Any Math Wizards Out There?

Ok, so I am required to factor

6sin^2 x + 11sin x + 6 = 0 (where sin^2 indicates sin squared)

For the trig impaired, this equation is essentially

6x^2 + 11x + 6 = 0 (where x^2 indicated x squared)

If I can factor the lower one, the top one is easy to figure out.

Now, I cant figure out how to factor this properly in order to solve for x. This equation is obviously a quadratic, and I have tried using the quadratic formula, but I end up with a negative number under the root (which is imaginary, and beyond my grade 11 university level math understanding). I'm guessing it is impossible and there is no solution, but I didn't know if anyone here could help me lol.
Thanks

You're correct, there is no solution due to the negative number under the square root sign. Also, we have the Homework Help thread on page 2.

Alright, thanks. It's just that this question is worth 8 marks on my assignment, it seems odd. Ill check with my teacher tomorrow, she probable meant a negative sign and put a positive one. And I didn't notice you had a thread for homework lol, I'll keep that in mind in the future. Thanks.
