Whenever I am up against the Tycoon, I keep losing cause of his annoying Pokemon. So is this a good team to beat his team?

Castform @ Heat Rock/Damp Rock
Ability: Forecast
EVs: 80 Def / 252 SpA / 176 Spe
Nature: Modest
- Sunny Day/Rain Dance
- Thunder Wave
- Weather Ball
- Solarbeam/Thunder

Castform is whom I am having trouble with. I don't know whether to use a Sunny Day or a Rain Dance moveset. Both in my opinion are very effective movesets, but they only contribute to one of my other Pokemon.

Porygon-Z @ Shell Bell
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Nature: Timid
- Nasty Plot
- Substitute
- Tri Attack
- Solarbeam/Dark Pulse

Porygon-Z is affected by Castform's moveset. If it is Sunny Day, then I will put Solarbeam on it. If it is Rainy Day, then I would use Dark Pulse. Substitute helps keep Porygon-Z alive. Shell Bell might sound dumb, but since it can deal major damage, it can help it stay alive.

Vaporeon @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA
Nature: Modest
- Wish
- Toxic
- Surf
- Ice Beam

Vaporeon would kind of benefit from Castform's Rainy Dance, but it would be fine without it. Toxic would be used on other Water-Types, like Milotic. Wish can keep all three of the Pokemon alive if timed correctly.

So, I am still kind of a newb to this team-building stuff. Do you think I should use a Rainy Dance or a Sunny Day Castform?

Well first off, your whole team is all special-based. Add a strong physical attacker, like Infernape.

Castform is usable, but it's not a lead (or a very good poke in general), so I would use that Infernape I was talking about.

In general, you're going to want to have an all-around attacking team with one wall/supporter at the most. I'd at least do that first thing I talked about (;

Also, I'd add more defense EV's to Vaporeon, and take some away from HP since it has plenty of that.

Hm, so you're saying I should replace my Castform with Infernape? Does that mean my Porygon-Z should learn Dark Pulse?

I think leads with explosion are awesome in the battle tower. Because if they manage to ko the opposing lead they can just blow up on the opposing teams 2nd pokemon.
I was using a lead Azelf with psychic, energy ball (is better than grass knot in battle tower), flamethrower and explosion. With max speed and focus sash it normally almost always beats the opposing lead and then blows up on the 2nd pokemon. It just has trouble with certain battle tower leads like umbreon or the rare jolly weavile. If i found myself up against these id explode straight away.
I think other exploding leads such as metagross or maybe gengar would work equally well.
I also think outraging dragons are beast in the battle tower. I used to use an adamant dragon dance dragonite with outrage fire punch and aerial ace and a sword dance outrage garchomp. Dragon dance outrage salamence would be good too. Just use yache berry and/or focus sash.
I got beaten the other day by a hypnosis gengar lead that never missed with its hypnosis so i am trying to incorporate a sleeptalker into my team even if i dont have rest. I dont think its 100% neccessary, but would definitely come in handy. But being a battle tower team, you only have 12 move slots to work with.

Okay, your team is too special based. I agree with the above statement of leading with an infernape. Again, as above any strong physical attacker is great ( i use DD salamence, and that works great).

Keep Porygon-z, but i think you may benefit from:

Porygon-Z @ Shell Bell
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Nature: Timid
- Nasty Plot
- Ice Beam/ Shadow Ball/ Dark Pulse
- Tri Attack
- Thunderbolt

Considering this is a battle tower team, i think you should go for a much more aggressive moveset. If your Porygon-Z is running a speed boosting nature (which it should be) then it will outpace all of his pokemon. I really like the idea of shell bell on this thing, although if you really want to pack an obscenely powerful punch then life orb is a definite option.

Your Vaporeon is good. Although the EV spread is slightly dodgy, you may enjoy more success if you change to:

Vaporeon @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 188 HP / 252 Def / 68 SpA
Nature: Modest
- Wish
- Toxic
- Surf
- Ice Beam

This provides something much more bulky, that's able to sponge hits with that enormous 130 base hp. The Sp Atk EVs give it more killing power.

If you really want something more aggressive try tinkering with the HP and Sp Atk EVs

Hope this helps!

Pink for Valentines Day. ^_^

This is a very interesting set... Go with Rain Dance and Thunder. But I would give Castform a Focus Sash. He has VERY low defenses and can't take much of a hit.

As i said on Castform, go with a Rain based team. Give PorygonZ thunderbolt somewhere in there. You need to be able to do as much damage as possible with the assist from the rain, and thunderbolt would help you out greatly.

Vaporeon @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA

- Wish
- Toxic
- Surf
- Ice Beam

Looks good, basic set.

Just my 2 cents. ^_^

Consider replacing one of the pokemon there with Zapdos. You could repalce PZ, and use Rain Dance with Castform. Then give Zapdos Thunder, and you've got a good team. Maybe Protect over Ice Beam on Vappy?

This thread is now locked under RMT Rule 3:
Rule #15 said:
3. Have some actual words in your post beyond your six Pokemon and their moves. Not following this makes your post quite boring to read and rate. All Pokemon should have a good reason for being in your team anyway, so why not post that reason? If you're having trouble with this one, start by giving an explanation for each team member. Why are they there? What role do they serve? How do you get them in? Then, give an explanation of how you would open with the team and how you would go about using it. All of these things help people rate your team and allow us to offer more helpful advice.

This does not mean add one sentence saying "Standard x" or "all-around awesome" after each Pokemon. If you put thought into making the team, you can put thought into posting it.

And honestly you shouldn't be posting an RMT in order to beat a single foe in the Battle Tower (who isn't tough to beat anyway).
