Basculin is one of PU's best offensive threats, utilizing its Speed tier to outspeed most of the metagame, which includes common Silvally formes, and Adaptability to boost Liquidation's power and wallbreak. Aqua Jet allows Basculin to pick off weakened faster threats like Raichu and Choice Scarf users like Stonjourner and Manectric. Superpower allows Basculin to notably hit Lapras, which is immune to its STAB moves, and also hits Palpitoad, another common Water immunity in the tier. Ice Beam, although coming off its weaker Special Attack, aims to target opposing Grass- and Dragon-type Pokemon such as Gourgeist-XL, Leafeon, and Fraxure. Basculin is also able to use a fully physical set with Ice Fang over Ice Beam and Choice Band over Life Orb to deal more damage to Silvally-Grass and Gourgeist, but Life Orb is preferred because Basculin is able to freely switch moves in order to handle certain Pokemon such as Lapras more easily.

Basculin appreciates teammates that help it deal with opposing Grass-type Pokemon. Glaceon is a good example, being able to threaten out some of Basculin's defensive checks like Gourgeist-XL and Shiinotic. In addition to this, Glaceon also deals with Palpitoad, which can switch into Basculin without much issue, and Basculin helps Glaceon by dealing with Fire-types such as Raboot and Carkol. Ground-types such as Palpitoad and Vibrava deal with Electric-types such as Manectric and Raichu, which Basculin has trouble against. Palpitoad also offers Stealth Rock support, which assists Basculin in its wallbreaking role, and Basculin helps to deal with Freeze-Dry users like Lapras and Glaceon by using Superpower to remove them. Type: Null is a good special wall for Basculin to be paired with, with it being able to come in against fast special attackers like Meowstic-F, tank a lot of hits, and use a slow U-turn, which can get Basculin safely in on Pokemon it is able to check like Crustle and Silvally-Rock. Basculin likes the assistance of entry hazard setters like Crustle, which can set both Stealth and Spikes to help Basculin wallbreak.

Choice Specs Basculin is a strong special wallbreaker in the PU metagame thanks to Adaptability boosting Hydro Pump to incredibly high levels of power; powerful enough to 2HKO Mareanie. Surf gives Basculin a perfectly accurate STAB attack at the cost of power. Running Ice Beam makes Basculin have near-perfect coverage and allows it to hit Grass-type Pokemon such as Gourgeist-XL and Roselia super effectively. Aqua Jet allows Basculin to pick off faster weakened threats such as Manectric, while Superpower hits Lapras for good damage.

Vibrava is a good teammate, as it is able to switch into common Electric-type Pokemon such as Manectric and offers a slow U-turn, which enables Basculin to get in safely against Pokemon like Gourgeist and Silvally-Rock. Despite Hydro Pump's high damage output, it is still unable to break through dedicated special walls like Type: Null, so Fighting-type partners like Falinks and Hitmontop are good teammates. Both are also able to threaten Lapras, which has an easier time walling special Basculin, and, in return, Basculin is able to wallbreak through Fighting-resistant foes such as Mareanie and Vespiquen. Basculin appreciates teammates that deal with Grass-type Pokemon, such as Silvally-Bug. Silvally-Bug offers a fast U-turn that gets Basculin in against Heatmor and Mareanie, and Basculin is able to pressure Silvally-Rock and Carkol in return. Volt Switch users Raichu and Manectric appreciate Basculin's ability to dispatch common Ground-types such as Stunfisk and chip Palpitoad with Ice Beam so they have an easier time spamming their STAB attacks. In return, they are able to deal with bulky Water-types like Pyukumuku and Lapras.

Basculin is one of PU's best offensive threats, utilising its speed tier to outspeed most of the metagame, which includes common Silvally formes such as Silvally-Bug, Silvally-Psychic and Silvally-Rock. (you don't have to give examples when talking about silvallies) Basculin utilises its ability Adaptability to wallbreak with its Liquidation, which enables it to 2hko everything that does not resist it. (this is fluff, remove) Superpower allows Basculin to notably hit Lapras, which is immune to its STAB and also acts as a way to hit Palpitoad, another common Water immunity in the tier. Ice Beam, whilst coming off its weaker Special Attack, aims to target Gourgeist-XL, which can freely come into a Liquidation and proceed to wall Basculin otherwise. (not only gourg-xl, it also targets grass- and also dragon-types like leafeon and fraxure.)

Basculin appreciates teammates that help it deal with opposing Grass-type pokemon. Glaceon is a good example, being able to threaten out Basculin's checks in Gourgeist-XL, Ludicolo and Silvally-Grass if utilising Choice Scarf. (these can't switch in though, and you don't even need a choice scarf to effectively threaten them) In addition to this, Glaceon also deals with Palpitoad, which can switch into Basculin without much issue and Basculin helps Glaceon to deal with Fire-types such as Heatmor and Carkol. (timid glaceon outspeeds both of them, and specs water pulse does a bunch to both) Ground-types such as Palpitoad help Basculin deal with Electric-types such as Manectric and Raichu. Palpitoad also offers Stealth Rock support which in turn assists Basculin in its wallbreaking role. (any other examples? what does basculin do in return?) Although Basculin resists Ice, it is still vulnerable to Freeze-Dry from Glaceon and Mr. Rime. (you do way too much to both of these, u ohko the former after rocks. this point isnt needed) Type: Null is a good special wall for Basculin to be paired with, with it being able to come into the aforementioned threats, tank a lot of hits and use a slow U-turn, which can get Basculin safely in on pokemon it's able to check like Golurk and Heatmor. (no one switches heatmor into golurk though)

Choice Specs Basculin is a strong special wallbreaker in the PU metagame thanks to Adaptability boosting Hydro Pump to incredibly high levels of power and this set is able to lure in common defensive checks to Basculin such as Mareanie and Gourgeist-XL and break them quite efficiently while keeping its offensive pressure with its high speed tier. (this sentence is very long, and worded very weirdly. this makes the info pretty hard to get, like try to read this out loud. anyway, saying it lures them is false, specs basculin is a common set. the last part also isn't needed) Running Ice Beam makes Basculin have near perfect coverage and in addition, allows Basculin to hit Grass-type pokemon such as the aforementioned Gourgeist-XL and Shiinotic. (u 2hko gourg-xl with hydro though) Superpower is an alternative to Surf if you wish to break Lapras and Aqua Jet is good priority to finish off weakened faster threats like Raichu. (raichu doesn't really take that much, i'd rather have you mention some frailer threat like manectric)

Vibrava is a good teammate for Basculin, as it is able to switch into the common Electric-type pokemon such as Manectric and offers a slow U-turn which enables Basculin to get in safely. (against pokémon like?) Despite Hydro Pump's high damage output, it is still unable to break through (dedicated special walls like..) Type: Null, so Fighting-type partners like Falinks are good teammates in order to handle Type: Null. (what does basculin do in exchange? mention it takes down common fighting resists like mareanie and vespiquen) Falinks is also able to threaten the Ice-type pokemon in the tier such as Glaceon (u ohko glaceon after rocks, bad example) and particularly Lapras, which has an easier time walling special Basculin. Basculin again appreciates teammates that deal with Grass-type pokemon such as Roselia. (the way this is worded makes it confusing and makes it seem like you run roselia to deal with opposing roselias. plus, roselia is not a reliable answer to grassvally and leafeon, making this example in this context pretty shaky) Roselia offers an Electric resistance for Basculin, being able to wall the likes of Raichu and also offers Spikes support, which allows Basculin to have an easier time to ohko certain threats like Gourgeist-XL with Ice Beam. (any notable calcs with hydro pump?) Furthermore, Roselia removes Toxic Spikes which are a hindrance to Basculin (they aren't really, basculin rarely stays in for more than 2 turns) and Roselia appreciates Basculin checking Carkol, which can remove its hazards. (rose just puts it to sleep / does a ton with leaf storm)Offensive Fighting-types like Falinks and Hitmontop appreciate Choice Specs Basculin's power to deal with Mareanie and Gourgeist-XL and in return, they are able to check special walls Type: Null and Munchlax. (move this point up when you talk about spdef walls. mention physical wallbreakers in general, but you can put the emphasis on fighting-types)

mention some voltturn users and what they bring basculin against

Basculin is one of PU's best offensive threats, utilising its speed tier to outspeed most of the metagame, which includes common Silvally formes (mention adaptability and mention that aqua jet also allows it to revenge kill stuff). Basculin utilises its ability Adaptability to wallbreak with its Liquidation, which enables it to 2hko a good amount of the offensive metagame. (please do what i asked you to do in the previous check and nuke this sentence, it's fluff) Superpower allows Basculin to notably hit Lapras, which is immune to its STAB and also acts as a way to hit Palpitoad, another common Water immunity in the tier. Ice Beam, whilst coming off its weaker Special Attack, aims to target opposing Grass- and Dragon-type pokemon, such as Gourgeist-XL, Leafeon and Fraxure, which resist your STAB. Basculin appreciates teammates that help it deal with opposing Grass-type pokemon. Glaceon is a good example, being able to threaten out Basculin's checks in Gourgeist-XL and Shiinotic. (the way this is worded kinda makes it seem like these are the only defensive answers to basculin) In addition to this, Glaceon also deals with Palpitoad, which can switch into Basculin without much issue and Basculin helps Glaceon to deal with Fire-types such as Raboot and Carkol. Ground-types such as Palpitoad help Basculin deal (they don't help it deal with them, they deal with electric-types themselves) with Electric-types such as Manectric and Raichu. (if you're gonna mention raichu, mention vibrava since palpi fails to switch into raichu) Palpitoad also offers Stealth Rock support which in turn assists Basculin in its wallbreaking role and Basculin helps to deal with Freeze-Dry users like Lapras using Superpower. Type: Null is a good special wall for Basculin to be paired with, with it being able to come in against fast special attackers, like Meowstic, tank a lot of hits and use a slow U-turn, which can get Basculin safely in on pokemon it is able to check like Golurk and Heatmor. (except no one switches in heatmor on type: null, though. mention crustle or rockvally if you want to keep 2 examples)

mention entry hazards setter; they make it considerably more threatening while also allowing it to pick off things with aqua jet.
