Audino is ZU's premier special wall for stall and balance teams thanks to its great bulk and ability in Regenerator that let it consistently handle special attackers such as Rotom and Magneton. Audino can easily take advantage of more passive walls like Miltank, Uxie, and Cramorant to pass a huge Wish while recovering with Regenerator. Protect pairs well with Wish, letting Audino safely take the Wish for itself, and it also lets Audino scout Choice-locked attackers such as Sawk, Froslass, and Clawitzer. Knock Off cripples Audino's checks such as Golbat, Centiskorch, and Skuntank. Thanks to its excellent longevity, Audino can work very well as a cleric with Heal Bell. Toxic is an alternative on teams that don't need Heal Bell or already have a cleric and lets Audino put its checks such as Calm Mind Alcremie, Gurdurr, and Alolan Persian on a timer. Heavy-Duty Boots makes Audino more effective at pivoting repeatedly, allowing it to scout more often and pass Wish more frequently. However, Leftovers lets it avoid the 2HKO from threatening attackers like Choice Specs Basculin, and it is the preferred item on teams with very sturdy entry hazard control.
Audino appreciates being paired with physical walls such as Pyukumuku and Tangela. The former walls setup sweepers like Silvally-Ghost that exploit Audino's passivity, while the latter can form a Regenerator core with Audino. Walls lacking recovery such as Uxie, Garbodor, and Galarian Stunfisk and bulky attackers such as Silvally formes, Rhydon, and Centiskorch enjoy Wish support from Audino drastically improving their longevity. In particular, Silvally-Ground works well with Audino on balance teams, as it can block Volt Switch and prevent Trick and Switcheroo from foes such as Rotom and Manectric, keeping momentum versus them. Pokemon such as Altaria, Uxie, and Cofagrigus check Fighting-types that threaten Audino, while it handles special attackers such as Cryogonal and Rotom formes for them. Pokemon that can take advantage of Taunt users like Alolan Persian and Qwilfish such as Alcremie and Rotom, respectively, make for great partners.

Other Options
=============
Audino can run a physically defensive set, but most physical attackers such as Sawk, Centiskorch, and Silvally-Ghost can break through it regardless. Alternatively, Audino can run 160 EVs in Attack to always break Silvally-Ghost's Substitute with Knock Off; however, investing in Attack severely reduces Audino's bulk and ability to handle special attackers like Basculin and Magneton. Encore is an option that makes Audino less susceptible to being used as setup fodder, but it is prediction-reliant due to Audino's low Speed. Either Thunder Wave or Body Slam can be used to spread paralysis, but Audino prefers foes being inflicted with Toxic poison and cannot take advantage of paralysis that well.
Checks and Counters
===================
**Fighting-type Pokemon and Coverage**: Thanks to their super effective STAB moves, Fighting-types like Poliwrath, Sawk, and Gurdurr can remove Audino. Fighting-type coverage from Cofagrigus and Clawitzer also lets them beat Audino.
**Physical Wallbreakers**: Physical wallbreakers such as Centiskorch, Silvally-Ghost, and Rhydon can break through Audino, although they dislike being crippled by Knock Off and Toxic.
**Stallbreakers**: Due to its extreme passivity and reliance on Toxic to cripple foes, Audino invites in stallbreakers such as Skuntank, Alolan Persian, and Alcremie. They can cripple Audino with Taunt or set up on it to break through it. However, they have to scout for Toxic if they are not immune to it, and some stallbreakers like Golbat do not appreciate losing their items.
