Hey everyone! I’ve been experimenting with a balanced / pivot-heavy team built around Ogerpon-Wellspring + Dragapult as an offensive core supported by a solid defensive backbone of Corviknight / Ting-Lu / Galarian Slowking. The goal was to blend strong defensive stability with steady momentum through U-turn pivots and Future Sight pressure.
The team’s been performing decently on ladder, but I feel like it can get overwhelmed by certain offensive threats and struggles to maintain momentum at times. I’d love feedback on optimization, Tera choices, or any replacements that might strengthen the structure.
---
Corviknight @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Pressure
Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Impish Nature
Brave Bird
Body Press
U-turn
Roost
My physical wall and hazard deterrent. Corv checks Great Tusk, Kingambit, and Rillaboom while offering consistent pivoting with U-turn. Tera Dragon helps it flip matchups against Fire- and Electric-types and adds a surprise resist vs Water. Rocky Helmet punishes U-turn and contact-heavy attackers like Zamazenta or opposing Tusks.
---
Ogerpon-Wellspring (F) @ Wellspring Mask
Ability: Water Absorb
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
Ivy Cudgel
Knock Off
U-turn
Encore
The offensive pivot and late-game cleaner. Encore helps stop setup attempts from things like Dragonite or Manaphy, while Knock Off provides utility and progress. Tera Water gives her a massive Ivy Cudgel boost and turns some checks into OHKOs. Works excellently with Dragapult to force progress on bulky teams.
---
Ting-Lu @ Leftovers
Ability: Vessel of Ruin
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
Earthquake
Ruination
Spikes
Whirlwind
My main special wall and hazard setter. The Spikes + Future Sight combo with Galarian Slowking applies a lot of pressure. Tera Water helps with Ice and Fairy coverage while maintaining great bulk. Ting-Lu anchors the defensive core and keeps setup sweepers from getting out of hand.
---
Slowking-Galar (M) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 248 HP / 16 SpA / 244 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
Sludge Bomb
Future Sight
Thunder Wave
Chilly Reception
My special pivot and utility mon. Future Sight supports both Ogerpon and Great Tusk by forcing switches, while Thunder Wave helps control faster threats like Iron Valiant and Dragapult. Chilly Reception lets me pivot safely into offensive teammates. Tera Water improves its survivability and general defensive flexibility.
---
Great Tusk @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
Headlong Rush
Ice Spinner
Rapid Spin
Stealth Rock
Hazard removal, offensive presence, and secondary rocker all in one slot. The team relies heavily on Tusk to keep hazards in check. Tera Steel adds key resistances (especially to Fairy and Psychic) and gives Tusk a defensive emergency option. Ice Spinner helps against Gliscor and Dragonite, but Knock Off is always tempting for utility.
---
Dragapult (M) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Clear Body
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
Draco Meteor
Shadow Ball
U-turn
Thunderbolt
My main special attacker and speed control. Specs Shadow Ball hits most of the tier neutrally, and U-turn keeps up the pivot chain with Ogerpon and Corviknight. Tera Ghost gives it a monstrous nuke potential and makes it much harder to switch into late-game. Pairs perfectly with Spikes pressure from Ting-Lu.
---
Team Thoughts / Concerns
Kyurem is tough to deal with long-term, especially Sub sets.
Iron Valiant can be tricky if Corv or Slowking-G is weakened.
Raging Bolt and Manaphy can pressure the core heavily depending on sets.
Might need more offensive power to close out games faster — open to changing Tusk’s or Pult’s set for that.
---
Looking for feedback on:
Better options for handling Kyurem / Iron Valiant.
Potential set or Tera tweaks to strengthen synergy.
Whether this defensive trio still holds up in today’s meta or should pivot toward something faster-paced.
Thanks in advance for any rates or constructive criticism
