Introduction

Hello Smogon! This is my first post on the forum and I wanted to share the first not terrible team I've made. It centers around Sticky Webs. Thanks for any constructive criticism and suggestion (on the team and the RMT itself)!

Teambuilding Process

I initially built the team with Gardevoir, Victini and Smeargle just to try them out. The idea of spamming V-Create with LO-Victini thanks to the webs also sounded fun to me.

Then I added SD-Kartana as my setup sweepers because I've read it does well with the webs. I also added some random wallbreakers.

The team was too weak to the Almighty Lando-T and ground types in general, and also needed defiant user. So I replaced Kyurem-B with Mixed-Thudurus. I also changed LO-Victini to Scarf-Victini to better revenge kill after Smeargle is KO'ed. With this, the team would be complete but...

...it was destroyed by strong priority user like Ash-Gren or Mawile. So I replaced Mega-Gardevoir with Tapu Lele because it can run the same stallbreaker set and summon psychic-terrain good bye mega waifu

The Team

smeargle.gif

Smeargle @ Focus Sash
Ability: Own Tempo
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sticky Web
- Stealth Rock
- Memento
- Taunt

Smeargle is the lead 99% of the time so let's start with it. Its main role is to setup Sticky Web for its teammates and usually faints afterwards. Stealth Rock should be used whenever possible for the chip damage it procures and eases the work for the rest of the team. Memento allows Smeargle to act as a suicide lead once its job is done but is rarely used. Taunt prevents the likes of slower Mew, Tapu Fini, Lando-T and Ferrothorn from setting up there own hazards/defogging.

tapulele.gif

Tapu Lele @ Twisted Spoon
Ability: Psychic Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast
- Taunt

Tapu Lele's Psychic Surge in conjunction with Sticky Web renders some threat like Ash-Greninja and Bisharp nearly useless against who the team is vulnerable. Focus Blast is for the steel types, and taunt let Lele to act not only to act as a stall breaker, but also to prevent Defog from Mew and Tapu Fini and the likes.

victini.gif

Victini @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Victory Star
EVs: 16 HP / 240 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- V-create
- Bolt Strike
- U-turn
- Final Gambit

Victini is here to have better time before the webs are up. It checks Tangrowth and most steel types that Tapu Lele draws. I use it to take the Fake Out in case of Mega-Loppuny vs Smeargle, as it threatens it out and can U-turn to put the Smeargle back. V-create has high damage output, and with webs + choice scarf you're guaranteed to use at least two unless the opponent has a faster scarfer. U-turn allow Victini to pivot on its check. Bolt Strike is here for the Water and Flying type, but Thundurus handles those much better. Final Gambit is here for Kingdra in Rain team, because even with the webs up, Victini is the only Pokemon in the team to outspeed it. The 16 EV in HP are to ensure the OHKO on Kingdra after both Pokemon took Stealth Rock damages.

thundurus.gif

Thundurus @ Life Orb
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 68 Atk / 188 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Knock Off
- Superpower
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Thundurus is the ground immunity of the team and a Wallbreaker. It checks Landorus-T for Victini and beat it with HP ice. With Knock Off, it OHKO Latios and sometimes 2HKO Mew with Knock Off+Thunderbolt who are two threatening Defoggers for the team. It also provides a good matchup against stall, crippling with Knock Off or dealing heavy damage to the Pokemons found in this type of team.

gengar.gif

Gengar @ Choice Specs
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Sludge Wave
- Focus Blast
- Trick

Shadow Ball spam. That's basically what this thing does. And it's also a spinblocker. It mainly weakens the opponents Pokemons, but it also can act as a cleaner thanks to the web and its high speed. Focus Blast is for Excadrill and to punish Dark types for coming on it.

kartana.gif

Kartana @ Fightinium Z
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Leaf Blade
- Smart Strike
- Sacred Sword

Kartana is a beast. It has a decent physical bulk allowing it to setup on a lot of Pokemon in the meta. With the webs up and with its checks down, not a lot of things can stop it. It's actually really weak to priority but Tapu Lele is here to cover for that.

latios.gif

Choice-Scarf Latios: No one outspeeds It in the team so the defog is guaranteed
zapdos.gif

Defog Zapdos : Kind of the same problem here: easily comes on the team and the defog is guaranteed
kingdra.gif

Rain sweeper Kingdra: Outspeeds everyone under Rain with web except Victini, and OHKO everyone with surf. Final Gambit from Victini is the only hope.
Tapu Lele @ Twisted Spoon
Ability: Psychic Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast
- Taunt

Victini @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Victory Star
EVs: 16 HP / 240 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- V-create
- Bolt Strike
- U-turn
- Final Gambit

Smeargle @ Focus Sash
Ability: Own Tempo
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sticky Web
- Stealth Rock
- Memento
- Taunt

Thundurus @ Life Orb
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 68 Atk / 188 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Knock Off
- Superpower
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Gengar @ Choice Specs
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Sludge Wave
- Focus Blast
- Trick

Kartana @ Fightinium Z
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Leaf Blade
- Smart Strike
- Sacred Sword

Conclusion

I really enjoy playing this team as I feel it suits my playstyle. Thank you for your criticism and suggestions!

Pretty good team, although I have a few suggestions.
For Kartana, Fightnium Z is its absolute best Z-Crystal, although you could mention that Steelium Z guarantees the OHKO on Unaware Clefable, who otherwise takes Smart Strike and OHKO's back with Flamethrower.

You could also run Psychium Z to give Tapu Lele a move to punch a hole or OHKO a Pokémon that has the defense to survive Psyshock. If you opt for this, running Expert Belt on Kartana could be an option, as it has outstanding coverage, and can hit an majority of Pokémon super effectively.

Weavile can be used on this team as a way to ensure that Latios and Zapdos have a hard time Defogging your hazards, due to the former being Pursuit trapped by Weavile, while the latter takes a chunk of damage, or gets outright OHKO'ed by Icicle Crash. Weavile also has Low Kick and Poison Jab as some pretty good coverage options. It can be difficult to use though, and I guess Thundurus fulfills this role.

Hey, nice sticky web team.
I have a suggestion which might sound a little odd.

Kartana @ Psychium Z
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance

- Psycho Cut
- Leaf Blade
- Sacred Sword

This is a set I came up with to deal with things like Zapdos and Mega Venusaur, while abusing Lele's Terrain.

+2 252 Atk Kartana Psycho Cut vs. 248 HP / 8 Def Zapdos in Psychic Terrain: 334-393 (87.2 - 102.6%) -- 18.8% chance to OHKO
-----------------------------------------------
+2 252 Atk Kartana Shattered Psyche (140 BP) vs. 248 HP / 8 Def Zapdos: 444-523 (115.9 - 136.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
-----------------------------------------------
+2 252 Atk Kartana Psycho Cut vs. 248 HP / 88 Def Venusaur-Mega in Psychic Terrain: 458-540 (126.1 - 148.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO

This can bait in Zapdos and knock it out if they dont have too much defense and rocks are up, or ohko Venusaur (so Lele and Victini dont have to take too much damage)

Hopefully this idea can be helpful if you decide to use it :]

Hey Pananalibs Sticky Web isn't a build I usually rate as I prefer to stick to standard webs, and if I rate your team I'll end up pushing the team towards that. I more wanted to comment on a few things on the the Kartana set with respect to DragonKnightmaster's rate. A Darkium Z set utilizing Z-Night Slash is a pretty solid Zapdos and M-venu lure initself + it doesn't rely on terrain which isn't always accessible. I'll drop a few calcs below, but this is more about reliability. Not banking on terrain which in some circumstances can be annoying if you're playing vs someone who has a Tapu Koko for instance that messes with your terrain.

+2 252 Atk Kartana Black Hole Eclipse (140 BP) vs. 248 HP / 8 Def Zapdos: 444-523 (115.9 - 136.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

+2 252 Atk Kartana Black Hole Eclipse (140 BP) vs. 248 HP / 88 Def Venusaur-Mega: 304-358 (83.7 - 98.6%) -- 75% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

Also I will say that seeing a hyper offensive team with Gengar>Mimikyu is odd. Mimikyu spin blocks similarly, but it also can utilize a disguise to serve as a last ditch hail mary at stopping a mon that set up and is about to run through your frailer offensive team. Just something to consider (once again don't really want to go with to many suggestions as I'll rip the originality out of this team entirely turning the team into NJNP Webs).

Hope this helped in some way, gl with the team moving forward n_n!
