I would not be surprised if this has been discussed before.
In my mind the way this would work is you click the format, it says no teams, but the find battle button still works.
It would simply put you in the game with one of the sample teams for that meta (probably the room sample list but could be any other list).
Benefits: allows players to jump right into an unfamiliar tier without having to go copy paste some teams or make any choices whatsoever. It also allows for one user to try multiple sample teams without committing or clogging their builder. The obvious aim of all this is ladder activity for new/underplayed tiers.
Potential problems:
- That bug where your teams don't show up at first would get you put in a game with a team you didn't want.
- After a ban, samples would have to be updated quickly or have a sub-script that checks legality and rerolls if the team isnt valid.
- idk probably some others
