As the title states, this is my first post so let's just launch into it.
My team is an attempt at an in-game OU balanced team that can hopefully handle just about anything that comes its way. Here's the team:
Fairly standard pokemon with a few slightly different sets than what you might be used to but that's kind of the point. Catch people off guard, try something new. When your enemy sees Slowbro, they think they know exactly what your plan is. They don't. Let's get started.
chaRZArd
Charizard @ Charizardite
Blaze -> Tough Claws
Adamant
252 Att, 252 Spe, 4 Def
Dragon Dance
Earthquake
Fire Fang
Dragon Claw
Ever see an animal foam at the mouth? Yeah it's intimidating. But have you ever seen an animal flame at the mouth?
Fearless leader of the Wu-Tang. So the idea with this set obviously is to set up a DDance and sweep. Fire Fang is used over Flare Blitz since I don't pack Roost and don't want the recoil, and Fire Punch is unavailable in-game. Earthquake is just coverage and Dragon Claw is used over Outrage so I'm not locked in if a Fairy or Steel type comes in. I like this thing just because it's a physical sweeper that can't get burned which is awesome. Also it's the Mega for the team, so everything else is here mostly to cover its weaknesses. Which aren't huge, but there are some big ones (like Stealth Rock). Still, with either Fire/Flying typing or Dragon/Fire typing, you can pretty reliably set up one DDance (which is all you need) and attempt to sweep.
Excalibur
Excadrill @ Assault Vest
Moldbreaker
Jolly
252 Att, 252 Spe, 4 SpD
Rapid Spin
Earthquake
Rock Slide
Poison Jab
He's a mouse. With steel claws. And a spiky steel helmet. Because reasons.
ExcaDrillbur... seeing what's happening here? This is my speedy spinner (with slightly different EV's than your average Assault Vest Excadrill set), with the idea of countering Galvantula. EQ takes it down to sash, and a rapid spin will finish it off while getting rid of the sticky web, and assault vest lets me tank the Bug Buzz. Rock Slide in combination with Earthquake give me all the coverage and more of a steel type move, so I forego that STAB in order to grab Poison Jab. (His strongest Steel move in-game is Metal Claw which has a lower base power than Poison Jab even after STAB.) This lets me hit Grass types who otherwise would be an issue, and also lets me hit fairies harder than I'd hit them with Metal Claw. Though they aren't many Grass types in OU tier, I fight a lot of mixed tier battles too so the coverage is necessary. Strange EVs, I know. But not only is he a spinner, he can be used a fast hard physical sweep too. Quick Moldbreaker Earthquakes are incredibly useful.
Artemis
Gardevoir @ Choice Scarf
Trace
Modest
252 SpA, 252 Spe, 4 Def
Moonblast
Psyshock
Aura Sphere
Thunderbolt
Yeah, she died her hair. And don't mention the daddy issues.
The Goddess of the Hunt. No one expects speedy Moonblast. Awesome lead against Greninja and excellent revenge killer, with great coverage moves. Also, token Fairy type and Dragon immunity. Can generally be a prick with Trace too (oh hey do you mind if I borrow your Parental Bond and Focus Blast you twice in the face real quick? Thanks) Also comes in handy when someone brings Darkrai to Battle Spot (no rules or regulations there) since you outspeed with the scarf and Moonblast will OHKO. Really puts a hole in their team since those people rely so heavily on Darkrai. (Obviously this is an OU team so she's not designed around fighting Ubers, all I'm saying is if you throw this team into an unregulated match like on Battle Spot, she'll do well no matter what your opponent brings.)
BatSH!Tcrazy
Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Poison Heal
Impish
244 HP, 28 Def, 236 Spe
Protect
Substitute
Toxic
Earthquake
Shiny Gliscor looks more like Batman. Conversation over.
This thing is probably going to be the biggest pain in your ass. Standard SubToxic set, love it or hate it. Not much to say about it. Personally I love it, as long as I'm faster I know I can stall anything. Taunt is definitely an issue (but Slowbro can take that) as are flying types (or Levitate users, but Excadrill), don't even get me started on Skarmory. Still, comes in handy to cripple things with Toxic damage. I would give this thing Stealth Rock, but it's not available in-game in Gen VI. So, SubToxic set it is.
(Edit: someone recently forfeited a battle even though I was only winning 6-5 because I had a Gliscor behind a sub and I was Toxic-ing everything. Guess he just didn't want to deal with it.)
(Edit: someone faced off with a Weavile against me. Obviously I was scared but I didn't have anything left to switch into. Guess what? The Weavile was running Ice Beam. And this baby lived one with 12 HP left. 4x effective, STAB, coming off Weavile's massive 45 SpA stat? Yeah Gliscor's a monster, he knows.)
Forceps
Crawdaunt @ Focus Sash
Adaptability
Jolly
252 Att, 252 Spe, 4 Def
Swords Dance
Aqua Jet
Crab Hammer
Knock Off
See those little claws on the bottom of its chin (ish) it doesn't ever use? Yeah. Imagine having a set of chin-claws you don't even need to use because you're already too powerful.
I don't like Choice Band on my Crawdaunt and Life Orb is a useless item for such a slow squishy pokemon in my opinion. So I threw a sash on it and made my own set. Mostly a utility. I love this thing mostly because of it's versatility. You can use it a suicide lead or save it until much later when you really need some priority damage. It can be used to land an incredibly strong Adaptability Knock Off on a defensive pokemon, it can lead and set up with Swords Dance, it can even sweep with Aqua Jet. You can throw this thing in at any time and it can be ridiculously useful depending on the situation. Early- or late-game, this thing is a force to be reckoned with and is slowly but steadily becoming one of my favorite pokemon. Focus sash is used to guarantee one Swords Dance and then Aqua Jet weak mons to death or to guarantee a Knock Off. Its speed is so cripplingly low that even at +1 speed from DDance he's still screwed. Hence swords dance. Good revenge killer with Aqua Jet, but countered by anything with faster priority or anything it can't OHKO.
(Edit: someone recently tried to set up and baton pass on me with a SubProtect Scolipede, but managed to let my Crawdaunt get to +6 without breaking the sash and I Aqua Jet-ed his entire team to death... 6-0.)
WallBro
Slowbro @ Leftovers
Oblivious
Bold
252 HP, 248 Def, 8 SpD
Calm Mind
Slack Off
Scald
Ice Beam
Look at that face. Does it look like he cares about your STAB Earthquake? Nope. He doesn't even know where he is right now.
Sort of a strange set, I know. But it works. Damn well. This thing has set up and won me so many matches I can't even begin to tell you. Obviously max HP and as much Def as possible (while grabbing a bit of SpD too) so she (yes mine is a female with "bro" in the nickname because logic is useless against something with an IQ this low) can take physical attacks like a champ and as long as no sneaky grass types or electric types remain, give her one or two Calm Minds and now she's an ever better Special tank as well. Calm mind allows her to sponge absolutely everything as well as destroy with Scald and Ice Beam. No SpA investment needed since she's still primarily a tank not an attacker, but at +2 she still hits damn hard. And if she gets a burn with Scald, it's over. Also I generally don't like Regenerator especially since this thing sets up in people's faces, I don't switch it out. So Oblivious is used to prevent any other sort of dirty tactics (infatuation, taunt) to prevent this baby from setting up and spitting hot (or frozen) water in your face. Also can't Taunt me out of Slack Off recovery so there.
So that's the team. I've been messing around with a Rotom-W instead of Slowbro but I'm in love with Slowbro. Can't wait for Mega Slowbro so that Def (base 180...?) gets crazy and I can run another Calm Mind set to tank everything... Anyway. There are definitely some holes in this team so any feedback would be much appreciated!
