Let's Play! Ardy Plays Pokemon Financial Stability!

Hello everyone! So, picture this. Its 9am, I'm having breakfast and doomscrolling reddit (a time honored tradition), and I come across a post on the pokemon romhacks subreddit about a hack called Pokemon Financial Stability. With that great of a name, I decide to check it out and play it. Five hours of gameplay later, I realize this is one of the most fun rom hacks I've played in a long time, and that I really want to do a Let's Play of it. So, without further ado, lets get into it!

Pokemon Financial Stability is a romhack of Pokemon FireRed with a very fun twist on the formula: You cannot gain EXP or EVs through battle. Instead, you can purchase Rare Candies (renamed to Level Candies because they are not rare lmao) at every pokemart. All ways to get infinite money have been removed from the game, and the creator has added multiple hidden nuggets to the various routes and towns. Pokemon have been rebalanced, moves have been added and changed, and all pokemon from gens 1-3 are available in the wild. The story seems to be the same so far, but there are new maps for most areas that I've discovered, and new boss battles that are tougher. Regular trainers are also bumped up from vanilla.

All in all, the game rewards preparation and long term thinking, as well as conserving the resources you have. The balancing changes are a mix of unique and fan favorites, and it really incentivizes exploration and fighting all the trainers you can, which is something I really love in a hack.

This will be a vanilla playthrough, although with Battle Mode = Set and no using the bag in battle. Also, if anyone is interested, the documentation for the hack is right here.
Now lets get into it!

financial stability-0.png

Once again, brilliant, brilliant name for a hack.
financial stability-1.png
financial stability-2.png

Standard standard standard
financial stability-3.png

The Potion in the PC has been replaced with one Level Candy.
financial stability-4.png
financial stability-6.png

The starter options are Sentret, Rattata and Zigzagoon. Furret has been given Huge Power in this hack, so it is clearly the best choice for that, however, we are not actually going to use any of these. We also dont want to give our rival a Huge Power Furret, so we cant pick Rattata. That lowers the pool down to Sentret and Zigzagoon. Now, it is much better to have a Run Away mon in the early game, and Zigzagoon doesnt get Run Away, so we do indeed just end up going with Sentret, resetting until we get one with Run Away.
financial stability-10.png

Nature and stats do not matter
financial stability-13.png
financial stability-14.png

We win the first battle down to the wire, and get $80 for our trouble.
financial stability-17.png

Theres a hidden Nugget right here that we pick up.
financial stability-18.png

There is also a nugget here in Viridian that we pick up.
financial stability-19.png
financial stability-20.png
financial stability-21.png

We deliver Oak's package, and we get 5 pokeballs for our trouble. This is actually really important, because we want to spend as little money on misc items as possible. 5 Pokeballs with resetting means we can catch 5 pokemon for free, essentially. And I already know which 5 I want.
financial stability-23.png

Our first stop is the Mart. After selling our two nuggets, we have 13580. The Amulet Coin is incredibly important to have, so we buy that right away.
After that, we spend all our remaining money on Level Candies.
financial stability-16.png

We also pick up a Potion from this guy.
financial stability-25.png

Our bag looks like this afterwards.
Now to do some catching!
Theres absolutely nothing on Route 1 that is worth our limited catching power, so I reset in the newly added grass of Viridian City until we can encounter our first team member.
financial stability-26.png
financial stability-28.png

Swampert has had 20 taken from its attack to put 10 into both defenses, but it is still a powerhouse of a pokemon to have here. Mudkip can have either Swift Swim or Torrent. I reset until I get a Swift Swim one.
financial stability-30.png
financial stability-31.png

Next, we go to Route 22, and reset until we can catch this nice Modest Bellsprout. Bellsprout is useful because it is fast, has Chlorophyll, and learns both Sleep Powder and Poison Powder. Bulbasaur also fills these rolls, but Bellsprout comes at Level 12, while Bulbasaur comes at Level 10, and I felt saving 1k was worth a slightly inferior mon.
financial stability-32.png
financial stability-33.png

Treecko is our next pickup. We reset until we get one with Serene Grace. Sceptile has had 20 taken from attack and put into Sp.Atk, giving it a 125 Sp.Atk stat. In addition, it is now a Grass/Dragon type. Sceptile can have either Serene Grace or Hustle. Since it has lower attack to begin with now, Serene Grace is clearly the better option for Dragonbreath and the like.
financial stability-34.png

There is also this dude in Viridian who is walking on water. Excited to see what his deal is when we pick up Surf.
financial stability-35.png

The next thing we do is give Mudkip the Amulet Coin and go do the optional Rival fight on Route 22.
financial stability-36.png
financial stability-37.png

I forgot to record how much money he gives us. We will be better about that in the future.
financial stability-38.png

There is also this new house in Viridian City.
financial stability-39.png
financial stability-40.png
financial stability-41.png
financial stability-43.png
financial stability-44.png

OH NO
financial stability-45.png
financial stability-46.png

Ah shit...
financial stability-47.png
financial stability-48.png

Hmm. Nevermind.
(also yes I remembered to Amulet Coin this battle).
financial stability-50.png
financial stability-51.png

Even if the choice of a free mon wasnt worth our time, the prize money of 4000 for this free battle 100% is.
Now, we can catch all the starter mons in the wild. In here, however, whichever mon we pick up is going to be at Level 5. Wild starter mons are Level 10. Thats $2500 to get whatever we choose here upto just the starting point, vs just the 200 of a pokeball for the wild pokemon. I wouldnt even bother with any of these choices, except that Squirtle gets Drizzle. Even at Level 5, that makes it an insane supporting choice. Blastoise is probably also really good, but I feel like the other weather starter (Drought Charmander) leans a little more offensive, so its more important for Charm to be higher level. So I decide to just pick Squirtle here.
financial stability-52.png
financial stability-53.png
financial stability-54.png
financial stability-55.png

Lets goooo
Shame the +Sp.Atk nature was wasted on a level 5 mon tbh but whattarya gonna do.
Next, we head to Route 2 to pick up our next mon.
financial stability-56.png
financial stability-57.png

This thing is SUCH an insane pickup so early. Jolly Nature is pretty good, I would have preferred something +Def or +Atk, but -Sp.Atk is about as good as I could hope for.
Skarm has also been buffed from Vanilla in this. It gets -5 in HP, but +40 in Defense, bringing it up to 180 defense. I dont think there is anything else as broken as this in the early game, phenomenal mon.
financial stability-58.png
financial stability-59.png

I pick up a couple more hidden items on Route 2.
financial stability-60.png

Theres also an Antidote in Viridian Forest.
Now, we have one more pokeball left before our stock from Oak runs out. And theres one clear winner in Viridian Forest.
financial stability-62.png
financial stability-61.png

Another insane early game pickup for us.
Heracross stats are unchanged, but it gets some nice movepool additions early that we will take advantage of.
financial stability-64.png

We sell our Nugget and spend all our money on Level Candies, bringing our total upto 36.
And now to start using them.

We use 5 candies on Bellsprout to get it to Level 17, teaching it Sleep Powder and Poison Powder. We use another 7 on Skarmory, bringing it up to Level 13, where it learns Swift. It also learn Sand Attack on the way, which has been changed to be a 10BP damaging ground type move that always lowers accuracy, and has been changed to have 5PP.
financial stability-66.png

Our party looks like this at the end (I put Squirtle in the box).
And now, its time to go to Viridian Forest.
financial stability-70.png

We have 368 to start.
financial stability-67.png

We pick up this hidden Nugget here (the map has been redone)
financial stability-68.png
financial stability-71.png

We put the Amulet Coin on Skarmory, who solos the entire forest. This guy has a Level 13 Weedle and a Level 13 Spinarak.
financial stability-72.png

The other guy (on the left) has a Caterpie, Surskit and Wrumple at Level 13.
financial stability-73.png
financial stability-74.png

This guy has a Cascoon and a Silcoon, both Level 19. Very annoying honestly, since Harden has been nerfed to 5PP, making them both Struggle, which has been buffed to 70PP. Peck doesnt do a lot to even +1 cocoons.
financial stability-75.png
financial stability-76.png

This guy has Kakuna and Metapod, Level 19, and Ledyba Level 15.
There is also a Nugget here that I forgot to record picking up.
financial stability-77.png
financial stability-78.png

This guy has a full team. They are: Butterfree 15, Beedrill 15, Dustox 16, Beautifly 16, Ledian 17, Ariados 17. I healed to full before this fight, but this still took a toll on poor Skarm, who is underlevelled as hell right now.
financial stability-79.png

And now Pewter City!
There are some nice pokemon to catch here, but we should get the gym out of the way first.
financial stability-81.png

Also, lore update I guess
financial stability-82.png

Wtf is Brock doing here if hes not the leader
financial stability-86.png
financial stability-88.png
financial stability-89.png
financial stability-90.png
financial stability-91.png
financial stability-92.png
financial stability-93.png
financial stability-94.png

Interesting
financial stability-83.png
financial stability-84.png
financial stability-85.png

He has a Geodude and an Onix. Onix is Rock/Dragon with 55/45/170/20/170/80 stats. Very annoying to take down, so I use Bellsprout Vine Whip to one shot the Geodude. Then I Poison Powder the Onix before going down to 2 Dragonbreaths. Skarm comes in and spams Sand Attack, then Peck until Onix dies to Poison, narrowly avoiding getting taking down itself. For our trouble, we get a nice 4000.
Skarm and Bellsprout have taken us this far, but they will need some help for the rest of the gym.
So I sell off my nuggets, and use all my remaining money to buy Level Candies. I get 24 in total, bringing my total upto 48. After that, I use 16 candies on Heracross, getting it to Level 23. It learns Twinneedle, Brick Break and Counter. After this, we have 32 Candies remaining.
financial stability-98.png
financial stability-99.png
financial stability-100.png

Roxanne has a very threatening Level 18 Corsola, and a Level 20 Nosepass. Corsola is now a Ghost/Rock with 105/55/105/65/105/35 stats. We use Bellsprout to Poison it and Vine Whip it before it goes down to HP Ice. After that, we use our Level 10 Mudkip to whittle away at it before it dies, after which Hera comes in and Twinneedles it twice, taking a HP Ice in the process. Nosepass comes in afterwards. Nosepass has been changed to Rock/Steel here, so it goes down handily to a single Brick Break.
financial stability-101.png
financial stability-102.png

Leader time!
financial stability-103.png
financial stability-104.png
financial stability-105.png
financial stability-106.png
financial stability-107.png

He has two Pokemon: a Level 1 FEAR Rattata with Focus Band instead of Focus Sash, and a Level 20 Banded Rattata with Quick Attack.
financial stability-108.png
financial stability-111.png
financial stability-112.png

Two Brick Breaks. In truth, there was nothing to fear from the FEAR rattata, it does not try to use Endeavor on the first turn, so even if the Focus Band procs, it would need to proc two times in a row for the strategy to work.
financial stability-113.png

We get Rock Tomb for our trouble
financial stability-96.png

I also remember and go back and pick up this one nugget on Route 1 that I forgot earlier.
We buy two pokeballs, then spend the rest of our money on Level Candies, bringing our total to 55.

And we will leave it off at that!

Level Candy: 55
Pokeball: 2
Nuggets: 2

:sentret: 5
:mudkip: 10
:heracross: 23
:skarmory: 13
:treecko: 10
:bellsprout: 17
:squirtle: 5

Thats all for this update! See you guys soon!

Alright lets keep this shit going
financial stability-79.png

Last time, we beat Brock. Lets get to Misty this update.
But first, we have to use our 2 Pokeballs.
financial stability-0.png
financial stability-1.png

I scout for a Speed Boost Torchic, then catch it. This wont be too useful for a while, but its necessary to catch now so we dont have to do too much backtracking later on in the game.
financial stability-4.png
financial stability-3.png

We also catch this Drought Charmander. Now this guy WILL be useful almost immediately. We are lucky enough to catch one with a Timid Nature.
The next step is resource management.
We had two nuggets at the end of the last update. I sell both of them and buy 20 candy, bringing our total upto 75. And now we must use them.
financial stability-5.png

Skarmory gets fed 16 candy, taking it from Level 13 to Level 29. Along the way it learns Roost, replacing Leer, and Air Cutter, replacing Peck.
financial stability-6.png

We also feed Mudkip 14 candies, taking it to level 24. We delay evolution (which starts triggering at Level 20) so it can learn Mud Shot at Level 24, saving us from having to rely on Mud Slap till Level 36.
financial stability-7.png

Once it has learnt Mud Shot, we allow the evolution.
This leaves us with 45 candy left.
Now, we go on to Route 3. With our Level 29 Skarm, Level 23 Hera, and Level 24 Marshtomp, this route is a breeze. (For all trainers, assume I Amulet Coin'd unless otherwise specified)
financial stability-8.png
financial stability-9.png

This guy has a Masquerain, Beedril and Aariados, all Level 23. Air Cutter Skarm handily beats them all.
financial stability-10.png
financial stability-11.png

This youngster has a level 25 Shuckle. Shuckle is a Ghost/Rock in this game. We Mud Shot him until he sets 2 Withdraws up, then Water Gun until he dies.
financial stability-13.png

Now we have a Back to Back battle.
financial stability-14.png

The upper trainer has a L22 Venonat and a L25 Parasect. Parasect has been absolutely beefed up with 100/110 Physical bulk, and so actually survives an Air Cutter, Stun Sporing me. Hilariously, I'm still faster, and the second Air Cutter takes it out.
financial stability-15.png

The bottom trainer has a Yanma 21, Ninjask 21, Pineco 22 and Trapinch 23. Skarm takes care of all of them.
After a healing session at the Pokecenter, we push forward.
financial stability-16.png
financial stability-17.png

This girl has a Tailow 22 and Snubbul 21. Easy prey.
financial stability-18.png

And here we have another back to back battle. Both of these battles are Double Battles.
financial stability-19.png

The first one has Wigglytuff 24, Girafarig 21, Spoink 22, Linoone 22. We Twinneedle Girafarig with Heracross as Skarm does spread damage with Air Cutter. After that, brick break and Air Cutter take out all 3 remaining pokemon.
financial stability-20.png

The second one has Teddiursa 22, Nidorina 22, Granbull 23, Sunflora 20. Again, Air Cutter and Brick Break trivialize this fight with some luck.
From this point, we have defeated the Route 3 trainers, and progress to Mt Moon.
financial stability-21.png

But first we pick up this Nugget.
Now, Mt Moon is our first real gauntlet. We cant leave once we have gone inside, except through the exit near Cerulean, so we cannot heal our party outside of Potions for the entire cave. In addition, we REALLY want to battle all the trainers inside here that we can. If all that wasnt bad enough, this cave has Shuckle on the first floor, which has Shadow Tag as an ability. With PP management being a concern and Shuckle being so bulky, we need to have Sentret on our team to guarantee we can always run away from Shuckles via Run Away, so we are going into the cave with 5 teamslots available instead of 6. Im not actually sure all this is possible with my current team, so I save outside the cave and backup my save incase I need to reset.
But before we enter, there is still one more thing we need to do in prep.
financial stability-22.png

Charmander gets fed a whopping 21 Candy, bringing it to Level 31. We delay evolution in order for Charm to learn Flamethrower at Level 31, after which we let it evolve (forgot to grab a screenshot of the evolution).
This leaves us with a measly 24 Candy left. So it is more imperative than ever that we battle every trainer in here.
With Drought and Flamethrower and its high level, Charmeleon has become our most powerful pokemon on neutral targets, and we will most definitely abuse him here.
financial stability-23.png
financial stability-24.png

The first trainer here has Beedrill 25, Ariados 25, Venonat 26, Dustox 25, Heracross 24, Trapinch 25. Skarmory annihilates this fight. We use Skarm instead of Charmander so that we dont have to fear Poison from the first four, and because Heracross is a bitch to switch into.
financial stability-25.png
financial stability-26.png

This guy has Geodude 24, Graveler 25, Larvitar 21. Water Gun Marshtomp takes care of him.
financial stability-27.png
financial stability-28.png

This grunt has Golbat 30, Delcatty 30. Charmander torches Golbat, then Skarm comes in to take care of Delcatty. We spam Sand Attack then Air Cutter because Delcatty is quite bulky and we need to get lucky here in order to win.
financial stability-29.png
financial stability-30.png

This girl has a Clefable, level 26. Flamethrower takes her out cleanly.
financial stability-31.png
financial stability-32.png

This guy has Mareep 26, Electrike 28. Marshtomp Mud Shot takes care of him.
Defeating the last trainer gets us access to some items, namely 2 Ether, 1 Moon Stone, and 1 Sun Stone. Useful for later, I imagine.
financial stability-33.png
financial stability-34.png

This kid has Furret 26, Raticate 26, Linoone 26. Hardest fight so far, and Heracross is basically dead at this point.
financial stability-35.png

We get a Nugget for our troubles.
financial stability-36.png

This Rocket guy guards a second Nugget. Donphan 28, Raticate 29, Houndoom 30. We kill Donphan with Skarmory, and Houndoom comes out. We go to Heracross as Houndoom Embers him down to 6HP. Heracross kills, then switches back out to Skarm, who manager to take out Raticate without too much worry.
financial stability-38.png

And we get a Nugget for our trouble.
financial stability-39.png
financial stability-40.png

Noctowl 28 and Gligar 28. We use Skarm for Noctowl and Marshtomp for Gligar.
financial stability-41.png
financial stability-42.png

And finally, Lickitung 24, Kekleon 30. We use Heracross for Lickitung, and to get a big hit off on Kekleon afterwards. Unfortunately, he dies to Kekleon. Skarm comes in and Air Cutters the now Fighting-Type Kekleon.
financial stability-43.png
financial stability-44.png

And here I was stupid. I forgot to take the Amulet Coin off Heracross before this fight, so ended up getting way less money than I should have. Flaafy 26, Gulpin 25, Koffing 28. Marshtomp, Marshtomp, Charmeleon.
financial stability-45.png

We take the Dome Fossil because Kabutops looks slightly better than Omastar.
financial stability-46.png

We pick up an Antidote here.
financial stability-47.png

And make our way to Cerulean!
Now we cant do anything until we beat Cerulean Gym.
I look over the fights, and we definitely need another pokemon.
We can find level 22 Sandshrew in Route 4. So we catch one. Then, we use 9 candy on it, NOT delaying evolution, so it can learn Mud Shot as Sandslash at Level 31. This leaves us at 15 Candy.
financial stability-66.png

I forgot to take a catching screenshot but heres the good boy.
financial stability-49.png
financial stability-50.png
financial stability-48.png

Misty has a Poliwrath 27, Tentacruel 28 and a Starmie 30. Skarm takes care of Poliwrath, Sandslash takes care of Tentacruel, and Hera takes care of Starmie, who does not have a psychic type move.
financial stability-52.png

This guy is Brawly. He has an Aipom Level 27, Donphan Level 28, and Hariyama Level 30. We use Hera for Aipom, Charmeleon for Donphan, and Skarm for Hariyama.
(he gives us 6k).
financial stability-54.png
financial stability-55.png
financial stability-56.png
financial stability-57.png

Another double battle.
Bellsprout 26, Diglett 26, Cloyster 30, Steelix 30.
financial stability-58.png
financial stability-59.png

It takes some combination of Charmeleon, Skarm, Sandslash and Hera to beat this, with Charm and Hera going down in the middle of the fight. But eventually, we prevail, and get a buttload of money as a reward.
financial stability-60.png
financial stability-62.png

We also get Water Pulse!

And we will leave it off at that!

:sentret: 5
:marshtomp: 24
:heracross: 23
:skarmory: 29
:treecko: 10
:bellsprout: 17
:squirtle: 5
:sandslash: 31
:charmeleon: 31
:torchic: 10

Level Candy: 15
Nuggets: 3
Pokeballs: 0
Potions: 1
Antidote: 2
Ether: 2
Moon Stone: 1
Sun Stone: 1

Player Money: $42780

Thats all for this update! See you all later!

empire672 There is no phys-special split, I checked with the creator. Its based on type. Pokemon have their base stats shifted around to take advantage of their STABs and coverage tho, for example Hitmonchan is now special based to take advantage of elemental punches.

financial stability-0.png

Last time we left off having just defeated Misty (side note, I know the leaders have been changed but Im not going thru my notes to lookup the names, I will be referring to the leaders by their FR names). This time, we'll go all the way to Lt. Surge.
financial stability-1.png
financial stability-2.png

There is a guy in this building who offers a Rayquaza for a TTar. We can pick up Larvitar in Mt Moon.
financial stability-3.png

The first thing we do is buy 1 pokeball
financial stability-4.png

Then we buy 85 Candies. This brings our total upto 100.
financial stability-6.png
financial stability-7.png

I find one after AGES (its like a 2.5% chance), and I KO the first one by accident. Learning to not use Absorb, I find a second one and then use Pound instead, before I catch it. Not being able to spam pokeballs is really annoying, but I'm still really liking the resource management.
financial stability-9.png
financial stability-10.png

TTar is locked at Level 55. I spam half of my 100 candies to evolve Larvitar.
financial stability-11.png
financial stability-12.png
financial stability-13.png
financial stability-14.png

!!!!
I was at first very excited about my new rayqauza, and then literally 5 mins later realised that it was only available right now because its a trade pokemon. It wont fuckin obey. I have a level 55 rayquaza that will kill anything...25% of the time.
God fuckin dammit
financial stability-16.png

The Nugget Bridge and Routes 24/25 are a gauntlet. Once you enter you cannot leave except when you get to Bill's House. In prep, I use 9 Candies on Charmeleon, getting it to Charizard.
financial stability-18.png
financial stability-19.png

We do not learn DD. Flamethrower and Ember are our main tools, if I ever have to use fuckin Scratch its over.
I also use 7 Candies on Heracross to get it to Level 30. This is just to ensure I outspeed some upcoming mons, 23 doesnt cut it anymore.
This brings our total down to 34.
financial stability-17.png

And the second we jump the ledge Gary ambushes us.
financial stability-21.png

He has a Swellow, Nuzleaf, Nosepass and Linoone, all 30. Charizard takes out Swellow, then Linoone comes in. We can KO it with two embers as it uselessly sets up a Curse. Nosepass comes in. We shift to Marshtomp on the incoming rock slide, then Heracross on the Mega Punch. Heracross at level 30 outspeeds and one shots the Nosepass with Brick Break. Nuzleaf comes in, and we go Skarm, who handily takes care of it.
financial stability-22.png

First trainer of the gauntlet.
financial stability-24.png

The Bug Catcher has a Masquerain 32, Heracross 32, Shedinja 33 and Vibrava 33. Charizard takes care of all of them with Flamethrower + Ember for Shed.
financial stability-25.png

The camper has a Roselia 33, Sudowoodo 33, Jumpluff 33 and Stantler 33. I start with Skarm for Roselia, then switch to Hera on Sudowoodo. Jumpluff I initially go to Skarm, but he wastes a lot of my PP with Synth + Leech Seed, so after about 8 turns I just switch to Char and kill it with Ember. Stantler gets Flamethrowered to death.
financial stability-26.png

Second back to back.
financial stability-27.png

The youngster has Quagsire 32, Miltank 32, Pupitar 33, Camreupt 33. Quaggie gets Rayquazad, who manages to use Fly after two turns of disobedience. Miltank gets scorched by Char Flamethrower. Pupitar and Camerupt fall to Sandslash.
financial stability-28.png

The Lass has Pidgeotto 32, Blissey 32, Togetic 33, Cacnea 33. Blissey in this hack has 255 HP 1 Sp.Def (cuz Chansey has 255 HP 1 Def), and it falls to a single Ember. Because of this, Charizard can clean up the whole team.
financial stability-29.png

Last back to back.
financial stability-30.png

Mankey 32, Breloom 32, Chinchou 33, Qwilfish 33. Rayquaza takes out Mankey then is extremely stupid for 6 whole turns, leading to it being in red HP and paralyzed while Breloom is at full. I switch to Char and Ember, then switch to Sandslash on Qwil. Sandslash hits 3 Mud Shots through Double Team, and takes out Chinchou with 2 Mud Shots.
financial stability-28.png

NidoranM 32, NidoranF 32, Nidorino 33, Nidorina 33. Sandslash kills everything except Nidorino. Char comes in for an Flamethrower kill on the Nidorino.
financial stability-32.png

The rocket grunt has Ekans 33, Gulpin 33, Delcatty 33, Vigoroth 33, Lickitung 33, Seviper 33. Charizard takes out everything.
financial stability-33.png

We pick up TM 45 here.
financial stability-34.png

And some Pecha berries.
financial stability-36.png

We use one of our Ethers on Charizard Flamethrower. We find another one in the grass, forgot to take a screenshot.
And now onto Route 25 trainers.
financial stability-37.png
financial stability-35.png

Larvitar 35. Flamethrower.
financial stability-38.png

Corphish 32, Baltoy 32, Oddish 32. Flamethrower, Ember > Ember, Ember.
financial stability-40.png
financial stability-39.png

Slowpoke 35. Flamethrower.
financial stability-41.png

The picknicker at the bottom of the last image. Double Battle, Plusle and Minun, 33 both. Flamethrower + Mud Shot.
financial stability-42.png
financial stability-43.png

Raticate 32, Murkrow 32. Flamethrower > Ember > Ember.
financial stability-46.png
financial stability-47.png

Nosepass 32, Graveler 32, Pineco 33, Omanyte 33. Sandslash takes out Nosepass, dies to Omanyte. Marshtomp weakens Omanyte. Char comes in and kills with Flamethrower, then two more Flamethrowers win the battle.
financial stability-48.png

Oran Berry
financial stability-49.png
financial stability-51.png

Arbok 35, Ledian 35. Flamethrower, Ember>Ember. And with that we have won the gauntlet.
financial stability-53.png

Fun fact, when I was 4 playing Pokemon Red, I had no idea we had to interact with the computer. I thought the game was broken or something. For four months I just levelled up my bulbasaur in the grass outside Vermillion, hoping the SS Anne would let me on it. My cousin had to look at my game and tell me I was a fucking idiot.
financial stability-55.png

I will not make the same mistake this time.
financial stability-56.png
financial stability-57.png

Forgot to screencap the money count. Also cant find the team in the docs. Oh well, it was likely a char massacre.
financial stability-58.png

I always felt really bad for this guy. I used to try for hours to give him his stupid TM28 back. But this man never asked for it.
financial stability-60.png
financial stability-61.png

Another legendary trade here. We cant access Bagon yet, however.
financial stability-63.png

On route 6. Forretress 34, Beautifly 33, Shedinja 33. Ember 3x. Also, 792 with the Amulet Coin is SHAMEFUL.
financial stability-64.png

I decide I want a Scyther. Scizor seems pretty cool, it has Rough Skin in this.
financial stability-65.png

We find a Nugget here.
financial stability-67.png
financial stability-66.png

Neutral is disheartening, but we have a Scyther now!
Side note, catching in this game is a chore, especially now that we are getting into the rare pokemon territory, and we still dont have access to Great Balls. It just means so much resetting so we dont waste money on broken Pokeballs.
financial stability-69.png
financial stability-68.png

Marshtomp 35. Flamethrower twice.
financial stability-71.png
financial stability-70.png

Raticate 33, Pikachu 33. You know the drill.
financial stability-73.png

Anorith 35. Surprisingly only 1 ember. Char stronk.
financial stability-74.png

Another b2b.
financial stability-75.png

Swellow 38, Quilava 38, Lombre 38
The first battle in a long while where Char doesnt destroy everything. Quilava has Flash Fire, so we need to use Skarm for Swellow, Sandslash for Quilava, and then Flamethrower Char for Lombre.
financial stability-77.png

Wartortle 40, Bayleef 40. This one is a joke tho. Skarm takes care of Wartortle, then Charm kills Bayleef with Ember.
financial stability-78.png

And we are at Vermillion!
financial stability-79.png

We get the Old Rod from this dude.
financial stability-80.png

Money check
28 is niiiice.
We go through Diglett tunnel (now renamed Long Cave cuz you cant encounter Diglett there), and backtrack to Pewter.
financial stability-81.png
financial stability-82.png

Nah, Char is the only Fire/Flying I need. Maybe later tho.
financial stability-83.png

This patch of grass infuriates me. Why is it there if I cant access it!!!
We spend the rest of our money on Rare Candies. We get to 90 Candies.
Then, we use 22 Candies on Marshtomp, delaying evolution so we can learn EQ at Level 46.
financial stability-84.png
financial stability-85.png

Along the way we also pick up Muddy Water.
financial stability-87.png

Leggoooo
financial stability-88.png
financial stability-89.png

We also use 13 Candies on Skarm, so it learns Spikes at level 42.
This leaves us with 55 candies.
Now its time to take on the SS Anne!
financial stability-92.png
financial stability-91.png

Growlithe 34, Vulpix 34. Mud Shot twice.
financial stability-97.png
financial stability-98.png

Nidorina 33. Mud Shot.
financial stability-99.png

Noctowl 33, Nidorino 33. Muddy Water Twice, then EQ.
financial stability-100.png

Brick Break TM is definitely useful. I may have to replace Hera in this run at some point.
financial stability-94.png

Snorunt 33, Smeargle 33. Two EQs.
Now we move on to the bottom floor.
financial stability-101.png
financial stability-104.png

Croconaw 33, Lanturn 33, Marill 33. EQ, EQ, EQ.
financial stability-105.png

Pelipper 33, Hitmonchan 33, Seaking 33. Skarm takes care of all.
financial stability-106.png

And we get a Nugget!
financial stability-116.png
financial stability-117.png
financial stability-118.png

We take a quick detour to pickup the three berries.
financial stability-119.png

Im only seeing people from Kanto tho
financial stability-120.png
financial stability-121.png

Makuhita 36, Tentacool 36. EQ twice.
financial stability-123.png
financial stability-122.png

Teddiursa 33, Swinub 33. EQ into Muddy Water.
financial stability-126.png
financial stability-127.png

Goldeen 35, Wooper 35, Whismur 32, Lairon 32. Here is where I discover that Swampert and Skarm are a fantastic duo for doubles. EQ and Air Cutter kill everything.
financial stability-128.png

Volbeat 32, Illumise 32. Same deal.
financial stability-129.png

Another Nugget!
financial stability-130.png
financial stability-131.png

Arcanine 33, Rapidash 33.
financial stability-132.png

Lickitung 35, Zangoose 35.
financial stability-133.png

Another Nugget!
There were some more battles and 2 more nuggets iirc, but I didnt record those for some reason (sleppy).
financial stability-134.png
financial stability-135.png

Swellow, Shiftry, Nosepass, Manectric, Wailord, Linoone, all Level 40. Skarm takes out Swellow after setting up 3 spikes. We go Swamp on Manectric to bait HP Grass, then switch to Char, who takes it out with Flamethrower. Nosepass comes in, and Swampert comes back in to take it out with EQ. Shiftry comes in, and Char has to come in to kill it with Flamethrower, taking a Leaf Storm in the process. Wailord comes in and immediately Rests on the switch to Swamp, who takes it out with 2 EQs. Linoone comes in, and Char takes it out with two Flamethrowers.
financial stability-139.png

Lets gooo
financial stability-141.png

Bye Bye Ship (insert joke about us being taller than the ship here)
With Cut, I want to backtrack some.
financial stability-142.png
financial stability-144.png
financial stability-145.png

We pick up two more Nuggets here.
financial stability-146.png

Money check
We buy 116 candies, bringing our total to 171.
financial stability-143.png

The aide wont give us Flash until we register 10 Pokemon. We are at 8. So I decide to evolve Treecko, finally.
financial stability-147.png
financial stability-148.png

We delay evolution for Treecko until Level 46 to get Giga Drain.
financial stability-149.png
financial stability-150.png

Then we delay Grovyle until 48 to get Dragonbreath.
And we go back to the Aide...and realize that he only counts the Kanto Pokedex. God damn...
financial stability-151.png

Having spent all our money, I have to shamefully sell one of our 10 nuggets to get enough money to afford 2 pokeballs. Then, not taking chances, I catch one ratata and one caterpie.
financial stability-155.png

We finally get Flash.
financial stability-156.png

I also pick up the Old Amber while Im here.
financial stability-171.png

And now for the gym.
financial stability-158.png
financial stability-159.png
financial stability-160.png

Lanturn 36, Manectric 36, Electabuzz 38, Ampharos 40. Swampert kills everything.
financial stability-161.png
financial stability-162.png

Voltorb 36, Electrode 36, Pikachu 38, Raichu 40. He spams double team. Annoying as hell, but Swamp takes the win easily.
financial stability-163.png
financial stability-164.png

Pikachu 21, Pikachu 21. Swamp barely flexes.
financial stability-165.png
financial stability-166.png
financial stability-167.png
financial stability-169.png

Graveler 37, Aggron 38, Onix 39, TTar 40.
Sceptile kills Graveler with Mega Drain, Onix with 2 Dragon Breaths. Swampert takes care of TTar with 3 EQs, and Aggron with 1 EQ.
financial stability-170.png

And we get Shock Wave!

Level Candy: 133
Nuggets: 9
Pokeballs: 0
Potions: 1
Antidote: 2
Ether: 2
Moon Stone: 1
Sun Stone: 1

Naglu Hell yeah I love this game thank you for making it!

financial stability-0.png

Last time we left off, we had just beaten Surge. We wont get to another gym this update, but we will clear a significant part of the mid-game.
financial stability-1.png
financial stability-2.png

I always forget that the Bike is necessary for the Biking Road, and so never pick up the Bike Voucher until I get stuck at Celadon, but this time I am one step ahead >:)
financial stability-3.png
financial stability-4.png

This might unironically be a great trade, Dragonite in this game is a pure Dragon type with unchanged stats, meaning its kinda like a less bulky Goodra with less Sp.Atk and Sp.Def, but with Thick Fat. Given all that, Mew, who now has 111 in every stat, seems much better.
Now lets clear Route 11
financial stability-5.png
financial stability-6.png

Nidoking 42, Granbull 42. Sceptile destroys this part of the game. Leaf Blade + Dragonbreath deals with most things, and Giga Drain gives it a great option for longevity (its been buffed to 95BP), even tho it only has 5 PP.
financial stability-7.png
financial stability-8.png

Magneton 41, Flaaffy 40, Electrike 41. Flamethrower x3.
financial stability-9.png
financial stability-10.png

Seviper 43. Actually a pain to take down, Seviper is Poison/Dragon in this game. Flamethrower in the sun is still a nuke, though, and Char can outlast resists.
financial stability-12.png
financial stability-11.png

Donphan 42, Golbat 42. Barely got out of that one, but again, Flamethrower is a nuke.
financial stability-13.png
financial stability-14.png
financial stability-15.png

Jolteon 43. Surprisingly, it lives a Flamethrower, though it doesnt live the Ember afterwards.
financial stability-16.png
financial stability-17.png

We pick up a Great Ball (this will be important later) and an Antidote (I think).
financial stability-18.png
financial stability-19.png

Linoone 41, Lickitung 41, Teddiursa 41. Once again, Flamethrower is a nuke.
financial stability-20.png

And now we get to the gamblers. These guys are insane. They have full teams of 6 pokemon, but every pokemon only knows Metronome. In addition, they give an insane amount of prize money.
financial stability-23.png

Like, "breaks the game" amounts of prize money.
financial stability-24.png

I genuinely think we could not battle another trainer for the rest of the game and be okay. From my calculations, thats 311 level candies, not counting the ones I already have or the money I'd get from selling nuggets.
Now, the docs for the gamblers are wrong, but I didnt note down what pokes they actually had. It doesnt particularly matter, though, Metronome is just horrible.
financial stability-25.png
financial stability-26.png
financial stability-27.png
financial stability-28.png
financial stability-29.png
financial stability-30.png
financial stability-31.png

So we just clear out these guys, getting an obscene amount of money. And we pick up an Escape Rope as well. This will be relevant.
financial stability-32.png

Say hello to our bestie
financial stability-33.png
financial stability-34.png

This is kind of a strange one. We get access to Beldum wayyy before we get access to the Pokeflute, so Im not sure why this is here. Maybe this Beldum is shiny or something? We'll find out later I suppose.
financial stability-36.png
financial stability-37.png

Route 9 is another gauntlet. And right after that is Rock Tunnel, which is also a gauntlet. You can heal between Route 9 and Rock Tunnel with the pokecenter on Route 10, but you cannot buy more items in between. I reaaaally love this game design, this is such a good way show off your playstyle. Do you waste money on healing items, going for short term safety over your long term gameplan? Do you say "Fuck It, We Ball" and hope for the best? Do you bring pokeballs on the off chance you find something?
financial stability-38.png

Personally, I am a HUGE fan of "Fuck it, we ball". I do look ahead in the docs for what pokemon we can find here, however, and two pokemon catch my eye. Abra is available on Route 9, and Alakazam has been buffed with a whopping 160 Sp.Atk 140 Speed. Aerodactyl is available in Rock Tunnel, with 115 Attack, Rock/Dragon and Rock Head, and being able to learn Head Smash(!!!). I almost decide to go with Alakazam, but its coverage is horrendous. While it can learn the elemental punches, this is only at level 40, whereas kadabra evolves at level 61. So the elemental punches are only for enemy trainers with Zam. Aerodactyl seems more reliable and useful, and Head Smash is a ridiculous move. We only have one Great Ball, and I dont really want to buy more. So, in the end, I decide to forgo Abra, and hone in on Aerodactyl in Rock Tunnel.
financial stability-39.png

This is the picknicker in the above image. Gloom 42, Bellossom 43, Roselia 42, Sunflora 43. Gloom annoyingly paralyzes me.
financial stability-40.png
financial stability-41.png

Machoke 45, Nosepass 45. We use Charizard for Machoke.
financial stability-42.png

We pick up Aerial Ace here.
financial stability-43.png

Forgot to ss where he was, but Houndour 43, Houndoom 44. Mud Shot x2 into EQ.
financial stability-44.png

In prep for an upcoming fight, I use my singular Cheri Berry on Sceptile.
financial stability-45.png
financial stability-46.png

Raticate 43, Breloom 43, Gligar 43, Girafarig 43. Raticate outspeeds, and Gligar lives a Flamethrower.
financial stability-47.png
financial stability-48.png

Armaldo 43, Flygon 45. We hard switch to Sceptile and Leaf Blade x 2 into Dragonbreath x1.
financial stability-49.png

Sudowoodo 41, Aerodactyl 41, Spinda 41. Leaf Blade into Dragonbreath into Giga Drain.
financial stability-51.png

Meh
financial stability-52.png
financial stability-53.png

Graveler 43, Nincada 43. Leaf Blade x 2.
financial stability-54.png
financial stability-55.png

Dustox 44, Vibrava 45, Venonat 46. I am a fucking idiot who forgot to put Amulet Coin on before this fight, which is why the prize money is fuckin peanuts. Bad Winter.
financial stability-56.png
financial stability-57.png

Dunsparce 50. That should have been 2k ;-;
financial stability-58.png

We take a quick heal at the Center on Route 10.
financial stability-59.png

Me too!
financial stability-62.png
financial stability-63.png

Charmander 40, Cyndaquil 41, Torchic 42, Squirtle 43, Totodile 44, Mudkip 45. We use Swamp for the fire starters, then Scept for the water ones.
financial stability-64.png
financial stability-65.png

I use the little space before the ledge in Rock Tunnel to run around until I can catch this boy. 12 resets to catch one with Rock Head in a Great Ball, btw.
Before we enter proper, I teach Flash to Bellsprout, who is the only pokemon in my box who I can spare the moveslot on that can learn it.
financial stability-66.png
financial stability-67.png

Shuckle 45, Cradily 45. Scept for Shuck and Skarm for Cradily.
Team and box update: our three starters (Charizard, Swampert and Sceptile) are 100% our best pokes rn. Theyre high level, have great STABs, and can generally tank a hit or two or just outspeed and OHKO what I need them to. In gauntlets like these, where I cant heal and my healing supply is precious, theyre invaluable. Skarm, on the other hand, has really fallen off at this point in the game. I thought Spikes + Roost would be invaluable, but the Spikes dont really make sense if I just OHKO everything anyways. Hera has not been useful since before Misty, Sandslash was honestly a mistake looking back, I should have just saved the candy and gone all in on Marshtomp in Misty. Rayquaza will probably be OP once I get the badge that lets it actually listen to me. However, I definitely think I 100% needed Skarm and Hera in the early game, I genuinely dont know how you get past Brock without either of them. That being said, theres some fun pokemon I see coming up soon in the docs, so lets see where the game goes from here regarding teams.
financial stability-68.png
financial stability-74.png

Meowth 45, Snubbul 45, Taillow 45. Leaf Blade, Dragonbreath, Dragonbreath.
financial stability-70.png
financial stability-71.png

Marowak 45, Slowking 45. Leaf Blade>Leaf Blade>Dragonbreath
financial stability-72.png
financial stability-69.png

We find a couple items as well
financial stability-77.png
financial stability-78.png

Venusaur 45, Sceptile 45, Meganium 45. 5 Flamethrowers total.
financial stability-79.png

Another Stone.
financial stability-80.png
financial stability-81.png

Kangaskhan 45, Tyrogue 45, Teddiursa 45. A REALLY brutal fight tbh
financial stability-82.png

Kecleon 45, Jumpluff 45. Jumpluff lives a Dragonbreath which is frustrating as hell.
financial stability-83.png
financial stability-84.png

Rhyhorn 45, Rhydon 45, Corsola 45. We use Giga Drain on Corsola, but it lives and hits us with Rock Blast.
financial stability-85.png
financial stability-86.png

Larvitar 45, Onix 45, Lairon 45. We heal up on Lairon with Giga Drain at the end.
financial stability-87.png
financial stability-91.png
financial stability-92.png

We find the Rock Slide tutor here. I dont think we need this yet though.
Now, there is an upcoming double battle back to back that looks REALLY scary, so I decide to do sth a lil cautious and use my escape rope. I go back to the Pokecenter and grab Aerodactyl out of the box. Then I feed it 33 Candies, getting it to level 51.
financial stability-95.png

Where it learns Head Smash.
Also, funny enough, this is where I realize that the docs are wrong, and Charizard is a Fire/Dragon, not Fire/Flying in this game.
financial stability-94.png
financial stability-96.png

Togetic 45, Natu 45, Wynaut 45, Ludicolo 45, Tauros 45, Delcatty 45. Aerodactyl Head Smashes everything until Tauros and Delcatty are on the field at once, where upon it switches for Char, who takes out Tauros, Delcatty and Aerodactyl with help from Skarm.
financial stability-97.png

Bellsprout 45, Clefairy 45, Skiploom 45, Aipom 45, Remoraid 45, Delibird 45. Head Smash is a broken move.
financial stability-103.png
financial stability-104.png

And immediately upon leaving we are assaulted. Pidgeot 42, Swellow 42. As expected, Aero takes care of both.
financial stability-106.png

Forretress 42, Aggron 42. Char supremacy.
financial stability-107.png
financial stability-108.png

Steelix 42, Omastar 42.
financial stability-109.png

Slowking 42, Slowbro 42. I love Sceptile so fucking much its so broken help
financial stability-111.png

And with that, we make it to Lavender!

ant4456 I dont think theres anything in the game that punishes that strat, no. It would be incredibly boring, however.

financial stability-112.png

Last time, we had just gotten to Lavender. We'll clear all of Celadon today.
financial stability-113.png

But first, theres something on Route 8 I would really like. Luckily, we can FINALLY buy Great Balls in Lavender. I pick one up for 600, and now its time to catch...
financial stability-114.png

Beldum! This was an easy catch, given the low level. I use Bellsprout to get it low and then Sleep Powder. And...its Timid Nature. Goddammit.
I reset and try again.
financial stability-115.png
financial stability-116.png

And its Bold. Goddammit.
financial stability-117.png

Then I miss Sleep Powder twice and it kills itself with Take Down recoil.
THEN, the next two I find break out of their ball.
THEN, I crit Vine Whip and kill the next one I find.
Finally, after half an hour
financial stability-118.png
financial stability-119.png

We find a neutral nature Beldum.
financial stability-120.png

We immediately start putting candy into it. Metagross's stats are completely unchanged from Vanilla, and it still gets access to Meteor Mash and Psychic. This, ofcourse, means that it is completely overpowered for this part of the game.
I put 55 candy into Beldum. It evolves into Metang at Level 21. It wants to evolve into Metagross at 45, but I delay evolution until 56. This lets us learn Psychic, Meteor Mash and, importantly, Agility.
financial stability-124.png
financial stability-125.png

Im so hyped about my new toy that I actually check its IVs using psypoke
beldumivs.png

Im AGGRESSIVELY okay with these. 2 Speed is rough, but we needed Agility to outspeed mons in any case. 21 attack and 24 Sp.Atk is more than enough when our stats are so high.
So, why Metagross? Now that Skarm is being left behind, we need a bulky pokemon that can hit hard. Metagross takes over the steel type role, trading sheer defensiveness for a much better offensive presence. We could also have gotten one with Levitate, but unfortunately theres no way to tell if a Beldum will evolve into a Clear Body Metagross or a Levitate Metagross, and I wasnt willing to reset again when I had a pretty good metagross.

My original choice for new mon for this split was Blaziken, who has been buffed to have 125 Attack and 125 Sp.Atk (although it loses speed and bulk). However, I REALLY want to delay evolution on Combusken till level 61 so it can learn Ice Punch, and 61 would break the level curve pretty significantly right now, so I decide to hold off on that for a bit. Im glad I did, Metagross is really fucking fun to use.

All that being said, its time to do some fuckin battles
financial stability-126.png
financial stability-127.png

Clefable 45, Wigglytuff 45. Clefable dies to a single Meteor Mash. I wanna try out all my options, so I kill Wiggly with Psychic (it takes 3).
financial stability-128.png
financial stability-129.png

Gulpin 45, Grimer 45, Swalot 45. 3 Psychics.
financial stability-130.png
financial stability-131.png

Weezing 45, Camerupt 45. I forget that Weezing is part dark, and take some damage as I uselessly Psychic into it. Meteor Mash + 2 Muddy Waters takes it out, however.
financial stability-132.png
financial stability-133.png

Nidorina 45, Nidoqueen 45. Psychic x 2.
financial stability-134.png
financial stability-135.png

Pidgeot 45, Loudred 45, Seedot 45, Swablu 45, Pikachu 45. I Agility on Pidgeot, then sweep with a combination of Meteor Mash and Psychic.
financial stability-136.png
financial stability-137.png
financial stability-138.png

Porygon 45. Meteor Mash x 2.
I double back to a pokecenter after this. The bad thing about Meta is it only has 20 useful PP.
financial stability-140.png
financial stability-141.png

We find some items on the way.
financial stability-142.png
financial stability-143.png

Plusle 45, Minun 45. EQ.
financial stability-144.png
financial stability-145.png

Skitty 45, Meowth 45, Persian 45. Sceptile heals up on Skitty, takes out Meowth with Leaf Blade, then takes a quick attack and bite as Persian takes two Dragonbreaths.

financial stability-148.png

Voltorb 45, Electrode 45, Gulpin 45, Beldum 45. We bring Char out for a spin, and it shows its worth immediately as it oneshots Voltorb with Ember.
financial stability-149.png
financial stability-150.png

Koffing 45, Seviper 45, Grimer 45. Even being the lowest level on our party, (not counting stinky bellsprout), Char fucks shit up with sun boosted Flamethrower.
financial stability-151.png

Havent gotten one of those in a bit. I've probably missed a lot, though.
financial stability-152.png

And we get to Celadon!
financial stability-153.png

We grab the Tea immediately, then double back to Route 8 again to get the last of the trainers out of the way.
financial stability-154.png

My favorite gamblers!
financial stability-155.png
financial stability-156.png

Oh jeez
Jigglypuff 80, Sableye 81, Chansey 82, Abra 83, Poliwhirl 84, Machoke 85. This takes a LOT. When the trainers have levels almost double yours, even Metronome Tackle does a lot of damage, and I end up spending most of my parties PP taking this guy down.
financial stability-157.png

We do take him down, though.
After a quick trip to the pokecenter...
financial stability-158.png
financial stability-159.png

Togepi 85, Blissey 86, Alakazam 87, Clefable 88, Snorlax 89, Hypno 90. Fun fact, Swampert was my last mon alive. I BARELY got out of this one.

Money check

financial stability-163.png
financial stability-164.png

We go to Celadon Department Store. They sell some useful stuff, including TMs we will need later, but the best bang for our buck is these three TMs here. Even if we dont use them, we can sell them for a bit of a profit.
financial stability-165.png

Perv
financial stability-166.png
financial stability-167.png

Oddish 41, Gloom 42, Vileplume 43, Bellossom 44. Char is broken.
financial stability-168.png
financial stability-169.png

Stantler 45, Miltank 45.
financial stability-170.png

Forgot to grab a screenshot of the victory screen, but 3240 prize money. Bellsprout 41, Weepinbell 42, Victreebell 43, Roselia 44, Ludicolo 45.
financial stability-171.png
financial stability-172.png

Ivysaur 45, Grovyle 45.
financial stability-173.png
financial stability-174.png

Sunkern 45, Sunflora 45.
At this point, I check our money, and we have like 950k. If we hit the money cap of 999999, any further battles will be wasted. So I go and buy 200 candies, bringing out total upto 255.
financial stability-175.png
financial stability-176.png

And now, Erika!
Victreebel, Tangela, Venusaur, Vileplume, Vileplume, all 45. We use Metagross, setting up an Agility on the Victreebel, then killing it with Psychic. Venu comes in and survives a psychic on 1 HP, putting us to sleep. It Leech Seeds, then EQs a bunch (which we tank), before we wake up and kill it. Tangela comes in, and annoyingly it is immune to Psychic, which I should have checked. Aero comes in and cleans up with Head Smash.
financial stability-177.png
financial stability-178.png

Flannery is a joke.
Sunflora, Octillery, Camerupt, Torkoal, Houndoom, all 45. Aero gets the Ancient Power boost on Sunflora, then kills everything with Head Smash. Broken pokemon.
financial stability-179.png
financial stability-180.png

Weezing, Mawile, Huntail, Umbreon, Typhlosion, all 45. Same deal as Flannery, down to getting an Ancient Power boost on Weezing. Mawile and Umbreon take a bit to go down, but it all goes down eventually.
financial stability-181.png
financial stability-182.png

We still cant use Ray ;-;
