Tournament Anything Goes Winter League II - Team and Set Dump

SS AG teamdump. Shoutouts Glory/Pokemh for getting me back to speed after a 3 year hiatus and lotiasite for helping later on. Overall pretty happy with my record

W1 (W) – :ho-oh::necrozma-dusk-mane::eternatus::kyogre::yveltal::groudon:Game

Changed one of Pokemh's Ferro-Ogre-Ho-Oh teams in their builder to include Double Dance Groudon, and remove Taunt + FP Yve (which I think is frankly terrible) and Shuca Etern for Knock + FP and Black Sludge respectively. Got bailed this game when Swas didn't Dynamax Kyogre when they had the chance.

After running into bulky CM Thunder Kyogre (usually not worth it in SS Ubers, which I was learning on the side), I realized I had to relearn what people generally like to run. Fortunately that wasn't hard:

W2 (W) – :kyogre::ditto::ferrothorn::eternatus::necrozma-dusk-mane::yveltal:Game

Expected HO so I wanted a Ditto team. Edited the Kyogre-Ferro-Ditto sample into something generally more proactive (an Eternatus that can't threaten NDM/opposing Etern whatsoever didn't sound worthwhile to me). Got what I expected and won pretty straightforwardly.

W3 (W) – :xerneas::calyrex-shadow::necrozma-dusk-mane::yveltal::eternatus::xerneas:Game

Dual Xerned because my teammates wanted me to, not much logic to it. Not my style of team but it did get a fairly good matchup all things considered, not much to say.

W4 (W) – :necrozma-dusk-mane::yveltal::eternatus::ho-oh::groudon::ferrothorn:Game

From what Pokemh has been passing DripLegend throughout the tour they seemed to like Zekrom (and other misc. physical breakers) an inordinate amount so I wanted to bring Groudon + Ferro (+ FP Yveltal, which also helps vs. HO which I also wanted to properly consider in the builder). Originally had Recover Ho-Oh but my teammates wanted to replace it with Defog. I also changed the NDM item from Leftovers to Goggles last minute because apparently the Manaphys had brought that one Aerodactyl/AV Yve/Butterfree team before and I struggled vs. that otherwise. Groudon EVs survive Adamant Zac-C Behemoth Blade after one SD and Precipice Blades always KOes after Stealth Rock. Ho-Oh lives Adamant Zac-C's Wild Charge 15/16 of the time.

W5 (L) – :necrozma-dusk-mane::yveltal::eternatus::ho-oh::ferrothorn::kyogre:Game

iirc Ballfire's scout lacked Ho-Oh/Zac-C and I wanted to diversify my scout (without using Zac-C since relatively high Ditto usage and I didn't feel as comfortable with that mon), hence LO NDM. Ironically, I got punished for low Zac-C usage by no Fire move offensive Yveltal.

Finals (W) – :kyogre::ditto::ferrothorn::eternatus::necrozma-dusk-mane::yveltal:Game

An edited version of the Week 2 team, on which I felt Knock + Toxic Yve was terrible and I tried accommodating for a change to Knock + FP Yve. Eternatus should've been Toxic but I selected the wrong move in the builder. Kyogre + Ferrothorn in particular collectively make progress incredibly well (Scald burns, item removal, hazards, Leech Seed) while checking a lot of miscellaneous bs so (my helpers and) I thought that + Ditto would be a good bring. Boots Eternatus because you'll rarely actually want to Defog and Kyogre/Ferrothorn deal with whatever you'd otherwise like Leftovers for well enough.
