Hi everyone, welcome to my 3rd RMT, for those of you who don't know me (thats probably everyone) I'm not a new player, and have been playing competitve since gen 3.
This team has been the most fun and successful team I have ever built, and i have to make a shout out to Deviant_Fallacy for helping me build this team a few weeks back, its been awesome and we should build another team soon!
Although I had some help, and I pretty much ripped it apart and remade so much of it to fit my own unique play style, this team can only get better as I work out the kinks more and more. Lets go into the RMT.
A side note of the process:
Politoed (F) @leftovers - Drizzle
Bold - 248 Hp, 200 def, 60 Spdef
Perish Song
Toxic
Scald
Rain Dance
This Toed is the best toed I've used. Ive tested scarftoed and specs, and while each of them had their own merits and niches the purpose of this toed is filled to a "T" with this set. I run scald for a stab move, and the burn hax is always a blessing. Perish song is amazing, breaking up Baton pass teams and just giving everything a time limit to switch. Toxic goes nicely with Perish song and helps wear down some important mons. Rain Dance might seem a bit odd , but it really allows me to put pressure on Ninetails and Ttar by using it when they switch in making them come back for one more round of hazards damage and or taking a stab rain boosted scald to the face. This is my Centerman of the team and his rain is very helpful for my main attackers to put in work for me.
Gliscor (M) @ Toxic Orb - Poison heal
Impish -252 hp, 220 speed, 36 def
Substitute
Toxic
Protect
EarthQuake
Toxic stall gliscor is amazing, it can stall out literally more than half the OU metagame, and it makes a great terrakion switch in.I run enough speed to outspeed adamant lucario and timid trans. The move set is simple and doesn't really need any explaining but I will say this, Gliscor has saved me so many times, and can really be devastating if he gets behind a sub. His typing is also a blessing for this team , being immune to thunderbolts and voltswitches is a godsend for this team , along with a beauty ground immunity. He brings all the immunites this team could ask for covering both of my sweepers perfectly. Love it so much.
Ferrothorn (M) @ Leftovers -Iron Barbs
Relaxed - 252 hp, 168 spdef ,84 def, 4atk - 0Speed IV
Twave
Stealth Rock
Spikes
GyroBall
If anything on my team would be the "glue" i supose it'd be this guy. It does so much for me, spikes and Stealth rock are incredibly easy to set up, and even easier to set up on a paralized foe. I dont care if magnezone traps me, especially if its raining, ill just set up my hazards and die. However IF i feel like conserving Ferro for more important roles i do make a note of avoiding magnezone, usually double switching and baiting it into something it cant take on. Ferro sponges so much hits for this team, walls Rotom-W and helps me deal with Landorus. Ferro completes the stall-ish base of my team with politoed and gliscor, helping them rack up hazard damage , walling big threats and paralizing foes while it goes along. I dont run powerwhip for gastros and Rotoms because i find it pointless when i can just toxicstall out gastro anyday and ferro can just twave rotom, making it set up fodder for rachi later on.
Gyarados (M) @Leftovers - Moxie
Adamant- 56 hp, 252 atk, 202 speed
Substitute
Dragon Dance
Waterfall
Bounce
This has been and will always be my favourite pokemon, what a monster. Just think it came from that shitty magikarp we all hated running into when we walked by those 5 fisherman back in GSC days. Gyarados in the rain is a beast, but add in moxie and we're taking beast into a whole new level. Sub and DD are obvious and really make the set what it is, dodging volt switches and setting up on countless mons, Waterfall is my obligatory STAB and main attack, and after a DD or two in the rain its killing everything that it can hit. Bounce is a secondary stab and more of a last resort or " if i have to use it" move. It doesnt reallty provide the coverage you would want but i find it way better than Stone miss, or earthquake. It also does give me a nice way to check sun teams, as alot of chloro sweepers dont like taking flying moves, and this KOS celebi, virizion, breloom and alot of other popular rain threats. I wouldnt change this mon for anything.
Jirachi @leftovers - Serene Grace
Timid- 252 hp, 82 def,176 speed
Thunder
Calm Mind
Substitute
Water Pulse
Well this is your standard rain rachi, i run the Evs i do for 300 speed, and the rest just goes into physical bulk, as rachi takes alot of physical abuse by the end of the match. 252 hp lets me make 101 HP subs and set up on chansey, blissey or anything thats gonna attempt to Stoss my subs. Rachi is one of the most annoying pokemon to face because of its "hax" and seriously i can thank this mon for winning battles on hax alone. Thunder and water pulse are both boosted in rain, thunders accuracy is perfect and waterpulse goes from 60BP to 90BP. The added effects of both are amazzing aswell, as rachi spreads status so well. Rachi does so much for this team respectively, effectively removing things like Starmie, Skarmory, Ferrothorn, Reuniclus and more, so many mons who would typically be a pain in the ass rachi just takes care of them for me.
Gengar (F) @Black sludge - Levitate
Timid - 252 speed, 252 Spatk
Shadow Ball
Substitute
Focus Blast
Mimic
So i figured if I'm going to waste my time setting up hazards, i might aswell have a spin blocker. Gengar is that spin blocker, and brings some nice immunities to the table. Fighting and ground immunity along with toxic immunty is amazing. Gengar's set is something I'm proud to call my own. Abuse rain with Thunder, Shadow ball for stab and Focus Blast for coverage and hitting those Ttars who feel like trapping me. Mimic is the kicker, however stupid or lame you might THINK mimic is, and yes think, its amazing on gengar. Gengar checks blissey and more often then not I'm learning Wish and passing it off. have you ever seen a gengar set up spikes? or rapid spin? I have. This Gengar is incredible and brings so much versatility to the backend of my team. I can go on and on about the things you can learn with mimic and abuse, but on a final note, Imagine gliscor's out against lando, the obvious HP ice is coming, so you take the hit with gengar, mimic and KO lando. It happens. just something to think over.
I ask everyone who took the time to read it, to please don't suggest i remove rachi or gyarados. They were the foundation of this team. Also please don't fix what is not broken, Constructive criticism is what i came here for, so please don't hesitate to show me my flaws. - The threats to this team are few and far between, nothing i haven't been able to play around. I encourage all of you to play test this team
And let me know what you think below :)

A side note of the process:
This team was built and rebuilt like an NHL team, as I'm a huge fan of hockey and I wanted to take a familiar aproach to making a team I decided I would "draft" mons and have set jobs for them to fill, while working as a team. Gyarados and Jirachi were my offensive core, my wingers responsible for the offense and attack of this team, and since they cover eachothers weaknesses very well and can both abuse the rain i added inPolitoed for further support, however not offensive he was the "centerman" of the team, being the lead and facing off as my weather starter and more, the defense was Gliscor and gengar, gliscor being my stay at home gritty defender and Gengar being my more offensive defensemen who would join in on the rush from time to time. The goalie was Ferrothorn, holding the team together ina pinch and providing some much needed essentials.
