Heeeey, hello everyone, im pretty much a low ladder but I´ve been playing with this team witch revolves around of Azumaril and Volcarona as the stars of the show and it has giving me some succes, even tho its a cookie cutter FWG core with a DFS core, I really want to see what the rest thinks :3 (sorry if bad english)
Azumarill @ Choice Band
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Waterfall
- Play Rough
- Superpower
- Aqua Jet
This is my revenge killer/late game cleaner, Azumarril has a chance to live even a Giga Drain of a +1 Timid Volcarona and just destroy it with an Aqua Jet, the Evs spread is just to make it as fast and stong as possible, 199 speed in this meta is not that bad and with a nice bulk from the go, Azumarril is just a crucial important mon in my team
Volcarona @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Quiver Dance
- Psychic
- Fire Blast
- Bug Buzz
Volcarona is here because with the new HDB, Volcarona can just enter in most things, the spread has the same reasoning as Azu's, fast and strong, I chose a timid nature because I think 369 of SpAtk is good enough in this more frail and offensive meta and 329 speed is incredible cause I outspeed max speed Jolly Urshifu without the need of boosting and just destroy it with the apropiate move, Psychic because Toxapex and fighting types and stabs to nuke the rest
Corviknight @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Defog
- Iron Head
- Roost
- U-turn
Now we have the support mons, this is the standard Corviknight set at the moment, its able to put a lot of pressure off with a fairy answer, a wall to Rillaboom shenanigans and with U-turn is pretty much magnezone proof although I still have the correct level of caution when there is one in the opposing team, nothing much to say, Corvi Just does Corvi things
Rillaboom @ Choice Band
Ability: Grassy Surge
EVs: 24 HP / 252 Atk / 232 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Wood Hammer
- Grassy Glide
- Knock Off
- U-turn
Since I dont have wish support and my most important mons have no reliable recovery, Rillaboom helps soo much with his support moves, wood hammer if I need to nuke Zeraora and frail mons, Grassy Glide hits like a truck and its an insta momentum gainer along side U-turn, Knock Off is there because with that at least I can to something to Corviknigt and Rillaboom is not scared of taking residual damage from Ferrothorn, 232 Spe with Jolly hits 290 witch is pretty reasonable and 24 HP is to have better bulk with my recoil from wood hammer + some light breezes
Magearna @ Assault Vest
Ability: Soul-Heart
EVs: 248 HP / 224 SpD / 36 Spe
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Focus Blast
- Flash Cannon
- Draining Kiss
- Volt Switch
AV Magearna is like the best support mon of this team and can even be considered as the glue, with new addition of Draining Kiss, I can run viable recovery with Grassy Terrain + Draining Kiss, the rest of the move are usual Magearna moves to hit things that can cause me problems, the spread is the AV Mag from Gen 7, I can even live a Specs Earth Power from Kyrem and with good natural physical bulk + grassy terrain, Magearna can take hits that It should not be taking in the firts place. I think the spread can be better since the meta is extremly different from last gen, but it works good enough
Kommo-o @ Leftovers
Ability: Bulletproof
EVs: 252 HP / 200 Def / 56 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Dragon Tail
- Drain Punch
- Earthquake
Kommo-o its just the perfect mon to complete the empty spaces, even tho im using the Body Press spread, I think its good enough for a physical tank in a meta where Single Blow Urshifu is killing everything, aside from the obliatory rocks, Dragon Tail lets me mess with set-up Sweepers, Drain Punch seems like an unorthodox choice since i have Rillaboom, but Komoo-o usually comes out when there is no terrain, also is nice to laugh at Bisharp once in a while, also hits EQ targets if for some reason Im in the middle of Grassy Terrain. and EQ is to hit most mons
Now, from what I have played, i have seen some things that can put this team in a difficult spot, I know there are more things that can win against this team, but from what I have seen:
-Zeraora is good mon against this team but with carefull play and good use of Rillaboom, I can play around it
-Even tho Kommo-o has Dragon tail, Set-up sweepers that have a good mashup against it like the new Stored Power Magearna, can just end the game right there
-I dont know if its because I play the mashup wrong, but I have a difficult time dealing with rain, not 100% about this one
-I have encountered 0 Rotom Heat on my way here but just by looking at the team seems pretty much obvious that this thing destroys me, the only thing I can do to counter rotom heat kill it with a Waterfall from Azu or chip it and kill it with Aqua Jet but requieres a lot of carefull play and there is just too much things that can go wrong with that strategy
and here is everything I can tell about this team
thanks to everyone that read all this super long tread <3
