Hello people, it's me, 1LDK, with a new team, I have been cooking this one since World Cup Quallys, so I think it's high time I share this one. I guess I can post a little bit about the idea behind it here in the introduction. In my opinion, sun is potential playstyle in SV OU, there are millions and millions of options, yet there's only 2 popular variants, 5 special attackers sun, and 4 weak to fairy sun, which is not really fun, so I decided to invest in something that can beat fairies and dragonite, but also checking a few treats here and there, and that's how I came up with this beauty. This is also a great time because Summer hasn't even really started yet, and somehow this heat is vaporizing me. I should be going with Summer Horror Party but im vibing more with Asymmetry for this one, shoutouts to big oil companies for destroying the planet in order to get bigger profits, I'm sure Satan is gonna make a space in hell for all that money you have.
This team has 2 editions, the original one, and the edits Ghoulish Champ made for his OUFL 2 game, so well review both here
1LDK version | Ghoulish Champ version |
Ninetales @ Heat Rock Ability: Drought Tera Type: Grass EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe Timid Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Weather Ball - Encore - Healing Wish - Will-O-Wisp | Ninetales @ Heat Rock Ability: Drought Tera Type: Ghost EVs: 16 HP / 252 SpA / 240 Spe Timid Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Overheat - Will-O-Wisp - Encore - Healing Wish |
Ninetales sun setter, not a lot to say here, I went with the standard set. The edit has Overheat for emergency get off my dick situations, and to not be too uncomfortable in case the weather runs out or the winds of change are not in your favor. You also have tera ghost to weave Espeed from dnite and BP from Zama, which lets you get a free burn (not counting Will-O-Miss). We have no idea what 16 HP this man just stole it from Vert, filthy freeloader.
Great Tusk @ Rocky Helmet / Eject Pack
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Headlong Rush
- Ice Spinner
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock
This is essentially the same tusk, just the difference being the item, go with Rocky Helmet if you value chip, go with Eject Pack if you want the most amount of momentum possible, Tera Steel for the usual bumasses like Rillabum, Fraudnadus-therian and Kyurem
Walking Wake @ Choice Specs
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Water / Poison
EVs: 12 HP / 244 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hydro Steam
- Draco Meteor
- Flamethrower
- Flip Turn
Again, just standard Walking Wake here, you can use water if you just wanna click funny move, but if you're too scared of Iron Valiant or other fairies, tera poison to take a hit and keep trading might be your thing. With Kingambit and Moltres, I went with speed boosting wake to give some extra control so that lilligant and tusk don't get too overwhelmed
Lilligant-Hisui (F) @ Life Orb Ability: Chlorophyll Tera Type: Fire EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Adamant Nature - Swords Dance - Petal Blizzard - Triple Axel - Encore | Lilligant-Hisui @ Expert Belt Ability: Chlorophyll Tera Type: Fire EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Adamant Nature - Swords Dance - Solar Blade - Triple Axel - Tera Blast |
This is the other pokemon on the team with high creative differences. My version has more of a "get off me" vibe, while also being more oriented towards cleaning and antioffense, with Encore to double stop things alongside Ninetales, Life Orb for instant damage and tera fire to potentially set on fire types or Will-O-Wisp bullshit, my final touch is Petal Blizzard, which is 90 base power (same as Leaf Blade) but does not make contact, meaning you are unafraid of contact hax, which I value more than the power of Solar Blade. Ghoulish Champ opted to make it a full-time sweeper with Expert Belt to make use of the decent coverage of Grass, Ice and Fire. Solar Blade can potentially run out of juice with juice, but there's just enough momentum to potentially make a quick pivot.

Moltres @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Flame Body
Tera Type: Ground
EVs: 244 HP / 252 SpA / 12 Spe
Modest Nature
- Flamethrower
- Scorching Sands
- Roost
- U-turn
The team's Ace, offensive Moltres, with enough speed to hit 219, and enough HP to take on just about everything for just enough, Moltres can even survive a Kowtow Cleave from Last Man Standing boosted Kingambit and OHKO with Flamethrower, moltres is a trading machine, with just flamethrower under sun, you 2hko oger-w, you ohko tusk, 2hko Iron Press zama, and a lot of surprising rolls, the meat and potatoes here come in the form of Scorching Sands, with no sun, you can 2hko Raging Bolt with 1 no tera sands into 1 tera ground sands, BUT, if you're in sun, with a bit of luck in the roll, you 2hko Raging Bolt with 1 flamethrower and then 1 tera scorching sands, not even counting rocks btw. This is also amazing to stand on business against Zapdos, and you can even force tera water on garg without putting Walking Wake in danger, which then becomes lilli food, and if you don't like that idea, you also have kingambit endgame. The best part is, Flamethrower has a 10% of burning, Scorching Sands has a 30% chance to burn opponents, and Flame Body has another 30% chance to burn, so even tho you don't have Will-O-Wisp, you actually do manage to roll a good amount of burnings on a game to game basis. Do not ask me about the math, I'm genuinely the dumbest human in this planet

Kingambit @ Leftovers
Ability: Supreme Overlord
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Sucker Punch
- Kowtow Cleave
- Low Kick
Last but not least, Kingambit endgame, since Moltres and potentially lilligant can deal with most of the fairys, Kingambit can have Low Kick to better roll vs Garganacl and enemy kingambit, especially if you decided to choose Eject Pack Tusk and or Encoreless lilligant-Hisui, bring this with Moltres or Walking Wake, idk, its Kingambit at this point in the gen, unless you just got started in this tier, you should know by now how this fucking mon works
Checks and Counters:
Lure it with Moltres, Tusk can also do
Moltres, Tusk can also do, be wary of tera blast tho
you should be able to pressure it well with Kingambit, this will force the kingambit check in, use this to double or get some chip in
Moltres, if you suspect thunderbolt, tera ground its ass, if you can't affort tera, you can take a +1 Thunderbolt and deal 55% - 64% with Flamethrower under no sun against a +1 spedef val. Lilligant Hisui outspeeds under sun and can 2hko with petal blizzard or OHKO with tblast fire
force tera with moltres, to preserve walking wake's health, then, depending on the tera, act
pray to God Moltres burns everything and robs the game
get yourself good positioning with lilligant, both grass moves are straight OHKO against offensive variants, and only Max HP Max defense bold should survive Petal Blizzard, and that's still an if considering it's an 18% chance to kill
