After finishing Omega Ruby, I decided to hop back on PS and create a balanced team to use both on here and in-game. Not much testing has been done so far (only 5 battles), but it is undefeated so far and I felt it was solid enough for a RMT.
Team structure:
Lead/Physical Sweeper/Special Wallbreaker/Physical Wall/Special Wall/Revenge Killer
Team structure:
Lead/Physical Sweeper/Special Wallbreaker/Physical Wall/Special Wall/Revenge Killer
The Squad:
Shuckle(Lead):
Item: Mental Herb
Ability: Sturdy
Nature: Calm
EVs: 248HP/8Def/252SpDef
Moves:
-Sticky Web
-Stealth Rock
-Toxic
-Infestation
I chose Shuckle as my Sticky Web setter because of its bulk, and its access to rocks. Mental Herb allows it to at least set a web before being taunted. Infestation prevents it from being complete taunt bait, and can whittle 'mons down pretty well combined with toxic.
Mega Heracross(Physical Sweeper):
Ability: Guts
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 252Atk/4Def/252 Spe
Moves:
-Close Combat
-Pin Missile
-Rock Blast
-Swords Dance
Mega Heracross functions as the main sweeper on this team. For its ability, I picked Guts over Moxie just in case it receives a status before mega-evolving; and I have Swords Dance if an attack boost is needed. Its three attacks are two STAB moves, and Rock Blast to cover flying types.
Magnezone:
Item: Choice Specs
Ability: Analytic
Nature: Modest
EVs: 4Def/252SpA/252Spe
Moves:
-Volt Switch
-Thunderbolt
-Flash Cannon
-Hidden Power Ice
Magnezone helps Heracross against some of the Fairy/Psychic/Flying types that threaten. Analytic was chosen over Magnet Pull because my team doesn't have many problems with steel types. Volt Switch provides a powerful scouting move, Thunderbolt and Flash Cannon for main stabs, and Hidden Power Ice for Dragons and a KO on a Landorus switch-in.
Salamence(Physical Wall):
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
Nature: Impish
EVs: 248HP/252Def/8SpDef
Moves:
-Dragon Claw
-Fire Blast
-Wish
-Protect
Salamence might seem a bit of an odd choice for a wall, but its synergy with Heatran, along with defensive ev investment and intimidate made it a good fit on this team. Dragon Claw and Fire Blast provide a reliable STAB and an answer to steel types. I chose Wish/Protect over Roost/Filler to provide Salamence a more supportive role.
Heatran(Special Wall):
Item: Leftovers
Nature: Calm
EVs: 248HP/8Def/252SpDef
Moves:
- Lava Plume
- Earth Power
- Toxic
- Protect
Heatran absorbs the attacks from the Fire types that threaten both Heracross and Magnezone. It also tanks the Dragon and Ice attacks directed towards Salamence. Its moveset it pretty standard; Lava Plume for STAB, Earth power for opposing Fire types, and Toxic and Protect for to whittle opposing walls.
Kyurem-B(Revenge Killer):
Item: Choice Scarf
Nature: Naughty
EVs: 252AtK/4SpA/252Spe
Moves:
- Dragon Claw
- Ice Beam
- Fusion Bolt
- Earth Power
For my final slot, I wanted someone an offensive threat towards Flying types and Levitate users unaffected by Sticky Web. With Ice Beam and Fusion Bolt, Kyurem-B can take care of most those threats. Dragon Claw is a reliable STAB attack, and Earth Power can hit Rotom-W and Heatran. Kyurem-B also functions a backup sweeper if I find myself without a web for the rest of the match.
Here's the Importable: Any Suggestions? Help is very appreciated!
