[SET]
Primordial Sea (Barraskewda) @ Choice Band
Ability: Primordial Sea
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flip Turn
- Liquidation
- Close Combat
- Aqua Jet / Psychic Fangs / Drill Run
[SET COMMENTS]
Barraskewda, with its fantastic Speed tier that surpasses nearly the entire unboosted metagame, great Attack, and Primordial Sea-boosted STAB moves, is a premier offensive pivot and cleaner, running circles around most of the tier. Close Combat provides fantastic coverage, threatening an OHKO on Hisuian Goodra and incoming Desolate Land Heatran while 2HKOing Zamazenta-C. Aqua Jet provides strong priority to revenge kill weakened Choice Scarf users such as Sandy Shocks, Slither Wing, and Volcarona, while Psychic Fangs or Drill Run provides coverage against Water-resistant foes, with Psychic Fangs targeting Kommo-o, Quaquaval, and Toxapex, and Drill Run being stronger against Iron Moth, Ceruledge, and Cinderace. Barraskewda is very frail and appreciates bulky pivots such as Corviknight, Zapdos, and Manaphy, which can take a hit such as Dragonite's Extreme Speed or Azelf's Expanding Force and bring it in safely to threaten the foe. Barraskewda performs well alongside specially offensive pivots such as Walking Wake and Iron Moth, threatening the checks such as Hisuian Goodra and Garchomp that they would otherwise struggle to break, while in return they threaten Barraskewda'schecks such as Fluffy Corviknight and Zapdos. Due to its frailty, Barraskewda appreciates entry hazard removers such as Great Tusk, Corviknight, and Quaquaval, ensuring it can come in as many times as possible to threaten the foe without fainting to hazard chip. Likewise, Barraskewda appreciates hazard setters such as Garchomp and Kommo-o wearing down checks such as Scream Tail and Desolate Land users over the course of a game, also securing a 2HKO on Manaphy lacking Defense investment with Close Combat after Stealth Rock damage.
