B/W - OU team. It's all about Countering

Okey, I decided to kill some time and create a RMT about my best OU team so far. It is based on countering certain threads, and that could be one reason why this team has done suprisingly well.

Team is based on countering stereotypical threads and relys 80% on my ability to read game and have good predictions. So far that has been succesfull strategy.

Lets meet the Flintstones

ZOROARK_SPRITE_by_ZOMBIE_FETUS.gif

Zoroark @ Focus Sash
Ability: Illusion
EV: 104Att / 152Spatt / 252Spd
Narute: Naive (+Spd, -SpDef)
~ Sucker Punch
~ U-Turn
~ Flamethrower
~ Grass Knot

- Zoroark is here to make illusion mind games. Treated As hitmontop, it is rarely seen as scary opponent that gives me free space to attack. It absorbs psychic attacks from things like Azelf and Deoxys (those are "afraid" of prioritytop). Sucker Punch >> Night daze because of priority (Shanderaa, Espeon, Azelf, Alakazam, Gengar... All being faster than Zoroark makes SP more useful) Grass Knot to kill Swampert, Quaksire and does well against tyranitar (I Use to have Focus Blast but that accurary... >___>. It never hits) flamethrower Obvious coverage.

EspeonNormalSprite.gif

Espeon @ Choice Specs
Ability: Magic Bounce
EV: 4Hp / 252SpAtt / 252 Spd
Nature: Timid (+Spd, -Att)
~ Psychic
~ Shadow Ball
~ Grass Knot
~ Hidden Power (Fighting)

- My Entry Hazard "set upper". barring Scolipede it can come in and kill the most common set uppers easily (Hippowdon, Forretress, Ferrothorn, Swampert, Tyranitar etc.) Also Counters pranxter - pokies easily due to their lack of attacking moves and power. SporeLoom counter also. Basicly hits hard anything that comes on the field (Even Chancey!) If I just predict correctly.

Quagsire.png

Quagsire @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EV: 252Hp / 4Att / 252Def
Nature: Impish (+Def, - SpAtt)
~ Curse
~ Recover
~ Waterfall
~ EQ

- My all around set up counter. It is suprising how few people can play against Quagsire. Scraggy and Conkeldurr always make it up to 6 Bulk Ups before they realize that it doens't mean a grab. Meanwhile I've set upped myself perfectly. Well, that is not mainpoint of quag, but it just suprise me. Quagsire mainreason is to simply counter all set uppers making them either switch or getting stuck with the fact that they cant hurt me. Main counter for common pokies like: Conkeldurr, Gyarados (tauntdos is harder but it can't hurt me any better), Excadrill, Garchomp, DD-Dragonite, DD-Mence, Sgraggy, Reuniclus... etc) Moves are mostly because of stab.

Togekiss @ Life Orb
Ability: Hustle
EV: 252Hp / 252Att / 4SpDef
Nature: Brave (+Att, -Spd)
~ Extremespeed
~ Fire Blast
~ Heal Bell
~ Roost

- Maybe the most suprising pokemon in the metagame according to my experiences. Hustle Stab orbed Ex-Speed does devostating damage and works perfectly as end game sweeping. Fire blast is to coverage common steels (scizor, Forretress, Genesect, Ferrothorn, Skarmory...). Other moves appeared to be rarely needed to I use Heal Bell and Roost to help me survive against stall teams. Roost is perfect to use when their is free turn (like after switch to banded EQ etc.) Accurary causes some fatal drawbacks at times, nut on the other hand: more ofter it helps me to win.

pokemon_tyranitarSprite.gif

Tyranitar @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EV: 160Hp / 96Att / 252SpDef
Nature: Sassy (+SpDef, -Spd)
~ Pursuit
~ Ice Beam
~ Stone Edge
~ Rest

- Two purposes: 1. Giving me weather control against Raind Dance / Sunny Day / Hail teams. 2. To kill Chandelure. Basicly, it revenges if Chandelure trap kills one of my pokies (usually espeon or quagsire). Ice beam is here to suprise common Gliscor Switch in and also to kill Dragons. Special Defensively very Bulky and works as perfect counter also for Lati Twins. Pursuit it the main attack to trap foes, Stone Edge for STAB and Rest to last a bit longer (lack of other recovery moves is a small minus)

hitmontop_avatar_picture_78812.gif

Hitmontop @ Leftovers
Ability: Technician
EV: 252HP / 252Att / 4SpDef
Nature: Adamant (+Att, -SpAtt)
~ Fake Out
~ Mach punch
~ Sucker Punch
~ Bulldoze

- I've noticed that TechniTop is maybe the best pokie that I have ever used in a pokemon games. I used it back in gen 4 almost in all teams I had and same goes still on. Priority is power and now when he got bulldoze... he got even better coverage. Along Quagsire, works as Excadrill counter but mostly it is able to counter anything thanks to stron Priority.

But overally... I feel very good playing with this team. Feel free to say your opinions and suggestions if there is something that could cause some problems for me.

Espeon's Hp fighting won't kill t-tar with sandstorm up 100% of the time. also it can't take out politoed or ninetales, both are specially bulky. With espeon on your team it is obvious what you'll do so no one would really set up until it is taken out. Xatu outclasses Espeon in bulk and support.
Xatu @ leftovers/light clay
Reflect
U-Turn/Night shade
Light screen
Roost
Ev: 252hp, 100def, 158 spec. Def.
Nature: Calm

Why is Zoroak physical =0.
Zoroark @ focus sash (this should be replaced but isn't really helpful against priority)
Nasty Plot
Flamethrower
Dark pusle/Night Daze
Focus Blast

@Tyranitar... Why do you have rest =0? That is 2 turns as set up fodder. Replace rest with EQ.

For Togekiss that's the cleric set so you can do that or alternate with air slash and t-wave and king's rock. Ah all the paraflinch hax going on there lol=p

Quagsire is fine. Conkeldurr or anything should nvr get to +6 =0.

Hitmontop w/o rapid spin? Why? you need spin support if you don't have set-up support.Hitmontop at intimidate will be better. Less damage taken upon coming in to rapid spin. I would look into foresight since it can spin even against ghost types.

Hope this helps=D!

Temporal:

Those sets on Zoroark and Kiss are straight from smogon... that means everyone can predict them -> the sets kill themselves.

Like I said: Zoroark carries SP >> Night Daze because of priority and possibility to kill Gengar, Zam, Chandelure, Deoxys, Azelf, Starmie... etc.

Xatu may be bulkier, but ite type fails badly :/. And without Espeon, I have no SpAttackers.

And where I need R-Spin? Like I said: Priority is the thing that keeps things alive and game on my side.

That Rest on tyranitar has been there for overall stall... EQ could be good replacement =)

i forgot zoroak had 105 base atk lol. then yeah it is okay=p.

Xatu's type gives it a ground immunity which is usually more helpful.

Rest on t-tar just acts as set-up... not rly stall as 1 turn for switch, 1 turn for set up then sweep.only quagsire can answer to that, but if quagsire is out of the way you can't stop set-up sweepers through that means of stall.
