Introduction

Like in every game, B/W has some pokémon that are worth catching, and some that aren't. I'm going to show the factors that contribute for a pokémon to be worth catching or not, and then, list they in tiers.

Factors

Avaliability: if the pokemon comes early or late. Pokémon that come sooner will often have an advantage over those who come later, since the former will contribute more to the team.

Extremely Early = 1st badge and before
Very Early = Between the 1st badge and the 2nd badge
Early = Between the 2nd badge and the 3rd badge
Slightly Early = Between the 3rd badge and the 4th badge
Mid game = Between the 4th badge and the 5th badge
Slightly Late = Between the 5th badge and the 6th badge
Late = Between the 6th badge and the 7th badge
Very late = Between the 7th badge and the 8th badge
Extremely late = After the 8th badge
Useless = After the E4

Utility: HM Slaves or Pokémon that help with minor functions, such as specific Gym battles also help the player significantly, such as using Yanappu to beat the 1st gym or using dokkora to beat the 2nd.

Stats: The power of pokémon is a crucial factor. A pokémon with 115 base attack has more chances of helping beating the game than a pokémon with 85, for instance.

Efficiency: Basically, if a pokémon requires too much training. For instance, one of the reasons why bagon is a low tier pokémon in-game because it's grow rate is really high, meaning that it requires too much grinding.

The list

The tiers are the following:

Is there a reason that the in-game tier list from Uncharted Territory was not used in the formation of this article? It has 300+ posts of input and I think the list presented there is more than comprehensive. If anything, that list should simply be HTMLized and placed on the website.

I personally, heavily disagree with Moguryuu (Drilbur) being in Silver Rank. It's a bit tough to find and raise (though much more common after the Ground gym, at a near-evolution level too), its potential is absolutely gamebreaking. It learns SD/EQ/Rock Slide by levelup (and you can even give it Return for the 4th slot), and easily trained once it gets some decent moves.

As Doryuuzu (Excadrill), it rips apart the remaining gyms with no issues and wipes apart the Elite 4 (except Renbu to an extent). Finally, it aids your team greatly against N (STAB EQ destroys his Dragon; in Pokemon Black Excadrill can set up on Zekrom. Oh, you can also set up SD on Archeos and to an extent, the Ice Cream mon), and sweep (beware of Abagoora's Sturdy, but you can probably survive a hit). Against Geechisu, you can set up on Cofagrigus (Desukaan), and easily 6-0, provided that you've leveled him high enough to outrun Sazandora or at least survive his Fire Blast. He is at least in Gold rank

Mamepato is nowhere near Gold Rank, let alone Silver. Since you don't get Fly around the same time you get Mamepato, it's pretty much useless until then. And then there's Koaruhii, who is actually very easy to find and comes at around the time you get Fly (iirc), while also providing access to Surf, Waterfall, and Dive.

Dageki and Nageki are nowhere near hard to find, they should both be bumped up a tier or two (Dageki is definitely gold or Platinum).
Riguree is also a great pokemon, is bulkier than one might expect, and has great special attack and should be bumped up a tier.
Purtooga is great, it is nowhere near outclassed by Aeken, seeing as it doesn't have weak-kneed. It should be moved up to gold tier (or at least silver).
Bachuru doesn't come that late, and it is definitely in gold tier. Denchura's Compound Eyes Thunder is fantastic.
Choroneko was too frail and not powerful enough, and should definitely not be in gold tier.
Agreeing with the Mamepato bump down.

Also, this is missing a few pokemon. I don't see Meraruba anywhere.

This is a bit nitpicky but can you be consistent with the tier names, either name them Platinum tier, Gold tier, Silver Tier, etc or change them to rank. Also, I agree with Jibaku on Moguryuu and Mamepato. Moguryuu is not that hard to find at least for me it wasn't as I found those patches of moving ground constantly in Electric Rock cave and other areas and Moguryuu was at a reasonably high level at the time. As for mamepato, it has some merit for being the early flying-type, but definitely not Gold Tier. Finally, a quick spell check, Below is misspelled in the Durr Tier as Bellow and Hiyapu is misspelled as well, but you may as well change it to the English name Panpour along with the other chimps, like you;ve done with a few other mons. Also, why did you leave out the legendaries? you can get Kobalon and Virizion slightly late game to late game once you have strength and surf.

Yooterri should be Gold rank. It can get Intimidate which allows it to set up with Cheer Up (it's best boosting move), gets great coverage with Take Down/Vengance/Crunch/Reversal, and gets Take Down early. Vanipeti should not be DURR rank. It';s not hard to change a DS colck for the season, and it has average stats. Bronze fits it. Monmen might be DURR rank, as it comes early, but doesn't do anything useful for your team. It's not powerful or bulky.

I feel Mogurew should be Gold Tier. It is not too hard to find (waiting for 10 minutes in the cave where it is found is worth it).

Churine should be Silver Rank. It has an absolutely horrible movepool, having to rely only on Grass attacks for damage.

I had no problem re-adapting mine for article use. I was waiting for English releases... and to get it out of Uncharted.

There's a lot of things to discuss. First off, I don't really know the names for some of these... pictures would help. Secondly:
I personally, heavily disagree with Moguryuu (Drilbur) being in Silver Rank. It's a bit tough to find and raise (though much more common after the Ground gym, at a near-evolution level too), its potential is absolutely gamebreaking. It learns SD/EQ/Rock Slide by levelup (and you can even give it Return for the 4th slot), and easily trained once it gets some decent moves.
The biggest issue is the following:

- If you get him early, he's very mediocre to bad. STAB Dig isn't available for quite a while (Level 19), and his best attack is... Fury Swipes. Inaccurate too. Claw Sharpen helps a bit, but it doesn't help that his durability is mediocre to bad. He's only "okay" in the Electric gym and horrible in the second and third.
- If you get him later, he's already been absent for... what, 5 Gyms? That's pretty bad to me since that's pretty much past the halfway point. I'll grant you he's great in the other gyms though, and definitely an E4 opponent.

He comes at Level 27 (max) in the Electric Rock cave... I believe Rock Slide is available at this point. If not, it's two levels away. Earthquake is 5. Swords Dance is 8 (11 if it's Excadrill). I really don't see it completely superior to Aaken or Cobalon for example.

Gold Rank is almost ridiculous IMO. Let's see...
Yanapu - Comes extremely early, useful to beat 1st gym, but average stats and average movepool.

Baopu - Comes extremely early, useful to beat 1st gym, average stats.

Hyiapu - Comes extremely early, useful to beat 1st gym, average stats.

Mamepato - Comes very early, useful to learn fly, but bellow average stats and movepool.

Meguroco - Comes early, very good movepool, good stats
The monkeys (which is what I call them I guess) have pretty bland movepools. Their EXP gain is slow as balls too, at a Medium pace (to compare most Top / High Tier Pokemon have Mid-Fast to Fast EXP gain). I might be able to buy Panpour because it has a decent movepool (Surf HM Slave, it can learn Grass Knot and Blizzard), but it's pretty bland up until then. I guess you're hurting on Water-types if it isn't Oshawatt since the only other is Otamaru. I really doubt this guy is anywhere in High.

Mamapeto? Hell your analysis even states that he's bad. Drop him.

I'm guessing the last one is the Cactus... fairly slow with weak defenses. Blech.

Why the hell isn't Cobalon and Birijion up there anyway? If anything they match closer to Dory and Aaken, and you have them in... I don't even know where they are. Yooteri definitely deserves Gold. It keeps well with your team for a while and STAB Take Down comes early.

This list has a lot of flaws, IMO.
