Battle Spot balance team

This is my current AS team that I'm using for competitive play.Any suggestions, advice, etc is welcome. What do you think of my team?

Landorus-T@Leftovers
Ability:Intimidate
Nature:Impish
EV's: 252 HP/240 Def/8 SpD/8 Spe
-Earthquake
-Stealth Rock
-U Turn
-Knock Off

Landorus T is my set up pokemon.Earthquake is for standard choice for STAB.Stealth Rock provides me entry hazards to cause some residual damage.U Turn provide a safe switch out to counters and dish out some damage.Knock off helps against some strong threats such as Gengar,Latios,Latias, etc.Knock Off can also knock off an item too.

Infernape@Life Orb
Ability:Blaze
Nature:Jolly
EV's: 252 Atk/252 Spe/4 SpD
-Flare Blitz
-Gunk Shot
-Close Combat
-U Turn

Infernape is my physical sweeper.Flare Blitz is for STAB and hit really hard with Life Orb/Blaze ability.Close Combat is also for STAB and good neutral coverage.Gunk Shot is a must to use on any fairy type that might switch in.U Turn is for a safe switch out and dish some damage out meanwhile.

Skarmory@Leftovers/Rocky Helmet
Ability:Sturdy
Nature:Impish
EV's: 252 HP/252 Def/4 SpD
-Brave Bird
-Taunt/Spikes
-Whirlwind
-Roost

Skarmory is my physical wall.Brave Bird is a great STAB and can also check some Mega forms such as Lopunny,Gallade,Pinsir.Roost helps keep Skarmory alive and helps recover from Brave Bird recoil.Whirlwind helps force out anything that may give Skarmory problems as well as cause residual damage.I'm not sure whether to use Taunt or Spikes.Spikes can help provide more residual damage since Whirlwind can force switch in's.Taunt though can help prevent them from setting up entry hazards.Which would be better to use?

Porygon Z@Life Orb
Ability:Adaptability
Nature:Timid
EV's: 252 SpA/ 252 Spe/ 4 SpD
-Tri Attack
-Agility
-Dark Pulse
-Thunderbolt/Ice Beam

Porygon Z is my special sweeper.Tri Attack is STAB and procs his ability Adaptability for a extra damage boost.Agility is for the extra speed speed boost to sweep more effectively.Dark Pulse is to help against any ghost type that may switch in on Tri Attack.Last slot is between Thunderbolt and Ice Beam.Thunderbolt can hit water and flying types hard, but Ice Beam can also take out flying types as well as dragon, grass and ground too.Which would be better for my team?

Tentacruel@Black Sludge
Ability:Liquid Ooze
Nature:Bold
EV's: 240 HP/ 244 Def/ 24 Spe
-Scald
-Toxic Spikes
-Sludge Bomb
-Rapid Spin

Tentacruel is more of my special wall/utility pokemon.Scald is for STAB and occassional burn.Toxic Spikes provides another entry hazard to wear down with poison status.Sludge Bomb helps as a back up fairy check if Venusuar goes down early.Rapid Spin is my choice to spin away enemy entry hazards that may be used.

Venusaur@Venusaurite
Ability:Thick Fat
Nature:Modest
EV's: 232 HP/252 SpA/20 Spe/4SpD
-Sludge Bomb
-Earthquake?
-Giga Drain
-Synthesis

Venusaur is my mega evolution of choice.Sludge Bomb is my STAB and counter to fairy or grass types.Giga Drain helps against water threats such as Azumarill, etc and also provides some healing to stay in longer.Synthesis is my reliable source of healing to keep Venusaur up and in longer.Earthquake was more of a filler move since I wasn't able to get HP Fire.I kept getting HP Dark instead.Any suggestions what to substitute Earthquake with?

hey Dragon_Reborn – not sure this is an other metagames team. are you using this team to play battle spot instead perhaps? this is the other metagames subforum. perhaps this team works for the battle spot format?

if it's a battle spot team, i'd be happy to rate it! but currently, i'm confused as to what format this is.

Is it actually Battle Spot though? Do you go into Battle Spot and choose the Rating Battles? Since you've stated 'Mixed Tier' (there are no tiers in Battle Spot) and the multiple Leftovers users in your team (Battle Spot has item clause) leads me to believe you just battle passersby's on the PSS. If that's the case then you should just say which tier you're highest Pokemon is and focus on that metagame.

Yeah I usually use this team to battle passerby's on PSS.As for tier wise, most of my team are on the lines of OU.There's a few pokemon that are UU though.

I like seeing Tentacruel on here-I was just thinking the other day that it's probably viable in Battle Spot. That said, no Spikes, Toxic or otherwise. You need three layers of Spikes and two of Toxic Spikes to get the full effect-that's five turns for the opponent to set up or attack, and they can just Spin/Defog them away. They also only affect grounded Pokemon, and only ones susceptible to poison in Toxic Spike's case. I'm going to save some time and NOT go into all the reasons I think Spikes suck, especially in Battle Spot. Stealth Rock, on the other hand, is pretty good, even in BSS.

I would use a Modest Nature on Porygon-Z if it's going to be using Agility, and maybe play around with the EV spread to find one that's bulkier, so it can set up more easily, while still preserving speed and power. Rapid Spin is pretty crummy in BSS, but if you're mostly doing 6v6 it makes sense. You probably want Leech Seed or Sleep Powder for your Venusaur. Lastly, I just want to mention that, at level 50, the EVs you use on your Pokemon should not be evenly divisible by 8 if you have an odd IV, this means investing eight EVs in a stat you have an IV of 31 in isn't going to increase the stat at level 50 more than four EVs.

I honestly think that Tentacruel has good potiental and that people underestimate him.I agree on the Toxic Spikes and Spikes deal.As you said it would take 5 turns to set them up and that could hurt me in the long run.Especially with how common Rapid Spin and Defog are now.I did drop Toxic Spikes for Knock Off on Tentacruel.Don't think I really need Toxic Spikes on this team since its better off on Stall teams.I agree Stealth Rock is almost a must on every team.

Ok,Modest nature seems like a good choice since I have Agility to boost its speed.I agree,I think I need to spread my EV's out to make him slightly more bulkier. He does lack in the bulkiness department.Should I continue to use Porygon Z or choose someone else?I could see Sleep Powder or Leech Seed working on Venusaur.

Honestly, most people are gonna say not to use Porygon-Z. I think it's pretty good, but, either way, your team could definitely use a Normal type. You have Normal's fighting weakness covered thrice over, so using a normal type can only help your team.

Yeah I've read up on Porygon-Z and doesn't seem like many people really like him. From what people are saying its mainly due to his lack of speed and bulkiness for a sweeper.Personally I think a double STAB Tri Attack with Adaptability is amazing. Not only is not many pokemon resistant to it,but you also have the chance to burn, freeze or paralyze with it.He's also got a great movepool too.Thunderbolt,Ice Beam,Agility,Nasty Plot, etc.
