Balanced OU Team!!

Alright, so I battled extremely early into Black and White. But, since then I haven't battled much, so I'm trying to get back in the swing of things. My main problem is team building, so that's why I came here!

So as I was building my team, I wanted a Keldeo and Salamence duo. Both have massive sweeping abilities. Mence on the physical side, and Keldeo on the Special side.

Now, I needed a rapid spinner to keep mence alive if rocks are up. So I decided to go with Forretress. He can also lay down some hazards, so why not?

My team lacks a priority sweeper. I couldn't think of anyone better than a scizor. He can devastate a team soon as threats are out of the way.

My team is a bit fire weak. So I decided to go with Latias. She resists the fire moves, and bring a special side to my team that was missing.

Keldeo will need some help if it wants to sweep. So, I decided to go with T-Tar. He can trap and kill any psychic threats. Also the sand is a nice little bonus.

Finally, all of the movesets!!

Salamence (F) @ Lum Berry
Trait: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Outrage
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast

Mence has always been one of my favorite dragon types. His DD set was viable in gen 4 and hasn't changed much since. But, he does get the moxie ability, which would help my dragon sweep ever better and faster. His Outrage could probably 2ohko any non steel type with one dragon dance. The Fire Blast is to cover any physical walls such as ferrothorn.

Forretress (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock
- Volt Switch
- Gyro Ball

What can I say about forretress? His rapid spin is extremely important to keep my mence alive. His stealth rock will help with a sweep. Volt Switch is to hit any incoming threat and get the heck out. Gyro Ball can do a ton to a spin blocker such as Gengar. He is my physical wall and will help tons.

Tyranitar (F) @ Choice Band
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 180 HP / 252 Atk / 76 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Stone Edge
- Crunch
- Pursuit
- Superpower

Tyranitar makes his first appearance with me in 5th gen. His sand will put some residual damage on foes. He will mainly be used to trap incoming psychic types that threaten my keldeo.

Keldeo @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Justified
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Surf
- Hydro Pump
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Secret Sword

Keldeo is my special sweeper. With the choice scarf, he can out run majority of the meta game and do massive damage. I have surf and hydro pump just in case I must to finish a foe. Hidden Power Ice will destroy incoming Dragons or Flying Types. Plus he is just the cutest OU pokemon ever.

Scizor (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Swarm
EVs: 80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spd
Hardy Nature
- Swords Dance
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower
- Bug Bite

Scizor was popular for 4th gen, and he is popular now. Scizor is my priority sweeper, he is a great revenge killer as well. With his swords dance, he becomes a wrecking ball. He can also take a lot of hits for me which is a nice bonus.

Latias (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 72 HP / 184 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Roost

Latias is just amazing. He brings a much needed special attacker to my team. He takes away some fire issues I've had. His Draco is nothing to mess with, and he can also surprise incoming Scizor's with his hp fire. Roost is there just to keep him alive. As he is an important part of my team.

Hey! Got your pm and now i'm here with a lengthy rate to improve dat mence team. I'll start off by saying that I don't really like DD mence in BW OU and question the viability of anything other than Mixmence or Choice Scarf Mence in OU for a few reasons. Firstly it's not that bulky for a set up and blast sweeper and can be stopped by the sheer amount of priority in OU. Dragonite also does its job better as a DDer thanks to Multiscale for a guaranteed free turn or two of set up and fire punch. What we could do to keep Salamence on this team is change it to a Choice Scarf revenge killer / lategame sweeper and shuffle around a few sets to give you some power back and another form of hazards in spikes. Initially, I'm also pretty concerned about opposing Terrakion and Landorus; you'll be relying on Latias too much and hopefully I can address that and fix it to the point that this weakness is manageable.

Choice Scarf Salamence would give you a lategame sweeper and revenge killer that's more adapt to this metagame than dragon dance salamence. you have the tools in your team to abuse this pokemon and it would give you a more viable win condition lategame while also shoring up a few slots for you to fill and replace. Just use Dragon Claw over Dragon Dance and a Choice Scarf over Lum Berry. Having Choice Scarf Salamence will free Keldeo of its choice scarf. You can use an Expert Belt Keldeo instead which forces a lot of switches and also beats down certain walls that Salamence doesn't enjoy and would otherwise prevent Salamence from sweeping. With Spikes and Stealth Rock (i'll go into more depth later on both the hazards) and Keldeo's ability to switch attacks you should be able to weaken and then sweep late game with Salamence.

Keldeo @ Expert Belt
Trait: Justified
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Secret Sword
- Icy Wind
- Hidden Power [Bug] / [Ghost]

Now I'd like to go in depth about your Terrakion and Sub Jirachi weakness. Currently, the only thing you have that that really check Terrakion and Lucario initially is Latias who is beaten by opposing Tyranitar and otherwise overloaded by some combos of these pokemon. Currently, I don't see your Tyranitar being all that useful on your team aside from Sand which can hamper your salamence more than it helps him. You will have entry hazards and your team Forces quite a bit of switches which should more than make up for residual damage. Latias and Latios don't give your team too much trouble either aside from nothing really being able to tank a Draco Meteor; Keldeo can now 2HKO Latios with Icy Wind + HP [Bug] or [Ghost] and Hidden Power [Bug] does ~90% to Celebi as well. I feel a Landorus-T over Tyranitar would do wonders for your team in checking physical sweepers and most notably Terrakion and Physical Landorus-t. Landorus-t also offers another scouter to give Latias, Keldeo, and Salamence free switch ins and also gives you a Stealth Rock user which allows you to run Spikes on Forretress. This, again, helps your team get their respective 2HKOs and OHKOs on certain pokemon and will allow for an easier late game Scarf Salamence sweep or Keldeo sweep. I will note that you should run 248 HP / 112 Def / 148 Spd with a Jolly Nature to beat Adamant Lucario who runs Ice Punch just in case you get swept by one. I haven't found Ice punch Lucario to be that common and you can probably play around it but to be safe you should run that spread over the standard one i listed below. You lose out on a little defensive bulk against the likes of Life Orb Swords Dance Terrakion but you should still be able to beat it at full health.

Landorus-T @ Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 200 HP / 64 Atk / 244 Def
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- U-turn

Now, I'm mostly concerned about a certain special wall that can handle Special Dragons and Tornadus. I feel a Specially Defensive Jirachi would be good over Scizor. I'm pretty sure the only reason you have Scizor currently is for a priority sweeper which would take on the likes of Terrakion and other sweepers that have gotten out of hand such as: special Landorus or Tornadus. Latias is currently a great check to special landorus as Hidden Power [Ice] is a 2HKO at best and its slower so just watch for an initial u-turn to tyranitar if he uses u-turn. You can usually tell because U-turn Landorus is commonly paired with Choice Scarf Keldeo and not Expert Belt Keldeo. If it does have u-turn then you can pretty easily switch it on Focus Blast or Earth Power and then double switch to something that can handle the Tyranitar i.e. a safe switch like Keldeo who can take a U-turn or Hidden Power [Ice] from Landorus just in case; most sand teams don't run a spinner so tyranitar will eventually die to Spikes and Stealth Rock. Jirachi can also help with this and can spread Paralysis for your team to either ruin some big threats or just flinch hax them to death :P. Jirachi also provides your entire team with Wish support which means Salamence, Keldeo, Forretress, and Landorus-t can constantly be used if you play correctly and pass a wish to them. Overall, I feel Jirachi would benefit your team more if you run Scarf Mence + Defensive Landorus-t.

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 248 HP / 228 SDef / 32 Spd
Careful Nature
- Body Slam
- Iron Head
- Wish
- Protect / U-turn

Now that we've patched up certain big sweeper weakness and spread the weight of the team around a bit more while improving synergy, I feel I can totally steal this team hehe. Good Luck, my friend! I hope you enjoyed my suggestions and will try them out :)
