Assassins-Mastery of the Hidden Blade

Stealth Is The Name of The Game

Introduction: The increase in Bulky Offense creates new teams like Semi-Stall. Which is the style of play I actively despise. I want to go for a style that is like my own: Speedy Offense. I come in quick and fast, gain the momentum, and then proceed to end this quick and fast. A team consisting of Status Inflicters, Phazers, Sweepers, and Wall-Breakers are generally the BEST!

Team Purpose: This style can be used against various Metagame styles like Bulky Offense, Stall, Semi-Stall, etc.

Animus (Gliscor) @ Lum Berry
156 HP/ 216 Speed/ 136 Atk
Jolly Nature
Hyper Cutter
-Stealth Rock
-U-Turn
-Roost
-Taunt
Role: The
start-up for my team. Capturing the momentum, I usually outdo many leads. Gliscor's natural bulk is amazing with awesome typing. I wonder why people wonder why I'm not going with Impish. I want to outrun Jolly Lucario with 252 Speed and 252 Timid Roserade. I outrun each by a lucky two points.

Moveset: Stealth Rock lets my team do residual damage quickly and effectively. Stealth Rock just about stop Gyarados who are trying to switch in a set-up. U-Turn is an awesome scouting move to find out what pokemon my opponent has that utilizes an Ice move or Water move. Roost is to recover damage that I take. Taunt is a general move to stop status inflicter and SR-ers.
Animus is the machine that Assassins Creed uses to simulate memories of Altair and Ezio. Plus it sounds cool.

Altair (Infernape) @ Life Orb
252 Speed/ 252 Atk/ 6 HP
Blaze
Jolly Nature
-Swords Dance
-Close Combat
-Thunder Punch
-Overheat
Role: Late-Game sweeper that no one sees coming. They all think I'm NPApe or Mixnape, however SDnape can be equally devasting. Honing in on the role of the Hidden Blade since it can literally end everything if played right. Although people see this Nape set as a rather useless set since its only honing in on its atk. base, but can function even better than Lucario at times.

Moveset: Swords Dance is a given since it boosts Infernape's Atk Stat to 614 which is devasting combined with Life Orb. Close Combat is for general STAB and in tandem with Swords Dance and Life Orb. It packs a HELL OF A PUNCH! Thunderpunch is for Gyarados hoping to switch in and get OHKO'ed by it. I tried Psypoke's calc. for T-Punch and I Lol-ed when I tried it on Gyarados. It did twice the possible amount. Overheat is for general stab and it does a shit load despite no EV's in Sp. A.
Altair is the protagonist in Assassins Creed 1 and he is the best known user of the Hidden Blade. Who else could want more!?

Lucy (Latias) @ Leftovers
176 HP/ 252 Speed/ 80 Sp. A
Timid Nature
Levitate
-Calm Mind
-HP Fire
-Dragon Pulse
-Refresh
Role: A bulky CM Latias can spell Trouble for many teams considering that CM boosts Latias to 414 which is very respectable and its Sp. D goes to 444. HP Fire is to deal with Scizor coming in my ass since its my biggest and most dangerous counter.

Moveset: CM is natural, I mean whats a CM Latias without it. HP Fire is to deal with Steels ruining my fun and at a high 414. It'll OHKO Scizor most of the time. Dragon Pulse is its most reliable STAB and Refresh is to take out the status inflicting me like WoW, Toxic, or T-Wave.

485.png

Animus 2.0 (Heatran) @ Leftovers
252 SP. A/ 252 Speed/ 4 HP
Flash Fire
Timid Nature
-Fire Blast
-HP Grass
-Earth Power
-Substitute
Role: My Special Sweeper and it is a good one at that. Don't say shit son cuz it is. This mofo is solid. Its strong with 130 Sp. A, it'll deal a lot of damage. Also, it has considerable bulk and great resistances. Behind a Sub, it can scout out the counter and take it out quickly.

Moveset: Fire Blast is for stab, and EP is for other Heatran that come in with a Scarf. HP Grass is to take out Swampert quickly who otherwise walls this set. Substitute is self explanatory, I hope at this point. I've tested a lot of Heatran, and this by far is my favorite set ever!

212.png

Ezio (Scizor) @ Life Orb
224 HP/ 252 Atk/ 32 Speed
Technician
Adamant Nature
-Swords Dance
-Bullet Punch
-Superpower
-Roost

Role: Awesome pokemon that deserves to be number 1 since its gained access to Bullet Punch and Swords Dance. It has a good nature bulk and lures Fires to me so Heatran gets a nice boost.

Moveset: Swords Dance sky-rockets my damn attack to around 786 which can dent mad pokemon even if they resist my move. Bullet Punch is there for Stab, Technician, and Life Orb. IT'LL DO A SHIT LOAD OF DAMAGE! Superpower is to take out Steels who wall this set and Roost is to heal up Life Orb Damage.

245.png

Desmond (Suicune) @ Leftovers
Modest Nature
Pressure
252 Sp. A/ 48 Speed/ 208 HP
-Calm Mind
-Roar
-Ice Beam
-Surf
Role: Takes all of the hits directed toward my other pokemon like Scizor, Infernape, Gliscor, and Latias. This set can come in and set up with pokemon trying to tie in setting up, so I roar them out and be like LOL! My primary dragon counter and calm minder.

Moveset: Calm Mind is to boost it up to 458. Roar to tell pokemon to GTFO after they swords Dance or sumthing. Ice Beam to hit Dragons awesome. Surf is for general STAB!

Nice Team. Looks like most other standard OU teams, but what doesn't these days. :/

A couple nitpicks, (A) Gliscor - He has 136 attacks Evs whilst his only attacking move is Uturn. If Uturn is for scouting ... why? Use those evs for some bulk.

(B) Change infernape to a naive nature so your overheat does more damage. Naive > Hasty because Scizor's enjoy throwing around bulletpunches at said Infernapes around 50% hp.

(C) Nothing on your team can honestly take a Specs D Meteor. That wouldnt be so much of a problem if your entire team wasnt outrun by any pokemon with 350 speed or higher. A Life Orb Starmie will ANNIHILATE this team. Hydro Pump Infernape + Scizor + Heatran, Tbolt Suicune, Ice Beam Gliscor and Latias. Late game that thing will destroy you.

(D) I am not going to suggest a total revamp, because I find that to be pointless. Instead of roar on suicune, since you dont have entry hazards besides SR, put substitute. Sub/Ice Beam/Surf/Calm Mind is a very good set with leftovers. You have no real revenge killers, so I suggest changing Heatran to maybe a scarf'd version. It would help you deal with troublesome pokemon with a simple *BOOM*.

~252Speed, ~252Spatk ~4hp @ Hasty @ Choice Scarf
Fire Blast
EarthPower
DragonPulse
Explosion

Hope this helps...

Hi.

Your team has potential, but there are a few minor set changes that I would like to suggest to benefit all Pokémon, and Infernape in particular, with sweeping efficiently. First of all, Gliscor absolutely needs Earthquake as it is the only thing allowing it to hit Grounded Pokémon such as Lucario and Tyranitar. I would suggest using it over Taunt mainly because of the problems you have with Azelf leads otherwise, and you're given the opportunity to scout opponent's switches which is ideal for you to get the upper hand, especially on this offensively-based team if you keep U-turn; testing the two alongside Earthquake in an alternating fashion wouldn't be such a bad idea. I don't know what your EV spread for Gliscor is achieving; utilizing 252 HP / 40 Atk / 216 Spe appears to suffice as 136 Atk isn't doing much more than 2HKOing Metagross 100% of the time (which 80 Atk EVs does anyway). Try it out. On a minor note, Sand Veil maybe the smarter choice over Hyper Cutter as Gliscor isn't fit to be dealing with the likes of Salamence and Gyarados anyway -- Sand Veil is more beneficial in this case.

Secondly, you may want to consider using Choice Banded Scizor over your current Swords Dancing spread due to its superiority in trapping foes such as Latias and Starmie, which, when removed, means that Infernape is given some leeway and can use their absence and an opportunity to sweep opponents who generally only carry on check for Infernape. U-turn over Swords Dance means that you're hitting foes very hard and enables you to switch around more fluently, just like Gliscor, so you're one step ahead of foes at most times. With Pursuit you're giving opponents a hard time when making moves against Scizor with their Latias', Starmie, etcetera, forcing opponents against a brick wall when confronted with your late-game onslaught with Infernape. An EV spread of 160 HP / 176 Atk / 4 Spe / 168 SpD will allow you to to take hits better from the likes of Dragon-types attacks from Latias and other special-based attacks that you may be confronted with from the aforementioned Starmie, etcetera.

Thirdly, having Stone Edge on Infernape allows you to deal the same amount of damage to Gyarados after a Swords Dance as ThunderPunch would, and also allows you to hit Salamence too which is an added bonus. Fire Punch over Overheat is a useful change also thanks to the fact that it does the same amount of damage consistently, after a Swords Dance, as Overheat, though the latter is inconsistent during the fact that it causes Infernape to lose it's primary STAB Fire-type attack's power by two stages which isn't useful in late game situations.

There are various flaws with your current Latias set. Firstly, your set lacks Recover, meaning Latias will be unable to take repeated onslaughts from the high powered attackers it tends to switch-in on such as LO Heatran, Infernape, and so on. Additionally, without Recover, setting up Calm Mind's repeatedly will become exceedingly difficult, which decreases Latias' chances of obtaining a sweep. Secondly, I don't see the use for Hidden Power Fire since you have other means of eliminating Scizor from the match with Heatran and Infernape. Hidden Power Fire's Speed IV drop is also a negative side affect which hinders you more than it helps you. Refresh seems to be randomly thrown onto your set; Refresh is usually paired up with Recover so Latias can consistently replenish any damage it has taken, and since you lack the aforementioned move, you'll be hard pressed to keep Latias alive for long. In place of your current set, I recommend using a 3 attack LO Latias. LO Latias packs serious power without having to set up with Calm Mind. A high powered Draco meteor hits most of your foes like a truck. With Latias' powerful moves leaving dents in your opponents team, your other Pokemon will be able to take advantage of the openings left by Latias and clean up.

Latias @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP | 252 Spe | 252 SpA
Nature: Timid
-Draco Meteor
-Surf
-Thunderbolt
-Recover

Draco Meteor is Latias' main STAB move on the set, denting various Pokemon. Surf allows you to hit Pokemon such as Heatran / Infernape / Gliscor supper effectively while providing nice coverage alongside Draco Meteor. Thunderbolt is mainly for Water-types while Recover heals you, allowing you to stick around longer. Latias has the ability to 2HKO the likes of Tyranitar with Surf + Draco Meteor after SR. Recover allows your to replenish your health, which is beneficial with this Latias since it allows it to heal off any damage taken from Life Orb, Stealth Rock, sandstorm, and your opponents attacks, allowing Latias to stick around for a longer duration of time. Without the Speed drop given from Hidden Power Fire like your previous set, this Latias will be able to tie with opposing Latias and other base 100s such as Gengar.

Good Luck!
