Hey, this is my second RMT on Smogon and definitely not my best. This team used to be doing really well and once I had taken a break for a short time, around a month or so due to exams etc. the team started to fail unfortunately. Although, one could say that the problem was me having been out of battling for a month or so...maybe 40 days. However, I do think that I need a slightly revamped team here and so here we go.
Let me make it clear that these are the kind of help im looking for:
-Keep Kyogre in the team in someway (any set tbh)
- Feel free to change anything you want
- This team used to be a balance between stall and offense – I wouldn’t mind one making the team lean towards either one of those... but tbh Wobuffet, despite doing well, doesn’t really fit tbh...
But anywayz, what can be done and thats why I want this team to be changed. FYI, this will defo be used for Shoddy and probably for Wifi too.... if i can find some good battlers easily. Thanks.
Anwayz, tbh, just suggest anything and quoting from my post helps too. Also if there is a change to a set, then doing what I have done – stating the nature etc. evs. Of pokes would help – although their sprite doesn’t necessaryily have to be included. Thanks : )
On to what is now an ' epically failing' team :( :( :(
Shedinja@ Focus Sash
Ability: Wonderguard
Jolly Nature
252Att/252Speed
Moves:
Protect
Will-O-Wisp
Shadow Sneak
X-Scissor
This may not look like the best of leads, but it does the job more often than not. With the increased use of Stealth Rock in Ubers, its longetivity remains doubtful. However, it works well. Most leads anticipate a switch or use spikes for example etc. – trying to overpredict. Protect is useful for scouting out what super effective moves the opponent has as well as status effects.
Will-O-Wisp is there to cripple the ever present Scizor and slow walls etc. Shadow Sneak is there for obvious reasons, priority and lets me attack the Deoxys-A/S/Normal forms. X-Scissor complements sneak well as with the ever present psychics, and shedinja’s not too bad speed, it helps in some situations.
Overall, this can work as much as it can fail and I’m not too sure about keeping it or not.
Kyogre@ Choice Scarf
Ability: Drizzle
Modest Nature
252SpAtt/252Speed/6HP
Moves:
Water Spout
Thunder
Surf
Ice Beam
Standard CS Kyogre. It functions well taking out many threats etc. Rain boosts its water moves as we all know and the coverage it gives it fairly good. Dialga, Palkia etc. can be annoying seeing as im locked into one move, hence prediction is key. I would like to keep this in the team – not necessarily the scarf set, but feel free to tinker with it.
Giratina@Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
Bold Nature
248HP/248Def/14Speed
Moves:
Rest
Sleep Talk
Will-O-Wisp
Dragon Pulse
Standard Giratina wall set. Generally does its function although im considering putting some ev’s into special defence as it doesn’t take them too well. Also, since Ubers is more specially based than physically based, it doesn’t do too well against the likes of Dialga/Palkia/Kyogre/Deoxys. This takes physical attacks really well obviously and is a nice fodder for sleep or burn etc. as rest can heal it all off. Generally I switch this into Darkrai’s anticipating dark void however once i am asleep – im left open to nasty plots which can easily bring my team down.
Dialga @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
Modest Nature
252HP/140SpAtt/116SpDef
Moves:
Thunder Wave
Stealth Rock
Dragon Pulse
Flamethrower
This works well and gives me an easy check against scizors that are either CB’d or do not carry Superpower. T-wave lets me take care of fast pokemon which can enable Palkia etc. to sweep effectively. Rocks are there as it always helps – no evidence required. Dragon Pulse is there for STAB and to finish off anything that is low on health and paralysed. Overall, this works very well for me and is one of my favourite guys on this team.
Palkia @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
Hasty Nature
Evs: 212Att/252Speed/40SpAtt
Moves:
Spacial Rend
Aura sphere
Aqua Tail
Outrage
This Palkia provided it outspeeds other pokemon is an immense threat. It packs a punch and is a formidable stallbreaker since it is mixed. Outrage is able to 2HKO Kyogre and Aqau Tail can OHKO Blissey in rain –another plus point. Spacial Rend is there for a STAB attack where you do not wish to spend the next 2/3 turns in battle. Aura Sphere is there for Steels and those pesky Dialgas which can ruin a sweep and will always hit. I’m not sure if this set should stay as it is, but i’ll leave that up to you.
Wobbuffet @ Leftovers
Ability: Shadow Tag
Calm Nature
Evs:28HP/228Def/252SpDef
Moves:
Encore
Safeguard
Mirror Coat
Counter
Standard Wob. With encore, it eases prediction slightly and enables me to get the upper hand. Safeguard is useful to set up and protect the team from status before bringing in a sweeper on the turn they status with safeguard up. Counter and Mirror Coat will bounce back any attacks with a lot of damage and helps with encore. Overall, it works well, but I do not feel it fits in well with the rest of the team. Any changes or improvements?
And yes. There is the team. As I have said before, it was doing great before my break, but I guess that just like fashion, things move on and you have to catch up which is exactly what i am aiming to do. So I look forward to plenty of criticism and hope you all have some great ideas for me, no matter how drastic. Thanks.
XxBlazexX - Thank you for reading :)
P.S: Threat list coming soon. Not sure yet if i should make it now or once the team is revamped a bit. Plz help my team :) Thanks again :)
