Back To Battlng! [NU RMT]

Ok, so i'm back and i have been struggling to make a team.
So far this team is 4-0. Not undefeated for much longer because
Slowly i am finding things that are hard to take out.
I really need some help becase i'm struggling to findout wats wrong.
Oh and no pictures for it because tey are being silly.
Sorry i wish it could be pretty :p

How i bulit the team.
What i wanted to do was make a team to set up a scarf typhlsion. So the first pokemon is of course typhlosion..

I wanted a lead that could deal damage to most thing, is fast, and powerful. Primeape is my man. Scarf primeape i find is perfect because if i save it with typhlosion then it can sweep before or after him.

Stealth rocks is big in any game. I would also like a rapid spinner to make typlosion have the most power he can have. Along with a good ATK and DEF, Armaldo fit pretty good. Sandslash is ok but i like the typing of Armaldo much better.

i needed a good supporter. Because of its unique typing again and element of surprise exeggutor would be pretty neat. I like it because it also abuses sunny day. which is coming more and more popular. With decent bulk congratz exeggutor you are what i need.

I also wanted a status pokemon. I thought ampharos has static and can learn toxic (duhh). With good enough bulk I can usally get off a toxic on walls. Plus it can statis physical sweepers. With the edition of light screen i kinda like ampharos.

Ok, so i had no idea what to put here. I wanted resistinces and like no weaknesses. So i thought about quagzy. Water absorded helped. but i relized another SP.DEF wallish type thing could help and another physical one too. Gastrodon. I really want to change this so any ideas let me know please.

There you have it...

In Depth Look
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
057.png
Primeape (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Vital Spirit
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- Ice Punch
- Punishment
- U-turn
Ok, since i haven't battled in like 2 months, i watched some youtube.
Primeape, i found could be very useful with my stragtegy,
Wither everythig down, then late game sweep with typhlosion.
Basicly his job is : HIT HARD HIT FAST
181.png
Ampharos (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Static
EVs: 252 HP / 80 SAtk / 176 SDef
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Discharge
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Light Screen
- Toxic
Ampharos helps support typhosion with toxic and lightscreen.
Its bulky enough to do one of the two, witch is fine with me.
It can also do some damage with it's decent sp.atk.
423.png
Gastrodon (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sticky Hold
EVs: 252 HP / 212 Def / 44 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Stockpile
- Recover
- Surf
- Toxic
Filler pokemon. I had no idea what to put in.
saved my ass a couple times whitch is good but i really have no use other then a toxic user.
would like to replace this guy.
103.png
Exeggutor (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 HP / 212 Atk / 44 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Wish
- Sleep Powder
- Seed Bomb
- Explosion
I wanted to try this, with it's unique type and decent bulk it shuts down most pokemon.
I'm think about swiching Seed Bomb with Grass Knot/ Energy Ball and Atk EV's to 80 and SP.ATK to 132. and adamant to Modest.
But in battle when about to die i can wish the Typhlosion gets his HP back witch i good PLus sleep powder Is good.
348.png
Armaldo (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Battle Armor
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Rock Blast
- Stealth Rock
- Rapid Spin
- Knock Off
Rapid spin is big. With rocks up Typlosion loses a lot of power with eruption.
Stealth Rocks helps and knock off too. DOne very wel so far, this always ge away rocks.
i never had a battle with rocks up so far. witch is good because it does it's job.
157.png
Typhlosion (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Blaze
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Eruption
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power [Rock]
- Fire Blast
What a beast thi pokemon is in NU. It tears up everything withs it STAB eruption.
I have HP rock because no one will expect that lol :p
If this fails. i usally have primeape still. He cant do the rest.
PLEASE HELP!
Thanks for your time.
All changes will be in GREEN.
I like green more then red.
Hey, just a quick rate, but I don't think Primeape needs a Jolly Nature, It's already mega fast with a Choice Scarf, so perhaps an Adamant nature will be better for more power, Perhaps Replcae Gastrodn with a quagsire, with the moves, Recover, Encore, Earthquake, and Ice Punch, it works quite well methinks, plus the EVs and nature and stuff can be found on-site, I would tell you them or give you a link, but it is playing up for me just now, so I can't :( You are also trying to do too much with Exeggutor, and also, if you want another bulky water other than Quagsire to replace Gastro, maybe try Mantine, it's got Water Absorb, like Quagsire, and it has an awesome base 140 sp.def too XD. Politoed is another option, it too has Water Absorb, and while he may not have as much special defense as Mantine, he has much better Physical bulk, plus has a higher base Sp.atk.
So yeah, hope i helped,
Bartman101 (why do I nearly always finish my rates like that.... just a habit I suppose, anyway, good luck with your team :)
There are loads of options when it comes to NU. DD whiscash is pretty cool (especially with the absence of tangrowth and leafeon) and has a fantastic movepool so that can probably go over Gastrodon. Exeggutor really should run a special set as its atk is horrible compared to its special attack. Armaldo, maybe toxic over knock off will help as it lets you wear down bulky waters and over tanky pokemon before a powerful sweep from typhlosion. For typhlosion, since its already really fast, sweeping with choice specs maybe an option as the 1.5x boost gets you a lot of OHKOs lategame. Also HP grass should go over HP rock so that you might be able to remove some bulky water and ground types before sweeping. Cool team and gl.
Something that you really need is a poké that can be Water types. Exeggutor is able to switch in on Surf but with its crappy Sp. Def. he can't surive the ever common Ice Beam.
Replacing Gastrodon with something with water absorb and can help you dealing this type of problem. Considering a lot of pokés in NU carry HP Grass I'd consider Mantine instead of Gastrodon/Quagsire:
Mantine @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 Hp/40 Atk/212 Sp.Def
Nature: Calm
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Surf
- Toxic
The rest-talk set was chosen so that you have both a special wall and a status absorber (status moves are very common in the NU tier). Surf for the obvious STAB and because gives you a way to hurt fire types (that might try to stop your Typhlosion sweep), while Toxic was chosen to deal with other bulky pokés like Politoed, Articuno and Lapras.
This Mantine and Ampharos have great synergy and they cover eachother weaknesses very well.
NUs are very fun to play, good luck with this team.
