[SET COMMENTS]
Tapu Lele’s decent special bulk, in tandem with an Assault Vest, allows it to sponge incoming special attacks and respond with devastating force. Focus Blast can easily dispose of Heatran and Magnezone while also dealing the most damage to Melmetal and Mega Tyranitar. Alternatively, Nature’s Madness can wear down a variety of targets, such as the aforementioned Heatran and Melmetal, while also crippling Pokemon like Victini, Chansey, Corviknight, and Gliscor. Hidden Power Fire lets Tapu Lele significantly damage Mega Scizor, as well as beat Ferrothorn without relying on Focus Blast’s shaky accuracy. 216 Speed EVs outpace Timid Heatran and the HP EVs avoid the 3HKO from Chansey's Seismic Toss. Assault Vest lets Tapu Lele tank hits from the like of Heatran, Clefable, Tapu Koko, Slowbro, and Greninja.

Assault Vest Tapu Lele is a great fit on offensive teams that need a special sponge that doesn’t give upmomentum. While it’s capable of breaking through them on its own, this set appreciates Pokemon who can break Steel-types, so Heatran, Garchomp, Kyurem, and Mega Lopunny are ideal teammates. The former two are also solid Stealth Rock setters, which can aid Tapu Lele in breaking down an opposing team. Tapu Lele is physically frail, and thus checks to various physical attackers like Rocky Helmet Garchomp and Landorus-T are excellent teammates. U-turn and Volt Switch users like Rotom-W, Zapdos, and Landorus-T can bring Tapu Lele in unscathed while also chipping the opposing team into the range of its attacks. Late-game cleaners such as Volcarona and Choice Scarf Kartana appreciate Tapu Lele crippling walls like Corviknight and Toxapex so they can sweep more easily. Hawlucha deserves special mention, using Terrain and a Psychic Seed to trigger Unburden, and it can defeat the Steel-types that annoy Tapu Lele, such as Heatran and Corviknight.

Tapu Lele’s decent special bulk, in tandem with an Assault Vest, make it enable it to become a decent, albeit unreliable, pivot sponge into special attacks that can respond with devastating moves of its own. Focus Blast can easily dispose of Heatran and Magnezone, while also dealing the most damage to Melmetal and Mega Tyranitar. It should be careful of these opponents however, as whilst Tapu Lele can check these Pokemon well, it cannot switch in to any of their attacks without taking residual damage. Alternatively, Nature’s Madness can wear down a variety of targets upon switch in, such as the aforementioned Heatran, Chansey and Melmetal, while also crippling Pokemon like Victini, Corviknight, and Gliscor. Hidden Power Fire lets Tapu Lele rip through allows Tapu Lele to majorly damage Mega Scizor and Ferrothorn without relying on Focus Blast’s shaky accuracy as well as it's lacking damage output onto Scizor, however it should be weary of Specially Defensive Ferrothorn's Knock Off. 216 Speed EVs outpace Timid Heatran, while the HP EVs let Tapu Lele defeat Chansey more effectively. An Assault Vest lets Tapu Lele tank hits from the like of Heatran, Clefable, Tapu Koko, Slowbro, and Greninja much better.

Assault Vest Tapu Lele is a great fit for offensive teams who need a special pivot sponge that doesn’t cause them to lose momentum. While it’s capable of breaking through them on its own, this set appreciates Pokemon who can break Counter Steel-types, so Heatran, Mega Lopunny, Mega Mawile, Kyurem, Garchomp and Landorus-T Weavile are ideal teammates. The former is also a solid Stealth Rock setter, which can aid Tapu Lele in breaking down an opposing team. Tapu Lele is physically frail, and thus checks to various physical attackers like Rocky Helmet Garchomp and Landorus-T are excellent teammates. U-turn and Volt Switch users like Rotom-W, Zapdos, and the aforementioned Landorus-T can bring Tapu Lele in unscathed, while also chipping the opposing team into the range of its attacks. Hawlucha deserves special mention, using the terrain to trigger Unburden, and it can defeat the Steel-types that annoy Tapu Lele such as Heatran and Ferrothorn Corviknight, after chip.

Tapu Lele’s decent special bulk, in tandem with an Assault Vest, enables it to become a short-term sponge into special attacks that can respond with devastating moves of its own. Alternatively, Nature’s Madness can wear down a variety of targets, such as the aforementioned Heatran and Melmetal, while also crippling Pokwmon like Victini, Chansey, Corviknight, and Gliscor. Hidden Power Fire lets Tapu Lele majorly damage Mega Scizor and Ferrothorn without relying on Focus Blast’s shaky accuracy shld prolly split these into 2 parts of the sentence, smtg like hp fire lets lele break through mzor and heavily damage ferrothorn w/o relying on fb’s bad accuracy , though it should be wary of Ferrothorn’s Knock Off. a bit random i dunno why this is here 216 Speed EVs outpace Timid Heatran, while the HP EVs let Tapu Lele defeat Chansey more effectively shld prolly specifiy here exactly what they do, make stoss always a 3hko iirc. An Assault Vest lets Tapu Lele tank hits from the like of Heatran, Clefable, Tapu Koko, Slowbro, and Greninja much better.
