Fire Water Grass
Introduction
With the release of DPPt is the start of my "competitive history" against the Battle Tower. It was quite fun playing competitively against the AI even if their strategy's aren't that grand, and the game begins to "cheat" higher up the ladder.

With the release of BW2 I begun to play more competitively for fun. Using pokemon I liked, and even a few I didn't. It took me a while to abandon the "I'm not going to use them because they are legendary." Attempting to play rain (because it was popular and destroyed every team.) I picked up the team for myself, and learned it wasn't for me. I've learned that pokemon isn't just something somebody could netdeck. That there is actual strategy that goes into the game.
Eventually Sandstall became my team for a while. A friend and I have differentiating opinions on residual damage. Residual damage (Stall) is an effective way to win. Now I am looking to challenge myself to use a weatherless team built be competitive, and without a gimmick (of a weather or baton pass win condition).

Before the team was created these guys were on it. They just needed the right team support. The team is supposed to be very simple like a beginners team with a Grass, Water, Fire Core. A Mix Sweeper in form of Mix-ape, and a Physical Sweeper is form of Staraptor. Finding the rest of the team was a semi-difficult task. Fighting to find the right water, and grass type to compliment Infernape. In a sense he and Staraptor are supposed to be the "offensive" core of this team.

Rotom-Wash found his way onto the team because I needed a good Thunderbolter to handy water types. Milotic and Jolteon were not performing up to par like I wanted them to. Through switching of water pokemon Wash proved to be a good trick scarfer with Will-o-Wisp though I'm unsure of which EV set to use on this little guy (or if I should use Starmie or Latios in his place).

I wanted a resist to fighting and a poison type to absorb potential poison spikes. Mostly known as an abuser of droughttales. I placed her on my team because of her speed and defensive's.

The last two pokemon of this team were a complete toss up. It took a while to find the right ones. I still do not think the team is complete. The team lacked a stealth rocker (as I felt Infernape should be all out attacks.) Gengar is a fun little guy returning from HG. He isn't Mischievous Sableye but, still enjoyable to play with.
Bronzong comes out of the need of a Dragon resist, SR, and EQ along with his nice defense.

Ape Escape (Infernape) (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Blaze
EVs: 92 HP / 136 Atk / 28 SAtk / 252 Spd
Hasty Nature
- Close Combat
- Fire Blast
- U-turn
- ThunderPunch
Infernape is my main attacker here. I appreciate him using a life orb over a choice item. because it gives him the option to do CC's (and get him down to blaze range at about the same time.) and then Fire Blast Volcarona's (a 2HKO, 1 HKO with Rocks.) I'm unsure about his moveset. I have Fire Blast over Flare Blitz because I dislike the recoil of Flare Blitz. I'm generally content with Ape Escape. Though I would appreciate any suggestions to moves I could give him. (Not sure about U-turn, EQ, and T-Punch.)

Angry Bird (Staraptor) (F) @ Choice Band
Trait: Reckless
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird
- Close Combat
- Quick Attack
- U-turn
Angry Bird has proved herself time and time again through her mini sweeps killing many pokes with her Brave Birds before dying to recoil. I just send her out and BraveBird everything until she dies or I feel like she needs to be switched. A really strong fighter who has earned my respect.

Moira Brown (Rotom-Wash) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 208 Spd / 252 SAtk / 48 Def
Modest Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Trick
- Will-O-Wisp
- Thunderbolt
Rotom-W is one of those pokemon that I don't know how to spread her EVs around. Being offensive with this thing has worked for me thus far. I enjoy Moira with the Choice Scarf (purchased from Canterbury Commons). I like Rotom with a scarf more than having her eating that roton apple core. I tried using HP-Ice, and Grass however neither of them seened as much utility as Will-o-wisp.

PlntsVsZmbz (Venusaur) (F) @ Black Sludge
Trait: Chlorophyll
EVs: 12 Spd / 248 HP / 240 SDef / 8 SAtk
Modest Nature
IVs: 2 Atk / 30 SAtk / 30 Spd
- Leech Seed
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Substitute
- Sleep Powder
Stolen straight from Smogon suggestions. When I think Subseed I usually think of Cottonee, or Sceptile, but PlantsVsZombies surprised me with how well she did the whole subseeding thing. Often I think of switching the HP to Ice, but if I did that Ferrothorn would completely wall this thing like a Blissey with my Gengar.

Clefables♥ (Gengar) (M) @ Black Sludge
Trait: Levitate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Disable
- Substitute
- Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball
In Gen IV I would have never thought of using this pokemon with a moveset like this. It works quite effectively (until people catch unto this moveset.) I'm used to seeing T-bolt, Psychic, SludgeBomb, Focus Blast Gengars. This thing is awesome. Subs up, they attack I disable / Shadowball / Focus Blast. Walled by Blissey.. They wall each other. She could effectively pp stall this thing if a trainer was patient enough to do that. I like the subs too because it prevents Gengar from getting T-waved.

RememberMe (Bronzong) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SDef
Careful Nature
- Toxic
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Zen Headbutt
Bronzong exist only on my team because I wanted both a psychic and dragon resist. I also lacked a Stealth Rocker. and an EQ. Bronzong's only role is Stealth Rock with a potential second role of taking hits when I want him too (also status infliction which is nice on walls).

I thank you for your time. I am open to suggestions and criticism. I feel like this team is incomplete, but this is the team I created. Could you please playtest my team an suggest improvements (such as a moveset, ev spread or pokemon replacement.)
Thank you guys n' gals in advance ♥
