Invalid Archeops-Weezing ability

Hello, i was testing archeops-weezing in doubles. I noticed that weezing doesnt nullify the ability, while in the smogon thread it says it can be done. I also tested it in the main game, and it seems it actually works. Am i wrong or is just a showdown mistake? Thank you for seeing this.

Bug reports go in this thread: https://www.smogon.com/forums/threa...-original-post-before-posting.3663703/page-35 . Please include a replay with all battle bug reports so we can examine what exactly happened, it may actually be correct depending on the context.
