Gen Six's Cresselia?

Overview
########

Pros:
  • Has great 101 / 72 / 89 bulk.
  • Gets a Fairy typing, which resists Bug- , Dark- , and Fighting-Type while also being immune to Dragon-Type moves.
  • Ability prevents itself and its allies from being taunted and encored.
  • Amazing support movepool, having access move like heal pulse
  • Can function well as a Trick Room setter along with its slow base 29 speed
Cons:
  • Can be outspeed by most, if not all, of the metagame outside of trick room.
  • Can easily be forced out by pokemon such as Bisharp
  • Average offenses and can easily be punished.
  • Has to compete against other bulkier Trick Room setters such as Reuniclus

Trick Room
########
name: Trick Room
move 1: Trick Room
move 2: Moonblast
move 3: Protect
move 4: Heal Pulse
ability: Aroma Veil
item: Sitrus Berry / Leftovers
evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
nature: Relaxed

Moves
========

  • Trick Room to set the speed tier and let slower threats sweep
  • Moonblast is STAB and allows Aromatisse to do damage
  • Protect punishes double attacking and helps scout opposing pokemon's moves
  • Heal Pulse allows Aromatisse to replenish a weakened teammate's health.

Set Details
========
  • Max investment in defense allows Aromatisse to take hits on both sides.
  • Sitrus Berry allows Aromatisse to replenish its health in a pinch
  • Leftovers is used for semi-reliable healing and can be used if Sitrus Berry is used.
  • Special investment is also viable, but Aromatisse's typing is more designed for taking physical hits.

Usage Tips
========
  • It is a bulky meatshield; use it to switch in to attacks or use as a fodder
  • Set Trick Room as quickly as possible
  • Use Heal Pulse on weakened teammates to restore their health
  • Don't attack unless there is a weakened enemy pokemon or if there is a pokemon with a 4x weakness to Fairy

Team Options
========

  • Steel-Types such as Mawile-Mega have typing synergy and can switch in to Aromatisse's weaknesses easily
  • Pokemon with Fake Out, particularly Scrafty who can abuse Trick Room, so it can make Trick Room setting easier
  • Amoongus' Rage Powder can help Aromatisse set up Trick Room and can spore necessary threats
  • Pokemon with slow base speed make good partners with Aromatisse as they can abuse Trick Room.

Other Options
########

  • Aromatisse has access to Dual Screens, but is outclassed by Sylveon, which has more offensive presence and better bulk
  • Misty Terrain can be used to protect teammates from status.
  • Aromatisse can run a all-out offensive set or a offensive Trick Room set to deal damage.
  • Aromatisse's other ability, Healer can be used to heal teammate's status conditions. However, it is not as effective than guaranteeing trick room set up, but it can be used to bluff Aroma Veil.

Checks & Counters
########

  • Steel-Types, particularly Ferrothorn and Mawile-Mega, which walls and destroys Aromatisse respectively and both can abuse Trick Room.
  • Poison-Types also wall Aromatisse, especially Amoongus who can use Trick Room for itself.
  • Assault Vest users can take anything Aromatisse has to offer.
  • Kangaskhan-Mega can annihilate Aromatisse and prevent it from setting with its Fake Out/Return Combo.

I'm not QC or anything but am very interested in a Doubles analysis for this mon. I would definitely include a Sassy set. I would say Leftovers is a viable item worth including with Sitrus Berry and Rocky Helmet. It says has to compete against Reuniclus for a spot as a bulky TR setter, but I'd say Reuniclus could be the back-up TR setter of the team. I'd say Aromatisse is the ideal TR setter as Fake Out is it's only stop I believe. I use an offensive Reuniclus as my second TR setter as more times than not I have to set TR again during a battle. I'd put Moonblast/Dazzling Gleam as the move for the second spot since in Double Battles Dazzling Gleam can be very useful. Just my input!

As it is a TR pokemon, shouldn't the nature be Relaxed / Sassy with a 0 speed IV

Put Dazzling Gleam in moves as it is too weak coming from Aromatisse

Remove Fairy from the Trick Room set.

The ability could be Aroma Veil / Healer as they are both useful, but if you are not so keen on slashing Healer (which I would totally understand) at least give it a set details mention. If you slash it, make sure to mention Mental Herb in set details for use alongside Healer.

Slash Safety Goggles and Leftovers on TR set and remove Rocky Helmet: it is not physically bulky enough to use it effectively. The item slashes should look like this:
Sitrus Berry / Safety Goggles / Leftovers

The second set should be Dual Screens set:

Dual Screens
########
name: Dual Screens
move 1: Reflect
move 2: Light Screen
move 3: Moonblast / Heal Pulse
move 4: Protect
ability: Aroma Veil
item: Light Clay
evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
nature: Bold

No Healer as this is too reliant on status moves: no un-slashed attacking move.

Make a third set and have it full-on support

Support
########
name: Support
move 1: Heal Pulse
move 2: Misty Terrain / Aromatherapy
move 3: Moonblast
move 4: Protect
ability: Aroma Veil / Healer
item: Sitrus Berry / Safety Goggles / Leftovers

Aromatic Mist for OO

Grammatical doozie. you don't type "Nature" after "Bold," "Modest", "Calm", "Adamant", "Relaxed" etc.

The EVs on all of the sets could be made better, but I just put simple spreads on the sets for now. Will post better spreads later.

Safety goggles are only useful against the common venusaur and amoongus, both of which can easily destroy aromatisse with a sludge bomb. Misty terrain is probably OO material. Dual screen set is kind of outclassed by Sylveon and Klefki, so that will probably mentioned in in OO with conjunction with Heal Pulse. RH will be OO too. I slashed Leftovers. Aromatisse may be a good candidate for resist berries.

Wouldn't Light Screen be better?
Ususally, but sometimes you want the permanent effect over a 5 turn effect. Using Aromatic Mist would mean that you aren't forced to run Light Clay, letting you hold something more useful.

It is also useful to prevent weather damage, which is very helpful. Also, Amoonguss doesn't always carry Sludge Bomb, but you can tank Amoonguss' Sludge Bomb anyway: 0 SpA Amoonguss Sludge Bomb vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Aromatisse: 186-222 (45.8 - 54.6%) -- 54.3% chance to 2HKO. At least put it in OO, but definitely remove Rocky Helmet from the set. Aromatisse doesn't enjoy taking physical hits without Intimidate support even when it does run max HP/Def and Bold. Misty Terrain is useful on teams which are fairly weak to Dragon-type moves while also acting like a Safeguard (all of this for grounded 'mons, obviously). I would probably slash it into the main set, or at least give it a moves mention as it is very helpful.

Edit: Never mind. Misty Terrain shouldn't go beyond OO.

Okay, QC ready. Also, gamer boy , how can I have clickable sprites like the ones in your signature?
I got them off Bulbapedia by going to the Pokemon before it in national dex order's page and c/p-ing the picture from the link to the next Pokemon (at the very top of the article). I made them clickable like this:
Code:

You need to add to the cons that it has pitiful attack so its pretty easy to punish. If you have in Aromatisse and Trick Room on a Rotom-W, Rotom-W just spams WoW until you bring in Mawile. IMO if you're using it to block taunt use mental herb on a good TR setter like Reuniclus.

I personally think Aromatisse isn't great but yeah. You want your TR setter to do something. Dual Screens is silly. The only set I'd run is the one you have. Add to checks and counters that its just pooped on by like Mega Mawile and Mega Kangas.

Add Mega Mawile as a teammate it fits into both your categories described here:
  • Steel-Types such as Ferrothorn have typing synergy and can switch in to Aromatisse's weaknesses easily
  • Pokemon that abuse Trick Room make good teammates with Aromatisse
I'm skeptical on Ferrothorn as a partner because you're going to want strong shit. The point of TR is really to let Mawile poop on everything.

When you say this:
  • Pokemon that abuse Trick Room make good teammates with Aromatisse
You should mention what exactly abuses the TR. Reuniclus is good under TR, but it can set it itself... the main reason to use TR is really to make Mega Mawile really really good.

Jonater bumping this please read my comments.

alright i added the changes.

I'm going to approve this but next time I see a bad pokemon I'm rejecting it. Move Mega Mawile to the top of Team Options please because its the most relevant.

qc: 2/2

Since the author died and Aromatisse is pretty bad, I'll probably just get someone to trash this.
