowking and it was a really good addition to the team, so thank you. I opted for flamethrower instead of fire blast because the accuracy can mess up a doubles battle hard. I've recently been having trouble with trick room, so any suggestions there? I hate conkeldurr most of all.

You have a pretty good variety of surprises in store for your opponents, here are some suggestions to handle threats and add some consistency:

1) Choice Scarves

⦁ Three Choice Scarves is a lot, and while they give you a speed boost and an element of surprise, you are trading off flexibility each time. Getting locked into the wrong move can be bad news and it's more likely to happen in doubles. One Choice Scarfer can help you get that extra turn you need to pull out a win. Two Choice Scarfers is pretty unexpected and you could still probably make the reward worth the risk in many cases. Three Choice Scarfers is giving up flexibility for half the team and opens you up to lots of risk that probably isn't necessary.
⦁ Other teams using Tailwind, Trickroom, Faster Choice Scarfers, Focus Sashes, or even Fake Out, Follow me, Rage Powder, or good prediction could give you trouble. If you are going for a boost to speed for multiple Pokemon I think Tailwind would be more beneficial.
⦁ Perhaps adding Tailwind to Zapdos and switching the Choice Scarfs on Zapdos and Mamoswine for Gems or Life Orbs would give you a 2x speed boost (as opposed to 1.5x) and also some extra power and flexibility that could greatly increase the damage you can deal.

2) Trick Room & Conkeldurr

⦁ You mentioned you were having trouble with Trick Room and specifically Conkeldurr. Switching Manaphy to Slowking should be helping with both issues, but your team still is focused on fast offensive Pokemon. You also have 3 weaknesses to Fighting and 2 of the others are weak to Ice, which is a common coverage move on Fighting types.
⦁ It would probably benefit you to change a pokemon; maybe Mamoswine since you already have other Ground types and Ice types.
⦁ Jellicent is usually a good counter for Conkeldurr since most players choose to use Ice Punch as their coverage move instead of Payback. He can be used effectively to stall Trick Room teams, or reverse the Trick Room, and he also gives you some support against the Fire and Ice types that threaten the rest of your team. As a bonus he can use Blizzard and Hail to fit right into your team. You could even give him Psychic specifically to deal with Fighting Types. Chandelure is another option that gives you most of the same advantages.
⦁ Another route you could take is to use a Prankster like Whimsicott with Encore. Encore on a Prankster can really mess with people in doubles, especially Trick Room teams. When a pokemon uses Trick Room on the first turn, you can use Encore on the second turn to force them to reverse the Trick Room. Also, many times the teammate of the Trick Room user will Protect or Fake Out on the first turn; which you can use to trap them with an Encore on the second turn - this is especially true for Conkeldurr who will usually Protect on the first turn regardless so his Flame Orb can trigger Guts.

3) Hail?

⦁ Your team doesn't seem to get much extra value from Hail, only Abomasnow, B-Kyurem and perhaps your new Slowking are using Blizzard. None of their abilities gain extra boosts from Hail and B-Kyurem is more of physical attacker. It seems like you could improve the team by either putting more emphasis on the benefits of Hail or moving away from it entirely.
⦁ Switching B-Kyurem to Kyurem might be a move in a better direction to give you a stronger Blizzard that still fits on a very powerful mixed attacker. You could also switch to a Scarfed Glaceon to get the powerful Blizzard and gain an evasion boost from Snow Cloak, but that would sacrifice your mixed attacker.
⦁ Beyond that, the more Blizzards the better is a simple but good choice. Great power, perfect accuracy, a chance to break thru Protect, and two chances to get a Freeze is a pretty compelling reason to just keep spamming it from as many Pokemon as possible.

Your team has some good things going for it, I hope these ideas help your team to add some versatility that gets you through close matches.

I hope I was able to help somewhat, and good luck with your team. ^_^

Thank you so much Eyedol. You are my new Eyedol? Your post was exactly what I needed, a good way to help me step back and look at my team again. I will be testing your suggestions like whimsicott, kyurem, and jellicent. In addition, I will be testing other items on my mons. I'll get back here for my final team
