XY OU Another Volt turn team

I know I've been posting a lot of teams lately, but I've been in a phase where I'm tired of using other peoples teams and am actually really enjoying building my own. Even better the critique that you guys give me on here is amazing and it makes me a better player overall because now I see threats that I never did before. Anyways here is a volt turn team that I decided to build on a whim.

Rotom-Wash

I didn't want to use the standard Manectric-Lando core so I decided on Rotom-W instead because it really is an amazing pokemon. It checks all flying spam, and it completely counters mamoswine which Lando really appreciates. It also hands out will-o to the opponents team which really helps wear them down over the turns. Probably one of the most versatile pokemon in OU and it does it's job perfectly in this team.

Bold Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Pain Split

Landorus-Therian

So scarf lando was the obvious choice to me as the other half of the core because it serves many purposes. It has tremendous power that really nothing wants to switch in on, and with a scarf it becomes a potent revenge killer. I put knock off over superpower because my pinsir has close combat so it seemed redundant. also the intimidate is really nice for neutering the powerful physical attackers it sometimes has to switch in on. also it's the perfect partner for rotom because the cover each others weaknesses almost perfectly.

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- U-turn
- Earthquake
- Knock Off
- Stone Edge

Gengar:

Besides for the obvious bias to this pokemon for me, I figured it really fit a role well on this team. With volt-turn being balanced it sometimes has a problem dealing with stall or really fat pokemon at all. so taunt three attack gengar seemed like a really good team mate. It appreciates the free switch ins from the volt turn and then can either make a stall pokemons life hell, or fire off super powerful attacks on the forced switches. It's amazing stopping Cm clefable as well because of taunt and then sludge wave just wrecks it. It also makes smeargle/scolipede leads cry which is very useful to stop stickyweb or BP.

Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Taunt
- Shadow Ball
- Sludge Wave
- Focus Blast

Ferrothorn:

I needed a pokemon the could set hazards and at the same time sponge a ton of hits. Ferrothorn made a lot of sense because it has massive amounts of bulk and it's probably the best hazard setter in the tier. Iron barbs add up damage over time, and its also a counter to opposing rotom-W which coan give my team nightmares otherwise.

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Spikes
- Leech Seed
- Power Whip
- Protect

Pinsir:

I needed a set up sweeper because volt turn is really good at weakening opponents teams, but not so much killing them. Pinsir seemed really good because with volt turn I can come in on a late volt switch or a u turn and get off an SD. After that pinsir is basically going to kill something due to it's massive power and priority quick attack.

Pinsir @ Pinsirite
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Quick Attack
- Return
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat

Latios:

Volt turn needs a deffoger so here it is. While that's it's main purpose it does so much work for this team. (There's a reason it's S tier right?). It revenge kills, hard counters keldeo, drops bombs with draco and sometimes even sweeps. I love this thing in this role because it can defog and then put offensive pressure on my opponent because of its ridiculous stats. I put hp fire to take care of opposing ferrothorns and also to punish bisharp for trying to pursuit trap me.

Very solid team. A few small tweaks:

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- U-turn
- Earthquake
- Superpower
- Stone Edge

Your team could have issues with +1 Mega Gyarados, especially if it is paired with a Magnezone. Superpower gives you the option of solidly revenge killing a weakened +1 Mega Gyarados.

252 Atk Landorus-T Superpower vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Mega Gyarados: 262-310 (79.1 - 93.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Might be a little bit more helpful than Knock Off, and also helps against DD Mega Tyranitar and can help dent Ferrothorn on predicted switches. Knock Off is also a good option, just Superpower may be a good alternative.

Pinsir @ Pinsirite
Ability: Hyper Cutter
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Quick Attack
- Return
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat

Very small nitpick, but Hyper Cutter over Moxie is more useful when it has not Mega Evolved yet. It can help against those pesky Intimidate users that Mega Pinsir seems to be a magnet for, and allows you to get the full SD up against said Intimidate users.

That's all I have, outstanding team and good luck battling!

Than you! I was running moxie just in case i came in on something quick attack could kill, but its super situational and never happened. also Superpower on landorus gets a lot of surprise kills on ferrothorn, and especially chansey.

Hi man, nice team! ^^ Volt turn core + stallbraker Gengar and wallbraker Pinsir ecc.. ecc...
So i've 2 or 3 suggestion 4 your team;
Considerating that you are weak to Bitchsarp you can change the evs spread of Rotom to outspeed Jolly Max Speed Bisharp and burn him first that he kill you.

So the set of Rotom that I suggest is the following:

Rotom (Rotom-W) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 40 Def / 220 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Volt Switch
- Will-O-Wisp
- Hydro Pump
- Thunder Wave/Pain Split

The chose of thunder wave is good to stop JollyZard X that now is very famous

If you do not want to change the set of rotom, you might try another stallbreaker instead of Gengar. (This is a personal fanboy tip LOL)

In any case, a tip is to try Infernape instead of Gengar, certainly do not escape the Latwins, but the entry on them already there (Ferrothorn) But Infernape using a moveset similar to Gengar I assure you that will really difficult to counter him

Infernape @ Life Orb
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Taunt
- Close Combat
- Flare Blitz
- Hidden Power [Ice]/Mach Punch

You can try a mixed set or only the second physical as you like
This would let you better manage pokemon as Scizor and Bisharp

Lastly, change to the spread of Latios so, for the LO Number

Latios (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 29 HP / 30 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe
- Psyshock
- Draco Meteor
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Defog

I hope I have helped you, gl with your team
