XY OU AV T-Tar and Friends

Its been a while since I've forayed into the OU metagame, I doubt I still have the ability to create a well balanced team. I left out my nickname. Also how does one add the Pokemon animations?

Team Preview:
T-Tar
Excadrill
Gyarados
Latios
Ferrothorn
Clefable

T-Tar

EV Spread: 252 Attack, 252 HP, 4 Speed
Adamant Nature
Sand Stream
Assault Vest

-Stone Edge

-Earthquake

-Crunch

-Pursuit

I wanted to base this team around an assvest T-Tar as I had done some calcs while I was waiting to go out one night and the stupid amount of bulk under sandstorm caused me to want to use this mon. In terms of team synergy he obvious works well the LO drill, but on top of that it can easily take any fire attack aimed at my main SpD wall in Ferro. It also works well as a check to the ever prevalent Smogon bird. As well as a mild check to mega pinsir as long as they arn't carrying CC and T-Tar is at a decent level of HP. Stone edge also does a soild 45-50 percent to SpD mega Venusaur while only taking 37 max from giga drain. It also works to cover some a latios's weaknesses.

Excadrill

EV Spread: 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 4 HP
Adamant Nature
Sand Rush
Life Orb

-Earthquake

-Rapid Spin

-Iron Head

-Rock Slide

What would a team with T-Tar be without the obligatory drill? I decided on the LO over Air Ballon because I have one flying type and one levitator as well as no walls weak to ground and the extra power is always nice. Rapid spin is helpful for Gyarados and no one likes hazard stacking. Sand Rush is very helpful as T-Tar is a very common poke so sand is relativity common allowing for late game clean up even when my own T-Tar has gone down. Drill is also a check to unboosted Bisharp although LO knock off has a decent chance to OHKO. It can also check mega-pinsir under sand.

Gyarados

EV Spread 104 HP, 236 Attack, 168 Speed
Jolly Nature
Intimidate
Leftovers

-Waterfall

-Bounce

-Dragon Dance

-Substitute

So I wanted an offensive threat that also resisted mach punch and fighting attacks in general and bulky intimidate Gyarados seemed to fit the bill pretty well. With enough bulk to take and set up on most fighting types (most noticeably AV conk) and threaten them out with STAB bounce Gyarados is still quite the threat. Bounce is also a great option on a leftover set as it allows for an extra turn of leftovers recovery. After a boost it also greatly threatens Mega Venusaur. Gyarados also does well to check Keldeo as long as it is still at good HP, however since they all seem to be specs now-a-days it can not take too many switch ins. It is a very good stop to non specs variants. It has enough speed to outspeed base 70 fully invested and over base 110 uninvested. Great for getting a sub up on most would be wil-o-wispers. Full stopped by defensive rotom, however it is a very good stall breaker.

Latios

EV Spread 252 Special Attack, 252 Speed.
Timid Nature
Levitate
Expert Belt

-Draco Meteor

-Psyshock

-Hidden Power Fire

-Roost

This team needed a special attacker very badly, so why not go with my favorite dragon type to fill the spot. With a resistance to fighting, fire, electric, and water it works well with my team which needed some of those resistances. While slightly unorthodox I prefer E-belt to the LO set the reason being is because it is very easy to bluff a choice set with an E-belt. The reason being is that almost all Latios are choiced or LO and when an opponent doesn't see the recoil they will likely assume some sort of choice. I decided to go with HP fire because my team really doesn't have much for Ferro, Scizor and Steels that neutral to ground in general. Also let us not forget the sheer power of a Draco meteor. Roost over defog since my team doesn't really care about hazards outside of Gyarados. Poops all over most Mega Venusaur.

Ferrothorn
EV Spread 252 Special Defense, 252 HP, 4 Attack
Careful Nature
Iron Barbs
Leftovers

-Stealth Rocks

-Power Whip

-Leech Seed

-Thunder Wave

While SpD ferro is a bit strange, it has very good mixed defenses this way allowing it to make full use of its numerous resistances. I also needed a stealth rocker to help deal with mega-pinsir, which is certainly an issue for this team. It can take any one hit form mega-pinsir and neutralize it with t-wave. Nothing too much of note here other then a special wall with good resistances.

Clefable
EV Spread 252 Defense, 252 HP, 4 Special Attack
Bold Nature
Unaware
Leftovers

-Wish

-Protect

-Aromatherapy

-Moonblast

I wanted a defensive mon that took on belly jet azumerill well, resisted most forms of priority and was a cleric. Defensive unaware Clefable in my mind fit the bill pretty well. Sylveon and Florges were also in the running but neither of them provided what I wanted. Clefable takes on most set up sweepers pretty well as well as giving me a good framework to beat other dragons with by forceing my opponent to not go for a dragon move switch into Latios on what ever attack it is outspeed and kill. It works pretty well. Flamethrower might be a better option then protect, but I am unsure about this as passing wishes really helps out T-Tar and Ferro, which don't really have any recovery and I need a reliable form of recovery on clefable since it doesn't have amazing bulk.

From my experience this team defiantly has a bit of trouble with stall outside of Gyarados. Rotom-W can also be an issue if Ferrothorn is to go down. It is also very physically based, which makes burns a problem even with aromatherapy. Boosted Bisharp is also quite scary, Clefable might need flamethrower. I did not run into one used by a skilled opponent while I was testing, so I didn't have too much trouble, but I can see how it could easily go wrong. The lack of priority has also bitten me in the ass a couple of times Thoughts and comments are certainly appreciated!
