Another UU RMT

Intro:
Hello, this is one of my most recent teams I have been using on Shoddy and it has been somewhat successful. I believe it has room for improvement, and I would like some help in maybe changing a few moves, and maybe even a team member around to make this team even better. It has a few problems with a few pokes, but it usually gets the job done. As you can see this team is offense based.

In Depth:
moltres.png

Moltres @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 68 HP / 252 SpA / 188 Spe
Nature: Modest (+SpA, -Atk)
- Fire Blast
- Air Slash
- Hidden Power [Ground]
- Roost

Moltres is my lead of choice for this UU team. It can usually put a huge dent in unprepared teams. Fire Blast is a powerful STAB but does miss occasionally. It KO's many things such as Steelix, and Registeel. Air Slash is an alternative STAB for things that resist Fire Blast, and sometimes will flinch slower leads that try to set up Stealth Rock. HP Ground has been more useful than Grass, as it more easily takes down Flash Fire switch ins such as Arcanine or Houndoom, as well as killing Aggron, Bastiodon, and Probopass. It also, like Grass gets a Super Effective hit on Regirock. Roost saves me many times getting rid of LO recoil, and other damage I may have taken.

Moltres is one of the most powerful Pokemon in UU, and when it takes out the opponents lead or forces it out, it can come back to threaten my opponent again later in the match. It can do major damage to anything that doesnt resist Fire Blast, so when Fire resisting switch ins are down, Moltres can sweep with little effort.

feraligatr.png

Feraligatr @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 28 HP / 252 Atk / 228 Spe
Nature: Adamant (+Atk, -SpA)
- Waterfall
- Ice Punch
- Earthquake
- Dragon Dance

Feraligatr is my main Physical Sweeper. When he sets up a Dragon Dance it will usually end up sweeping or severely damaging my opponents team. Its main option is STAB Waterfall, which also may get a boost from torrent in a tight spot. Many things with go down from a single Waterfall after a Dragon Dance. Ice Punch clears any Altaria, or Grass types who think they can stop my sweep. Earthquake is my best bet for opposing Water types, but isn't powerful enough to dispose of Slowbro or Miltank which are its main counters. Dragon Dance is what makes the whole set so powerful, as it can outspeed almost everything after one. Electrode can outspeed and attack with Thunderbolt or Thunder, but its usually used as a suicide lead, so it rarely ever comes back to try to stop me.

Feraligatr is the closest thing to a UU Gyarados, as a single DD can win the game for you if the opponent is unprepared or has lost all of their Physically sturdy Pokemon. When it gets a DD on the switch i can usually kill whatever was sent out and sweep from there, unless they happen to have Slowbro, Miltank, or an Electrode for some reason.

mismagius.png

Mismagius @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 48 HP / 208 SpA / 252 Spe
Nature: Timid (+Spe, -Atk)
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
- Substitute
- Calm Mind

Mismagius is my choice as a Special Sweeper. It runs SubCM so nothing really special about it. Shadow Ball is its most powerful attack and gets STAB. It is very helpful for killing other ghosts, and if I win a speedtie can kill other Mismagius who want to ruin my fun. I prefer HP Fighting over Thunderbolt, as it give coverage to everything in the game, as well as doing more damage to common walls such as Regis, Steelix, Chansey, and Miltank. Thunderbolt would however provide more damage to Milotic, who can cause a few problems when it carries Haze, which now seems to be a popular choice. Substitute stops a few things that are faster, or with scarfs and priority moves from killing me off as well as blocking status from things like Chansey and the Regis, making them set up fodder for Calm Minds. After a few CMs, special sweepers won't be able to break my sub, and will be usually outsped and KO'd.

Mismagius has been one of the biggest threats in UU for a while, and I am suprised it was not a suspect this round. Most Missy I see are now Trick Specs or Perish Trappers, but i still have great success with this basic set.

sceptile.png

Sceptile @ Leftovers
Ability: Overgrow
EVs: 56 HP / 200 Def / 252 Spe
Nature: Timid (+Spe, -Atk)
- Energy Ball
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Substitute
- Leech Seed

Sceptile is one of my favorite Pokemon. It has a few things that seperate it from Jumpluff. First off is its excellent base 120 Spe. Next is its ability to do some actual damage outside of Leech Seed stalling through its higher attacking stats, as well as not being SR weak. All this for the cost of a couple of moves (Encore and Sleep Powder come to mind). Energy Ball is his most reliable STAB, though it gets weaker hits on the Slowbro and King, as well as Milotic. SubSeed is a classic combo that it pulls of well from its amazing Speed.

Sceptile can threaten any team that lacks faster Pokemon. Roserade can also be imposing to this set, as it is 3HKO'd by HP Fire, and can come in any attack except HP Fire and break the sub then kill with Sludge Bomb. Overall he has been a great member of my team.

registeel.png

Registeel @ Leftovers
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP / 40 Atk / 216 SpD
Nature: Careful (+SpD, -SpA)
- Iron Head
- Curse
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

Registeel is IMO the best wall in UU. He can take hits from both side of the spectrum, as well as either supporting its team, or taking down a few threats. Registeel is the only defensive Pokemon on my team, but I pull off sweeps frequently, due to the low number of things that can bring it down. Once Fire types, and powerful special sweepers are down he comes in sets up curses, and kills everything with Iron Head. Not many people expect to see this thing using RestTalk, as they expect the typical SR exploding tank that everyone else runs.

Registeel is deadly after I beat a few of its counters. Thankfully Moltres seems to be a magnet to Arcanine, Houndoom and other Flash Fire users hoping to get a free boost. Moltres then brings them down with HP Ground opening their team for a Registeel sweep.

yanmega.png

Yanmega @ Choice Specs
Ability: Tinted Lens
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Nature: Modest (+SpA, -Atk)
- Bug Buzz
- Air Slash
- Hypnosis
- Hidden Power Ice

This is a very deadly Yanmega. People usually just use the Speed Boost Yanmega in hopes of outspeeding and killing a few things. This kills anything that doesn't have 290 Speed or more, as Bug Buzz with Lens back up by Specs and Modest nature destroys even things that resist it. It OHKO's Claydol, Magneton, Golem, Steelix, and many other things that might try to switch in. Air Slash is an alternative STAB, and has its moments from time to time. Hypnosis and HP Ice are mainly filler and i've not used either of them even once.

Yanmega is a great UU sweeper. When faster foes are down Yanmega can step in and destroy almost anything in a single hit. Regis are one of the few things that can stop it, but they wont be able to switch in without being 2HKO'd, so they have to revenge kill it. Not many expect this set, and therefore are destroyed anyways. SR can be a problem to Yanmega, but it seems to be not quite as common in UU as in OU, so more than half of my battles I won't have to worry about it.

Anyway, that is my team, if you have any suggestions, thoughts, or questions post them. Any help is greatly appreciated.

D0nut eater5:

I think you need to switch your Moltres lead to the following:

Moltres @ Choice Scarf
Pressure
Modest
40 Def / 252 SpA / 216 Speed
- Overheat
- U-Turn
- HP Ground
- Air Slash

That will outspeed and take down any opposing lead that may come out against you. The only one it can't massively damage is Uxie which it can U-Turn out on.

This might seem like a pain because of the one move but Moltres needs to outspeed a Roserade lead

Scarf Moltres looks pretty good, but I dislike being locked into a single move as it gives my opponent an easy opportunity to set up and sweep. I personally never encounter Roserade used as a lead in UU as it is usually a sweeper. Uxie is easier to take down with the set i currently run.
