VGC Based Regidrago team

Hello! Heres my pokepaste Here

This has been a team I've been working on for quite a while on and I think it is a really solid team. I would like this team to be rated so I can see what I need to fix and patch any holes my team may have.

This is my first Pokemon and star of the show! Tera dragon, dragons maw, stab, dragon fang, full hp, dragon energy is incredibly strong and can easily sweep teams that aren't prepared with wide guard or fairies, Regidrago's moveset consists of dragon energy. Draco meteor, Dragon pulse and Protect. Regidrago isn't too strong without dragons maw which only boosts dragon types so coverage is pretty useless (Regidrago doesn't have many coverage moves anyway. Thats why I ran 3 dragon moves. I chose protect because it can help keep regidrago safe from fake out and can let me swap in tornadus to set up tailwind. I put Evs into special bulk so it can live things like Futtermane dazzling gleam and non calyrex draining kiss. This pokemon is what I built this team around. As you can see, It has a very noticeable weakness to fairy so I decided to also use Zacian on my team.
Regidrago @ Dragon Fang

Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 172 HP / 124 SpA / 180 SpD / 32 Spe

This is my next pokemon, Zacian. Zacian is quite strong as well as bulky, this set is using Behemoth Blade, Play Rough, Swords Dance and Protect, a pretty standard Zacian set. Swords dance pairs very well with Tornadus's tailwind and with it can cause a lot of damage. It is trained to be bulky so it can live moves like astral barrage and it is running tera water to lose its fire and ground weakness's. Zacian may have been nerfed but I still think it is one of the best restricteds right now

Zacian-Crowned @ Rusted Sword
Ability: Intrepid Sword
Level: 50
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 204 HP / 76 Atk / 28 Def / 12 SpD / 188 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Behemoth Blade
- Play Rough
- Swords Dance
- Protect

This is no surprise to anyone that I'm using Tornadus. One of the best Pokemon in the meta right now it fits very well on my team, it supports Regidrago very well and it does Zacian too. Tera dark to avoid other taunts and resist astral barrages, it used taunt to stump trick room and it uses rain dance to stop sun teams with Koraidon and make Zacian lose it's fire weakness.

Tornadus @ Covert Cloak
Ability: Prankster
Level: 50
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 252 HP / 100 Def / 4 SpA / 124 SpD / 28 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Bleakwind Storm
- Tailwind
- Taunt
- Rain Dance

One of the best fire types in the meta right now, super strong mon that can counter both Calyrex's . This is set runs psychic to kill Urshifu-Rapid and tera ghost to dodge fake out and Close Combat/Drain Punch from Iron hands.

Chi-Yu @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Beads of Ruin
Level: 50
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Heat Wave
- Dark Pulse
- Psychic
- Overheat

Indeedee is strong support for this team, psychic terrain helps this team take on pokemon like Rillaboom and miraidon aswell as blocking fake out and aqua jet. Follow me redirection lets a lot of the team stay safe and set up and trick room allows this Indeedee to shut down other trick room. Tera fairy is to weaken dark type atttacks against it and be immune to strong dragon moves. Helping hand is to further strengthen teammates.

Indeedee-F @ Psychic Seed
Ability: Psychic Surge
Level: 50
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 HP / 220 Def / 36 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psychic
- Follow Me
- Trick Room
- Helping Hand

Ogerpon | Pokédex
Ogerpon is another strong physical attacker that threatens grass types like Amoonguss and Rillaboom and water types like Kyogre. Out of all the pokemon on my team I'm the least sure about Ogerpon. I tend to never really pick it but when I need it, it really delivers so that is why I use it.

Ogerpon-Hearthflame (F) @ Hearthflame Mask
Ability: Mold Breaker
Level: 50
Tera Type: Fire
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Ivy Cudgel
- Wood Hammer
- Follow Me
- Spiky Shield

Thank ya'll for seeing my team I hope you guys like it and tell me what I can fix

I think there should be a better way to stop koraidon than rain dance on a team with no water and much fire. But maybe run ogerpon w over h, that could also work.
I'm positive indeedee is a bad user of psychic, try expanding force. If they do change terrain, it's a small loss in BP. If they don't, it's a huge gain.

I like it, I find regidrago very fascinating. A dragon type water spout isn't harmless even now.

also Indeedee doesnt get expanding force? It did in gen 8 but not now

I think you have that backwards, iirc it DIDN'T get it gen 8, but does now. Or else ps is letting it run an illegal move, but I highly doubt that as I've seen it in RMTs that were gen 9.

I'm sorry, I didn't think the gender form would affect this. It does, so you're stuck with psyshock or psychic as female indeedee. Well, maybe worth it to not run the male still, hard call.

Well, I was thinking you can't touch most steels in rain. So if Kyogre teams run steels that's trouble. Some you still hit like archaludon, though. I'll look vgc rankings here cause I play singles.

Edit: steels are uncommon I guess. So idk lol.

Very well rounded team. A few issues I found:

  • Strong Fire-types like Tera fire Koraidon + Chi-Yu, and Incineroar can give you trouble. Your only means of damaging fire types right now is Regidrago, and that alone is inconsistent imo.
  • Miraidon. Indeedee might set up Psy-terrain, but it's still taking a massive chunk from Electro Drift. Something like Miraidon + Tailwind + Scarf Chi-yu (which has been popular), can give you quite the bit of trouble.
  • You do not have anything to outspeed a Calyrex-S in Tailwind. A boosted Calyrex-S can run through the team.
  • Not quite convinced on the Zamazenta match-up. As of now, your only means to hit it is Fire-moves which can be mitigated by their Pelipper. You need something else to force their Tera so Zacian-C can hit harder.
I think some slight changes that can be tried out would be
  • Urshifu-R > Ogerpon-H: You can take advantage of Rain Dance to get the OHKO on Calyrex-S, Tera Fire Koraidon, Chi-yu, Incineroar, etc. Choice Scarf set is really good here. Also helps quite a bit against non-Tera Zamazenta.
  • Tera Ground > Ghost on Chi-Yu: You already have Psychic Terrain to block Fake Out. With Tera Ground and Tailwind, you have a solid answer to both Fire types and Miraidon with the Tera Blast Scarf Set.
  • Tera Fairy > Tera Water on Zacian-C: Not a mandatory change. Just something you could try out. Tera Fairy to hit Tera Miraidon and Incineroar hard with Play Rough. Also works against Chi-Yu. But beware, you could be weak to opposing Zacian-C.
Hope this helps, good luck!

yeah, anything else for me to fix ( i just made it to masterball tier with this team)
