PU Arctovish (2/2 QC) (1/1 GP)

[OVERVIEW]
:ss/arctovish:
Arctovish is a threatening hail sweeper thanks to the combination of Fishious Rend's tremendous power, solid coverage, and Slush Rush allowing it to outspeed the entire unboosted tier. Arctovish also sports decent bulk for a wallbreaker, allowing it to take advantage of walls such as Palossand. However, Arctovish is over-reliant on Fishious Rend to wallbreak thanks to only having base 90 Attack, so Water-immune Pokemon such as Jellicent, Vaporeon, and Heliolisk can take advantage of it. Arctovish’s Ice typing can also work against it at times, as it negates resistances against Fire- and Steel-type attacks and brings increased damage from switching into Stealth Rock. Arctovish is also dependent on hail being up to wallbreak, both for Slush Rush and correspondingly Fishious Rend's power, so Pokemon such as Gigalith and dedicated weather setters such as Liepard indirectly hamper it.

[SET]
name: Wallbreaker
move 1: Fishious Rend
move 2: Icicle Crash
move 3: Psychic Fangs
move 4: Crunch / Freeze-Dry
item: Choice Band / Life Orb
ability: Slush Rush
nature: Adamant / Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Psychic Fangs OHKOes Toxicroak, which would normally come in on Fishious Rend for free, and does neutral damage to Vaporeon. Crunch nets a 2HKO on non-Colbur Berry Jellicent after Stealth Rock damage. Freeze-Dry is another option to hit the aforementioned Water-types super effectively and chip at them. If Freeze-Dry is chosen, Life Orb should be used over Choice Band, and a Lonely or Hasty nature should be used instead. An Adamant nature is preferred to maximize Arctovish’s wallbreaking prowess, but a Jolly nature can be used to outspeed common Choice Scarf users such as Passimian and Braviary under hail.

Hail setters such as Aurorus, Vanilluxe, and Abomasnow are crucial to Arctovish’s success. Alolan Sandslash pairs quite nicely with Arctovish, as the former checks Grass- and Electric-types while the latter takes care of Fire- and Ground-types, and both can also wallbreak for each other, as they have similar answers. Outside of hail setters and users, Pokemon such as Mesprit and Charizard are good options, as each of them handle one of Arctovish’s weaknesses, and Pokemon such as Heliolisk, Virizion, and Vikavolt that handles Pokemon immune to Water also work well with Arctovish.

Finally, this is ready for QC! Sorry for taking so long to get ready, this mon is rather awkward to write about, as I’ve said in the Discord

[OVERVIEW]

Arctovish is a threatening hail sweeper thanks to a combination of Fishious Rend's tremendous power and Slush Rush allowing Arctovish to outspeed the entire unboosted tier. In addition, Arctovish boasts coverage options such as Psychic Fangs and Crunch to get past its checks. However, Arctovish is over reliant on Fishious Rend to use its wallbreaking potential to its fullest, and Water-type immune Pokemon such as Jellicent, Vaporeon, and Heliolisk can take advantage of it. Arctovish’s damage output can be lacking when it is not using Fishious Rend, as it only has base 90 attack to work with. Arctovish’s Ice-typing can also work against it at times, as it negates resistances against Fire- and Steel-type attacks and suffers increased damage from switching into Stealth Rock.(its also pretty reliant on hail being up to sweep)

Psychic Fangs OHKOs Toxicroak, which would normally come in on Fishious Rend for free. Crunch nets a 2HKO on Jellicent (specify non colbur berry)after Stealth Rock damage and provides neutral coverage to hit Vaporeon. Freeze-Dry is another option to hit the aforementioned Water-types super effectively and provides a way to chip at them. If Freeze-Dry is chosen, Life Orb should be used over Choice Band, and a Lonely or Hasty nature should be used instead. An Adamant nature is preferred to maximize Arctovish’s wallbreaking prowess, but a Jolly nature can be used to outspeed common Choice Scarf users (such as?)at the cost of power.

Hail setters are essential, as they are Arctovish’s main claim to fame, so Pokemon such as Aurorus, Vanilluxe, and Abomasnow are all a must have. (the word 'all' here makes it sounds like ur supposed to use all 3 on the same team)Alolan Sandslash pairs quite nicely with Arctovish, as the former checks Grass- and Electric-types while the latter takes care of Fire- and Ground-types. (specify on dedicated hail teams)Outside of hail, Pokemon such as Virizion, Mesprit, and Charizard are good options, as each of them handle one of Arctovish’s weaknesses, and Pokemon that handle Water Absorb Pokemon (just say water immunities)such as Heliolisk and Galvantula work well with Arctovish. While it may be tempting to only use Fishious Rend, prediction is important to keep in mind while using Arctovish, and as such, it is advisable not to play aggressively with Fishious Rend unless all of Arctovish’s checks and counters are either removed or weakened.

In addition, Arctovish boasts coverage options such as Psychic Fangs and Crunch to get past its checks. (what exactly does Arctovish take advantage of? There should be a sentence about what it breaks through to juxtapose the one after it) However, Arctovish is over reliant on Fishious Rend to use its wallbreaking potential to its fullest, and Water-type immune Pokemon such as Jellicent, Vaporeon, and Heliolisk can take advantage of it. Arctovish’s damage output can be lacking when it is not using Fishious Rend, as it only has base 90 attack to work with. (Last two sentences feel redundant, remove the last one or reword it into one sentence) Arctovish’s Ice-typing can also work against it at times, as it negates resistances against Fire- and Steel-type attacks and suffers increased damage from switching into Stealth Rock. Arctovish is also dependent on Hail to wallbreak, and so, Pokemon such as Gigalith or dedicated weather setters such as Liepard indirectly hamper Arctovish.
