- Flare Blitz / Earthquake
- Morning Sun

[SET COMMENTS]
Gouging Fire is a threatening setup sweeper and cleaner, putting its solid bulk, good typing, and massive Attack stat to good use while also resisting Pixilate Extreme Speed from Pokemon like Hisuian Arcanine and Dragonite after Mega Evolving. Dragon Dance allows Gouging Fire to outspeed most of the metagame after a single boost. Double-Edge has more breaking power and can heavily dent neutral foes like Eternatus, Galarian Slowking, and Arceus-Water, although Body Slam can be use if longevity is preferred, and the paralysis chance helps Gouging Fire's Speed. Flare Blitz hits Magearna and Corviknight, although Earthquake nails Raging Bolt and Raikou more reliably than any of Gouging Fire's other moves. Morning Sun gives Gouging Fire recovery in a pinch against passive walls like Ho-Oh, Galarian Slowking, and Lugia. The given EV spread allows Gouging Fire to survive Surging Strikes from Metagrossite Urshifu-R before Mega Evolving and outpace Iron Boulder after a Dragon Dance. Pinsirite is mandatory to flip matchups on Ground-types like Great Tusk, Arceus-Ground, and Landorus. Gouging Fire is extremely vulnerable to Stealth Rock after Mega Evolving, which makes entry hazard removal from Excadrill and Great Tusk and Sablenite users like Solgaleo, Corviknight, and Mandibuzz appreciated. Blue Orb users like Magearna and Archaludon can easily take any of non-Earthquake Gouging-Fire's attacks, so Ground-types like Landorus, Great Tusk, and Arceus-Ground are beneficial. Dual screens Regieleki is an amazing partner, as it makes set up easier and removes entry hazards via Rapid Spin. Gouging Fire also hates bulky Water- and Rock-types like Arceus-Water, Garganacl, and Toxapex, so Pokemon that can manage them, like Raging Bolt, Galarian Zapdos, and Thundurus, respectively, are beneficial. If Gouging Fire forgoes Flare Blitz however, it cannot break through Levitate variants of Solgaleo, Magearna, and Kingambit, so Pokemon like Raikou, Hisuian Arcanine, and Urshifu-R form great offensive cores with it.

Gouging Fire is a threatening setup sweeper and cleaner, leveraging its solid bulk, good typing, great ability makes it sound like Protosynthesis is good since you haven't mentioned its mega stone yet, and massive attack stat to good use. Gouging Fire also has a niche of resisting Altarianite Extreme Speeds from Pokemon like Hisuian Arcanine, Dragonite, and Regieleki and Dragonite after Mega Evolution You don't want to tank Volt Switches from Eleki repeatedly. Dragon Dance allows Gouging Fire to outspeed most of the metagame after a single boost, while Morning Sun gives Great Tusk Gouging Fire ??? a reliable form of longevity recovery Also mention that it makes setup opportunities easier and that it offsets Double-Edge recoil. Double-Edge can be used for more breaking power and to heavily dent neutral foes like Eternatus, Galarian Slowking, and Arceus-Water, although Body Slam can be use if longevity is preferred, as well as the paralysis chance to help Gouging Fire's speed tier Any notable damage differences between the two other than "heavily denting" foes, I'm looking more for if Double-Edge grants certain KOes that Body Slam doesn't. Flare Blitz is the final attack which threatens common staples like Solgaleo, Corviknight, and non-Blue Orb Magearna. I suck at complex EV spreads You can't reserve a set and then change it just because you don't know what the EVs do; its better to ask what they do in that case instead. Luckily, it brought us attention to the set and it is now updated accordingly. Pinsirite is recommended to flip matchups on Ground-types like Great Tusk, Arceus-Ground, and Excadrill Landorus . Gouging Fire really hates Stealth Rock and can be easily worn down by it as well as move recoil is very susceptible to Stealth Rock after Mega Evolving . Therefore, hazard removal from Excadrill and Great Tusk and Sablenite users like Solagleo Solgaleo, Corviknight, Galarian Slowking and Mandibuzz are recommended. Blue Orb users like Magearna and Archaludon counter Gouging Fire, as they can easily take any of its attacks, so Ground-types like Landorus, Great Tusk, and Arceus-Ground are beneficial. Dual Screens Regieleki is an amazing partner, as it can set up screens for Gouging Fire, making setup easier, and also has the benefit of removing entry hazards via Rapid Spin.

Things to add:
- Mention Earthquake in the moves section
- No mention of either Garganacl or bulky Water-types that trouble Gouging Fire
- There's no mention of teammates that benefit from Gouging Fire's presence
- EVs should be mentioned; they let you survive one Surging Strikes from Meta Urshifu-R pre-mega, with enough speed to outpace meta Boulder at +1

Gouging Fire is a threatening setup sweeper and cleaner, leveraging its solid bulk, good typing, and massive attack stat to good use. Gouging Fire also has a , while also having the niche of resisting Altarianite Pixilate Extreme Speeds from Pokemon like Hisuian Arcanine and Dragonite after Mega Evolution. Dragon Dance allows Gouging Fire to outspeed most of the metagame after a single boost. Double-Edge can be used for more breaking power and to heavily dent neutral foes like Eternatus, Galarian Slowking, and Arceus-Water, although Body Slam can be use if longevity is preferred, as well as the paralysis chance to help Gouging Fire's speed tier. Flare Blitz gives Gouging Fire a Fire-type STAB option Need to mention some targets it hits to show why this is an alternative instead of Earthquake, although Earthquake can be used to hit Toxapex, Garganacl, and non-Pinsirite Hisuian Arcanine Other examples such as Red Orb Electric-types or Eternatus etc. are more applicable here since both Pex & Garg run ground-immune stones 90% of the time. Morning Sun gives Gouging Fire a reliable form of recovery Why is this helpful? Name some situations where the healing is needed. The given EV spread allows Gouging Fire to survive Urshifu-R's Surging Strikes one use of Surging strikes from Metagrossite Urshifu-R pre-Mega Evolution, as well as outpace Metagrossite Iron Boulder after a Dragon Dance. Pinsirite is recommended Recommended is a weird adjective to use here, there's not any other alternatives so just change it to something else more applicable to flip matchups on Ground-types like Great Tusk, Arceus-Ground, and Landorus. Gouging Fire is susceptible to Stealth Rock after Mega Evolving, as well as move recoil damage. Therefore, which makes Made it sound like these teammates help with offsetting recoil, which is not the case hazard removal from Excadrill and Great Tusk and Sablenite users like Solgaleo, Corviknight, and Mandibuzz are recommended appreciated as they can keep hazards off the field. Blue Orb users like Magearna and Archaludon counter non-Earthquake Gouging Fire, as they can easily take any of its attacks, so Ground-types like Landorus, Great Tusk, and Arceus-Ground are beneficial. Dual Screens Regieleki is an amazing partner, as it can set up screens for Gouging Fire, making setup easier, and also has the benefit of removing entry hazards via Rapid Spin. Gouging Fire also hates bulky Water-types like Arceus-Water, as well as Garganacl and Toxapex if Gouging Fire doesn't run Earthquake, so Pokemon that can manage them, like Raging Bolt, Galarian Zapdos, and Great Tusk respectively, are beneficial Once again, both Garg & Pex usually run ground-immune stones, so just remove the earthquake part, you're not breaking thorugh Waterceus with Earthquake regardless. If Gouging Fire forgoes Flare Blitz however, it cannot break through Levitate variants of Solgaleo, Magearna, and Kingambit, so Pokemon like Darkrai Darkrai hard loses to two of your examples, swap for something else, Hisuian Arcanine, and Urshifu-R form a great offensive core with Gouging Fire.

just add on blue orb examples for why eq may be better along with the elecs and etern (+1 dedge slams offetern tho so id probably remove it as a mention) plus fix the bit with waters and garg to say water and rock types, otherwise QC2!

rq levi gambit is kinda eh (if fsr its on the vr keep it mentioned ig) and pex often runs latiasite so you might prefer another example over tusk (relevant for the last section)
