Well, I'm beginning to get on and off the leaderboard right now in ubers, so I thought perhaps I can get some help to maybe get a permanent seat in the leaderboard =). My team's main stategy is to abuse paralysis and sweep. It's been going quite well, though all in all my losses generally are just bad cases of prediction =(.
Dialga @ Lum Berry
Ability: Pressure
Nature: Calm
EVs: 204 HP, 100 SP ATK, 206 SP Def
IVs: N/A
- Draco Meteor
- Stealth Rock
- Thunder
- Thunder Wave
A staple on my team, support Dialga is a great lead and can set up stealth rock with ease. Lum Berry is for opposing Darkrai leads. It also thunder wave other leads which can give me a hard time. Thunder is for Kyogre leads, however, since my Dialga is rather defensive, it doesn't deal TOO much damage. Draco Meteor is a mildly powerful (considering the EVs on it) attack before I switch.
Lugia @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
Nature:Bold
EVs:252 HP, 252 Def, 4 SP. atk
IVs: N/A
- Reflect
- Roost
- Ice Beam
- Thunder Wave
The uber physical wall, Lugia. He is the best physical wall in the game (don't say its Giratina....dragon/ghost type is terrible defensive typing.) A lot of people are saying to give it speed>def but I find it works better like this. But, I may switch it, it all depends.
Darkrai @ Life Orb
Ability: Bad Dreams
Nature: Timid
EVs: 6 HP, 252 Sp. atk, 252 Speed
IVs: N/A
- Dark Void
- Dark Pulse
- Spacial Rend
- Nasty Plot
Ah good ol' Darkrai. Dark Void removes a threat on the opponents team (or weakens if it's a sleep talker.) I can nasty plot when I get the chance, but I usually don't =/. I'm considering replacing this with mewtwo, since it revenge kills Darkrai much more easily.
Groudon @ Salac Berry
Ability: Drought
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 252 Atk, 6 Def, 252 Speed
IVs: N/A
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Dragon Claw
Pretty much its a salac Groudon without substitute. It works quite well but Kyogre scares me.
Ho-oh @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Pressure
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 252 Atk, 252 speed, 6 sp def
IVs: N/A
- Sacred Fire
- Punishment
- Earthquake
- Return
The other uber from the G/S/C era, Ho-oh. He's a very good pokemon, if I'm given the chance to use it. Sacred Fire+sunlight hits very hard, so nothing can really switch into it (sigh, besides Kyogre...) If I play my cards right, I can slaughter a team when their Kyogre is gone. However, the problem is that persistent Kyogre never leave >.>. I'm considering taking him out for something else......though it pains me to do it.
Latias @ Soul Dew
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Timid
EVs: 54 HP, 202 speed, 194 Sp.Def
IVs: N/A
- Dragon Pulse
- HP Fire
- Recover
- Calm Mind
Latias is a decent pokemon. It has just enough speed to outspeed Jolly Garchomp and even other latis who settle with 334 speed. Its pretty standard from here. HP Fire to deal with the omnipresent scizors and metagross today. It hasn't been serving me too well nowadays so I dunno =/.
Well, thats my team. It still has a few flaws, like how I can't seem to fit a sleep absorber for example and has massive problems with bulky rest-talkers (especially rest-talking Kyogre.) Now lets look over the threats.
Mewtwo-Ho-oh can easily kill with sacred fire+sunlight or punishment on a calm mind set. Paralysis is an automatic death sentence to it.
Mew-Nothing honestly counters this. I guess Ho-oh can kill any non-speed passing variants with punishment.
Wobbuffet-If you can’t switch out, you can’t counter it. Therefore, Wobbuffet is impossible to counter. After a kill, Groudon can overpower it.
Lugia -Completely pwned by Darkrai.
Ho-oh- Lugia should wall it and neuter it with paralysis+reflect. Opposing Ho-oh actually give me a hard time.
Latios and Latias-Dialga can neuter with thunder wave (unless its a safeguard variant.) Otherwise, they are devastated by Ho-oh punishment/return.
Kyogre-Countered by Dialga. Neutered with thunder wave, and taken down with Thunders or I send in Latias.
Groudon-Walled by Lugia. It will also die to Ho-oh if its weakened slightly. If not, the burn rate is highly unwelcome
Rayquaza-utterly walled by Lugia.
Deoxys-A-Well....how can people neccessarily (counter) something that has this much destructive potential. The good news is I just need to figure out what set it's using.
Deoxys-D-Darkrai can dark void it, and set up on it.
Palkia-Latias can outspeed and deal with most of them.
Dialga-Groudon and Ho-oh should take care of it.
Giratina-Manhandled by Latias.
Darkrai- I DONT KNOW! Well leads can be taken care of by Dialga, but after that I'm not sure.... I guess I can have something I don't care about take the sleep (usually Lugia)
Manaphy- handled by Groudon.
Garchomp-Usually walled by Lugia, or revenge killed by Latias/Ho-oh if it isnt a scarf variant. If it is, then Groudon enters in the fray.
