Balanced team my first RMT

So this is my first team I've made that has done alright. It's far from perfect but I like it so far and I'd like to make it better. Here it goes...

Lead (most of the time)

Fire Monkey (Infernape) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Blaze
EVs: 148 Atk / 252 Spd / 108 SAtk
Naive Nature
- U-turn
- Fire Blast
- Stone Edge
- Close Combat

I use this mainly for scouting with u-turn or if i think a threat is going to switch in. I try my best to predict what my opponent switches in, choose moves appropriately and switch to a wall the next turn.

Special Sweeper

Freddy Mercury (Alakazam) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Focus Blast
- Psychic
- Signal Beam
- Hidden Power [Ice]

This set has decent coverage and is usually sent out to revenge kill something I know I'm faster than or saved for a late game sweeping when its threats are removed (hopefully). I'll occasionally switch focus sash for a life orb as the extra 1.3x damage without recoil is really nice but I occasionally find myself being OHKO'd while switching in so its focus sash most of the time.

Mixed Sweeper

Generic Dragon (Salamence) @ Life Orb
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Spd / 196 SAtk / 60 Atk
Naive Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- Outrage
- Earthquake

This slot on my team is really up for debate as I don't find myself using it much and has never really saved me from anything. That could very well be from me not using it properly though. Anyway I don't think this set needs very much explanation. It's mainly for taking out opposing dragon types, steel types and special walls.

Special Wall

Mr. Pringles (Jellicent) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Calm Nature
- Recover
- Scald
- Shadow Ball
- Will-O-Wisp

This is pretty much the standard jellicent set you see. It provides burns for any physical sweeper opposing walls. It's good for walling rain teams and switching in for free heals every so often. I find that after I take out rain team threats (Starmie with thunder and Ferrothorn) it can generally wall the rest of the team without too much trouble as long as it's not poisoned.

Physical Wall

Iron Pinecone (Ferrothorn) @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 Atk
Impish Nature
- Leech Seed
- Power Whip
- Protect
- Stealth Rock

This is probably my favourite pokemon on the team as its probably the most annoying. it can take a hit fairly well, set up leech seeds and then recover most of the damage it took by using protect on the next hit. If I think the opposing pokemon is switching out I can set up stealth rocks or have a leech seed ready for the switch in. Power whip is mostly there for hitting Politoed's who have a hard time killing this and anything frail or damaged that switches in.

Physical Tank

Metal Bug (Scizor) @ Expert Belt
Trait: Technician
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Bug Bite
- Bullet Punch
- Pursuit
- Superpower

This is mainly used late game after any threats are cleared out. It's also used on opposing gengar, alakazams, starmies ect. pretty much anything weak to pursuit. Bullet punch for priority stab + technician boost. Bug bite is for anything weak to bug as it usually OHKO's it and super power for blissey, hydreigon, steel types and occasionally Heatran if Salamence isn't able to battle.

Sooooo that's it. I've had some decent success (by my standards...) with this team but it's certainly not perfect. Any constructive criticism is appreciated. And please suggest some replacements for Salamence.

Noticed threats:
-Volcarona (usually taken care of by Infernape as a revenge kill though)
-occasionally Heatran
-I'm not very good at picking out threats. Feel free to add more!

anyway hopefully there's some good suggestions in the comments and I look forward to reading them :)

It looks pretty thorough.
When "somewhat" big threat could be a gengar if Jellicent is down. He can outspeed KO Alakazam and do some damage to infernape. He can focus blast ferrothorn for some major damage(as well as set up on him}, and can come in on Salamence's EQ with no fear. He can use destiny bond to set up as a suicidal wallbreaker if need be.

Choice scarf Chandelure could be a problem if infernape is gone. Infernape is the only pokemon on your team that outspeeds it, and Infernape could KO him with Edge, but would get crushed if itmissed, and chandelure had psychic. He shadow ball/energy ball KO's jellicent, and fire blast/flamethrower KO's Ferrothorn/scizor. Shadow ball in alakazam's face.

Since you have a special sweeper, why not have a physical sweeper rather than a mixed one? Infernape covers the fire blast portion. You have two major weaknesses: Fire(Ferrothorn, scizor) and ghost (Alakazam, jellicent, and infernape{he can't touch them})

You need some way to use Edgequake to take out fire types. Maybe try you hand at using terrakion in place of salamence? Terrakion is faster than salamence, and can use STAB stone edge and EQ. He has many options and movesets, and you can easily bluff the opponent. The only problem is that he is weak to the omnipresent fighting type. Alakazam has got that, though.

Terrakion @ Choice band
Nature: Jolly
EV: 252Atk/252 spd/4 other
Earthquake
Stone edge
X-scissor
Close combat

If you insist on using a dragon, Try dragonite. You can use Extremespeed to revenge kill any pokemon, and use dragon dance to boost your stats. Multiscale pretty much guarantees you get off at least one Ddance. You can use outrage or dragon claw. You could teach it waterfall to kill fire types.
Dragonite@ Leftovers
Nature:adamant
Ability: MULTISCALE
Ev:252Atk/252 spd/4 other
Dragon dance
Outrage/dragon claw
earthquake/extremespeed
Extremespeed/waterfall

You don't have to listen. They're just ideas.

thanks :)

Heh, if I didn't want to listen, I wouldn't have posted it ;)

I've already tried Dragonite but I didn't like it all that much so I'll try Terrakion. The main reason I was using Salamence is because his typing allowed him to switch in to a lot of things without taking too much damage and then predict the switch in and do significant damage.

Really, all you need is a pokemon who is fast/ capable of being fast who ALSO has access to Earthquake, rock slide, stone edge, or any move that hits the fire type.
Also try:
Tyranitar
Haxorus
Cloyster(Shell smash/Rock blast/razor shell)

Smart. It can't be blocked by sub too so that's a bonus.

What move should I sacrifice for taunt? And should the other move be replaced with something that has better coverage?
