Hello~ I've decided that a bulky team with power is a great type competitively. In this team, I tried making the Pokémon's survivability a bit longer, while being able to pack a punch. Well, I'm new at this, so I probably have a lot of errors... Anyway, here's my team:
Swampert@Leftovers.
Ability: Torrent.
Nature: Careful.
EV: 252 HP / 216 SpD / 52 Atk.
- Stealth Rock.
- Earthquake.
- Ice Punch.
- Protect.
I like a Swampert for Stealth Rocks lead. He has good bulk, and can beat a lot of the other leads, despite them setting up Stealth Rock. Ice Punch instead of Ice Beam because of horrible SpA. Protect over Roar to protect from Explosions as well.
Jirachi@Leftovers.
Ability: Serene Grace.
Nature: Bold.
EV: 252 HP / 224 Def / 32 Spe.
- Wish.
- Calm Mind.
- Thunderbolt.
- Psychic.
I like using Jirachi because of the overall balance. Mainly I prefer Jirachi over Metagross when it comes to bulk. This is because Metagross is a beast offensively and wouldn't reach top potential when being used for bulk. I like using Jirachi because of Wish, making it a potential supporter for my team. Calm Mind to boost SpA and SpD, helping gain power and even more bulk. Thunderbolt and Psychic are my offenses, both respectably powerful.
Dragonite@Leftovers.
Ability: Inner Focus.
Nature: Adamant.
EV: 252 HP / 52 Atk / 204 Spe.
- Dragon Dance.
- Dragon Claw.
- Earthquake.
- Roost.
Dragonite, with 134 base Atk, all around at least decent stats for bulkiness, and decent speed makes him a pretty dangerous threat after a Dragon Dance or two. Dragon Claw over Outrage, to lengthen his time in the game. Outrage seemed to be a possible option with Lum Berry, but being locked into an attack can spell out disaster. After the Lum Berry, I won't have any item as well. Earthquake used to get the Steels, although Skarmory and Bronzong are dangerous. So I would have to get rid of those.
Gyarados@Life Orb.
Ability: Intimidate.
Nature: Adamant.
EV: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe.
- Dragon Dance.
- Waterfall.
- Earthquake.
- Stone Edge.
Gyarados, a very dangerous sweeper, can do wonders for a team that needs some power. Gyarados may not be 'bulky' but does have at least decent defensive stats. This may seem to delicate for a bulky team, but as long as I can switch in and get a Dragon Dance in, I'm in a great position.
Scizor@Choice Band.
Ability: Technician.
Nature: Adamant.
EV: 240 HP / 252 Atk / 16 Spd.
- Bullet Punch.
- U-Turn.
- Pursuit.
- Superpower.
I needed some instant physical strength, so I decided to use Scizor. Bullet Punch is very powerful on a Scizor and can be used to revenge kill some things. Superpower is used to kill those annoying Blissey or Snorlax and such. Shaymin may replace this, not sure.
Heatran@Choice Scarf.
Ability: Flash Fire.
Nature: Naïve.
EV: 252 SpA / 4 Def / 252 Spe.
- Fire Blast.
- Earth Power.
- Explosion.
- Dragon Pulse.
Another teammate who's EV's do not revolve around bulk. Heatran has great base bulk, tremendous SpA, and decent Speed. Fire Blast is dangerous to a lot. Earth Power for coverage. Explosion to go out with a blast when needed. Dragon Pulse, mainly a filler, but can be used against Dragon types. Heatran is very fast with Choice Scarf, so I don't mind this set, I think its great.
This is my team, I like it from what I see, but I'd like opinions on it. For example, Jirachi, I might change it with another one which is Jolly and uses the Choice Scarf set. I'm also wondering if there are moves which I should replace or anything. Thanks.
