I always manage to get my rating to about 1450 and then it always slips down to the 1300's and slowly rises back up. Any tips to help keep me up there

Read this and this and post all strategy related posts here, this subsection of the boards is for things specifically related to Shoddy Battle (think bugs, improvements to the programs ect) while the subforum I linked you is more about general strategy including consistant Laddering. Also when Battling 101 comes back online from its recent revamp/changing of the guard(which will be soon) take advantage of that.
