ORAS OU Balanced Rain Team mid 1400s

Hello All! This is my first RMT and I hope you all can help give some feedback on my team.

politoed.gif

Politoed @ Damp Rock
Ability: Drizzle
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpD / 8 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Hypnosis
- Encore
- Rest

Politoad is here as the obligatory rain setter and also serves as this teams special defense wall, with scald for STAB damage, hypnosis to potentially shut down slower threats to this team such as garchomp or scizor, encore to punish hazard setters and set-up mons, and rest to survive for as long as possible.

ferrothorn.gif

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 168 Def / 88 SpD
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Leech Seed
- Thunder Wave
- Power Whip

Ferrothorn benefits nicely as a physical tank from the reduced power of fire in the rain, and also serves as a switch in to water types like azumarill this team would otherwise not have. The moveset is fairly standard as the teams hazard setter, with leech seed and rocks to wear the enemy down to allow easier sweeps by ludicolo and swampert, power whip to threaten water types, and thunder wave to ease sweeps outside of rain, although I have switched t-wave for gyro ball on occasion.

swampert-mega.gif

Swampert @ Swampertite
Ability: Damp
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch
- Rain Dance

Swampert is the go to mega for most any rain team, and has the added benefit of looking completely hilarious. The EVs allow it to outspeed choice scarfed landorous in the rain and hit as hard as possible, with waterfall and earthquake for stab and ice punch for coverage. This guy has decent natural bulk, and therefore also carries rain dance for if politoad ever goes down or must be sacked. I have previously ran superpower in the rain dance slot to be able to take on ferrothorn and hit resistances like rotom harder on switch ins, but overall I have found a second rain setter to allow for more consitent results with this team.

ludicolo.gif

Ludicolo @ Life Orb
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Giga Drain
- Ice Beam
- Focus Blast

Perhaps the greatest strength of rain teams are their abundance of silly looking pokemon sprites, as seen here. In any case, ludicolo serves as this teams special attacking sweeper thanks to swift swim and life orb, and is this teams best answer to bulky water types like rotom-wash. With ice beam it is also my best responce to pokemon like landorous or garchomp who would punish the physical attacks from swampert, as well as a strong answer to bulky steel types with focus blast.

bisharp.gif

Bisharp @ Life Orb
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Swords Dance
- Sucker Punch
- Iron Head

Bisharp does gain some minor benefit from fire's reduced power in the rain, but is mostly here to switch into the enemy ferrothorns, skarmorys, and clefables which wall this team and set up a sword dance on them to attempt a sweep. In addition, it serves as one of the teams best switch ins to flying type attacks. It also contains this teams only priority in sucker punch, allowing it to revenge kill faster pokemon like charizard Y when rain is down. Knock off and iron head are for obligatory stab.

tornadus-therian.gif

Tornadus-Therian @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 96 HP / 160 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Hurricane
- Superpower
- Knock Off
- U-turn

Tornadus gains 100% accuracy hurricanes in the rain, and God knows i need that :(. Assault vest and hp investment is added to supplement the lackluster special defensive capabilities of politoad on this team. Hurricane lets it take on pests like keldeo, knock off allows it to remove items like leftovers from bulkier pokemon and 2HKO latios/latias. Superpower lets it take on tyranitar and weaken heatran/ferrothorn. U-turn finally allows it to serve as a pivot, which is crucial in aiding to set up politoad's drizzle.

Overall I feel this teams biggest weakness is a lack of hazard removal, which could be mended by replacing tornadus with defog latios. In addition, ludicolo's weakness out of rain has caused some problems, however I can't think of any replacements which would have its coverage and rain synergy. In addition, this team has little to contest mega lopunny outside of rain. I've had fair success with this team, and have used it to climb this high, however I'd love some feedback to allow me to keep using this team at higher ranks. Thank you!

First, I recommend using Life Orb > Assault Vest on Tornadus-T. Life Orb allows you to hit much much harder and allows you to 6-0 stall if played correctly. Use a 76 Atk / 180 SpA / 252 Spe over your spread.

Also, I recommend Kingdra > Ludicolo. Kingdra is much better than Ludicolo because it hit much harder and also has the dragon stab that can be very useful in OHKO-ing stuff such as Rotom-W. Use Choice Specs with 28 HP / 252 SpA / 228 Spe and a Modest Nature. Scald / Hydro Pump / Draco Meteor / Ice Beam should be some really good coverage.

Finally, I think Bisharp doesn't really fit your team. With Torn-T, Kingdra, and Mega Swampert, you prolly have enough offensive mons. At the same time, your team is pretty weak to Talonflame and Mega Pinsir especially when Mega Swampert is weakened. So, I recommend using Rotom-W > Bisharp. Rotom-W gives you a solid water- and flying- resistance that your team appreciates quite a lot. It also has slow Volt Switches which can be really good in bringing your offensive threats such as Kingdra and Torn-T pretty freely. Use the standard 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD with a Bold Nature and Volt Switch / Hydro Pump / Pain Split / Will-o-Wisp.
